  1. This is also where we need proper managerial skill.
  2. Tbf that’s not his natural position either. We don’t have one.
  3. We spent the money and wages on another really good LW. At some point this year I’ll stop banging that drum re: Kudus & Palmer. That’s the profile and fee we should be targeting almost always. Young with room for development, coming from low wages, decent fee but not astronomical. You’ll get some wrong but the winners could treble in value. With the exception of the v. young boys like Minteh - few of our players have 3x resale potential.
  4. Purely movement - I think he’s better* *feel like Jackson sometimes does the Cisse thing of totally forgetting the offside rule
  5. Eddie is a really good fit for us. We like high intensity and relatively direct play. we aren’t accustomed to slow build up.
  6. There’s elements of truth to most widely reported rumours imo
  7. It’s just Eddie usual antics. He’s infamous in the FPL community as a liar.
  8. This is very true. You look at his profile and he reminds me a bit of Craig Bellamy. The pace and aggression. But Bellamy was a terror on the counter - especially away from home. Gordon isn’t.
  9. If at the end of the season things are exactly the same. It’s more of a discussion imo. He’s still in and out the side and part of his first real run of games under Howe. If this time next season he’s still right here then we can talk about stalled development.
  10. I was a young lad myself tbf. These are grown men.
  11. The tone of the article is wrong ‘he’s still only 20’. That’s what you say about a 23/24 year old that’s still finding his way. Not someone who has literally just turned 20. He needs to develop physically and learn the position. Yeh. Of course he does. But the tone is all wrong? I’ll never forget people constantly criticising Milner. I was one of them. That’s not how you nurture talent.
  12. I’d be happy with a Chelsea era Guehi type signing. I can’t think of a modern example though. I think Guehi was considered a bigger talent a Harwood-Bellis. I’m not sure that lad is ready for the PL and Guehi was ready at 21.
  13. Kelly rotates with Hall at LB. And the long-term Dan Burn replacement. Which should be back-up LB & LCB.
  14. Kroos out, Mbappe in has not started well for Real. Not played well at all this season from what I’ve seen.
  15. Stick with him imo. Kelly is not good enough n the air to play CB imo. Burn gets his head onto things.
  16. I know he’s got grey hairs but he’s only 32. He hasn’t shown any signs of decline and **avoiding jinxing something** which is a good sign.
  17. I don’t think they can do that in this case. On appeals to higher courts - yes. But this is a PL ruling on PL rules.
  18. I’m not a fan of Shearer as a pundit but he’s improved. I expect him to be an expert on NUFC - perhaps unfairly - and he’s not. Particularly on the behind the scenes or FFP/PSR stuff. Not a vibes pundit, not a fun pundit, not a knowledgeable pundit etc. I think Shay Given is the most knowledgeable NUFC pundit. Shay also comes across as a sharp guy which helps.
  19. They normally wear polo tops with jeans or chinos no? Trip to Benners is a loose tracksuit and flip flops. They don’t wear that as pundits. Daniel Sturridge has the most casual clothes. And he’s typically dressed like he’s about to hit the red carpet, Vogue or a club. Decked in Prada usually. Again - I think modern culture is what you’re rallying against. Longing for the days of LeTiss and Thompson in suits is weird to me. Jeff Stelling was brilliant though.
  20. Rio’s a plonker but he doesn’t carry the annoying cynicism and can have a laugh. My biggest pet peeve is always getting someone that played for a team as a pundit. Joleon Lescott played for Man City - who cares. He’s not a good pundit and he didn’t even play for them a long time. I think Sir Les could add a lot of value to punditry with his experience as a DoF but don’t just bring him in because Spurs and Newcastle are playing.
  21. Garth was a laugh. Not taking criticism of Garth. Aye this is my biggest pet peeve. Especially Neville he used to be the best. They don’t know anything about our team. Schar is one of our biggest offensive weapons. Set pieces, long rangers, playmaking, that long ball over the top to the LW in behind etc. don’t mind Rio too. I don’t mind anyone that doesn’t mind having a bit of a laugh. It’s the ones that want to be serious but don’t know very much like Mills and Neville that get on my nerves. This is a bit of a moan re: modern culture though? Most professionals wear casual clothes now including football managers. Middle aged men wearing suits to cover football does feel a bit archaic to watch.
  22. PIF don’t seem to want to do that. I don’t see how Man City can be found guilty of multi-year intentional financial cheating and not get a relegation. A points deduction doesn’t suffice. But like I said yesterday - I don’t think substantial guilty verdicts will stick after appeals.
  23. Sometimes I look at Joelinton and Longstaff and wonder how they think they’re meant to receive the ball.
  24. We need the revenues from a bigger stadium with better rates to be continually successful.
