James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

Same reason as Newcastle. Money. Stoke had some class players. It’s a shithole. -
I meant jinky but that works.
-
Unrefined. Chaotic. Talented. Skilful. Capable of a bit of magic aye. He’s not even particularly fast. He’s just got great feet, balance and agility so he can drop a shoulder and shimmy past a few players. He’s clearly a talent. Not saying we should sign him but the description of him is incorrect. And if we did sign him I think he has the talent/ceiling to succeed.

Nothing like them at all. Kudus is kinky and can really strike a ball. Not to mention he’s played striker, CAM, CM (which I think could be his best position - 8/10 in a midfield 3) and RW. While the others are pure wingers.
-
What’s his wage? That’s the big issue. If it’s too high we won’t get a fee.
-
Aye the very one. He was still bang average and not even a top 10 level PL defender.

No idea tbh. I only watch PL and CL. I didn’t know much about Isak or Bruno so evidently I don’t know much. -
Manquillo was the one I thought we may get a fee for. Saudi man. £6m. Get him in.

I think Pardew succeeded in his bosses objectives. He kept us up fairly comfortable most seasons and didn’t complain about his boss. He was an outright failure to us. But our owner didn’t care.
-
I remember when 80% of this forum thought Pardew was holding back Vurnon Akante

That squad was immensely over rated. Williamson Ryan Taylor Steven Taylor Santon Cisse (first 6 months aside) Jonas Simpson Yanga-Mbiwa Gouffran Anita These were not top 6 level players. Krul Colo Demba Cabaye Tiote HBA Is a good spine. Like top 8. But the rest of the team is wasn’t particularly good.

Agreed. Another Isak level talent and we are in business -
At worst the 3rd best manager of the Ashley era. Obviously says very little of his ability and more about Ashley.
-
Whenever I’ve seen him he’s looked like a high ceiling player. Touch, agility, pace, strikes the ball cleanly, hard worker. Ghana’s best player at the World Cup and looked a real threat whenever I’ve seen him in the CL. Tactically flexible too. Like his goal against Liverpool was a banger. When I think of a ‘painfully average’ player I think of Weghorst. Kudus at the least is capable of some magic. I don’t watch him week in week out to know his game in depth or his consistency. But he’s a talent for sure imo.

He’s not a cute passer like a Maddison or even Bruno. We need a creative player imo whether CM or RW. And we need to be functional without Bruno. Tonali’s a better passer than the others but I still think we need other options to progress in midfield. Imo anyway. -
Kudus isn’t an out and out winger.

But we’ve already got Bruno in thr team. We need other players with a cute pass in them. -
Isn’t Diaby left footed? Same dynamic as Trippier Almiron, Messi Alves, Salah TAA
-
Hakimi is a fullback.

Aye. If we get the Guler lad or similar I’m good. If not we still have a creative problem. -

Aye they are not comparable. We still need another player with genuine attacking quality - someone that can open a defence. Tonali isn’t that at all excluding set pieces. big Joe is already #1 at LW. He’ll get loads of game time at LW or LCM anyway. Anderson needs to go on loan imo. He’s not ready to start 10-15 games for us. -

You’re talking logically about business. But you don’t know ball. -

Disappointed that he’s going to spurs. Best of luck lad. -
Silly decision. Valverde is THE guy. Never misses a game. Can play multiple positions.
-
In the first team? Probably over time yeh. Laporte’s place in the squad.
