  1. Not meaning to be rude but this is a matter of fact - not opinion. You surmised that Brighton don’t score enough goals for all their good play. Under DeZerbi - that’s just not true. I rate Moyes. But I think the league is evolving past that. Not to say they won’t have a good season. I’m just not totally convinced.
  2. That is a very fair point. Some of these may emerge in the first team over the next couple of years saving us tens and of millions.
  3. Agree with this. Some on here are convinced Miggy is a top 6 level player and will be able to replicate his league output. He scored 11 last season in the league,I doubt he'll get 10 but would love to be proved wrong.
  4. Back in the day that could get you 6th consistently. But the coaching 1-8/9 has just evolved passed what Moyes can do on a regular basis.
  5. I agree with this. But we haven’t been as ‘smart’ in the transfer market in terms of unearthing gems as I thought we would be. Barnes and Tino were logical and predictable signings. And then we’ve signed the Milan captain for a premium. I expected us to do more Botman & Bruno type deals and the type of signings at Brighton.
  6. Aye Murphy is due for some serious minutes. It what I wanted but seems it will happen. It is what it is.
  7. When Wwst Ham had 3 midfielders on their transfer list - I wanted Paqueta. Still want him.
  8. We must think our LB options are good enough. Because we are not even involved in this Hall or KT transfer discussions.
  9. Why would I put stock in pre season? They literally scored more goals than us, Man U, Villa etc. without a proper goalscorer. The system produced results
  10. I think Tino transfer is purely opportunistic. I don’t think we with a different RB if he wasn’t available. Tonali doesn’t come off we sign another CM.
  11. I wonder how much mental scarring Maguire has. His form for England has slipped imo. And tbh… he’s no better than Zouma or Aguerd. A cheeky loan for either ?
  12. I think they could get a couple more here. Some of these are u20 I think.
  13. I reckon Eddie forces minutes for the lad because of his ability, potential, fee and salary. 30 minutes if we are 3+ up in a game. Minutes at left-back (for him or Trips) if we are chasing a game or want to all-out attack General minutes at left back (for him or Trips) Minutes at RW The way ASM/Gordon got minutes when they were out the team. Too much invested just to play a cover role. Lascelles is cover. Murphy is cover. Tino will play a lot of minutes.
  14. Aye. People complain about robotic players like Haaland being the best and complain about a lack of flair.... then turn around and hate Neymar's game. It makes no sense. Neymar is at worst.. the 2nd best player born in the 90s. He would be a top 5 player in PL history had he played here for a decade. Players like Rooney, Bale, Aguero, Suarez... he's better than them all.
  15. I mean.. it's not. Only if you look at it in a 1-dimensional manner. Our approach is unique because our context is unique. There's nothing like this in the history of the sport.
  16. Aye they've not sold much so far. You would expect a few of KT, Balogun, ESR or Vieira to get sold. All are still there. They seem to be waiting out and hoping for big fees Soton style.
  17. Probably better for FFP this way. AND... West Ham transfer approach has been shambolic. They don't know what they are doing.
  18. Aye. And he's also right (but missing the FFP context). Anyone looking on the outside would think "mega rich owners, now in the CL.. even if they want to be sensible get 3-4 'top' players in, maybe another 2-3 top-level youngsters and attack everyone". Tonali aside... a team of West Ham's level could sign who we have signed. But that's the reality of FFP. It will be the limiting factor in what we can do for a long time. And.. I've said this before and it's made people angry. The only way we get a good level of freedom from FFP (without cheating) is to sell a star player or two for mega bucks (and when their remaining amortisation cost is say <20m). Until then.. we chip away at it. A few commercial deals at better and better rates and we invest the maximum we can.
  19. Tierney is behind Zinchenko and seemingly Timber too. He's surely got to go.
  20. That's Potter Brighton. DeZerbi's Brighton score a lot of goals. Last season Brighton scored more league goals than us and the 4th highest in the league. Only behind City, Arsenal and Liverpool. It's the 53 goals (like 8th worst in the league) conceded that dragged them down.
  21. £40m will get you a winger that’s scored 7 premier league goals in 70 odd matches at 21. 2/3 of Mason Mount with 1 year left on his contract. Less than half a Declan Rice. It doesn’t even get you Kalvin Phillips.
  22. Different type of player. I think Caicedo is brilliant.
  23. Older players have come to the Prem and lit it up.
