Moyes ball is awful man.

MacAllister - contract was up at the end of the season. Brighton got him to extend the contract but included a low release clause.

Cruyff discusses the inverted fb here. It’s been around for yonks. Pep did it with Delph, Zinchenko and Cancelo. How could Pep he copying Klopp? Stones isn’t playing FB in any phase of play. He’s a CB who pushes into midfield. Ake or Akanji play left back and Walker right back.

Maybe it is harsh. For all I doubt Antony’s talent. He has that tenacity in his game. Garnacho has it. Rashford has it when he’s in the groove. Saka has always had it. Even when attacking ASM has it. Sancho plays almost half hearted. There’s ability there. But not the application or the determinant imo.

Many fans think they need a "traditional" FB in some circumstances. Particularly because Zinchenko cannot defend and Tierney can.
-
Every Arsenal fan I speak too speaks highly of him. I didn't rate him all that highly but nearly every Arsenal fan rates him which is positive.
-
Also proven injury prone. Not managed 30 league games in a season over 4 seasons.

If we wanr Tierney as #1 we should be quick about it.

No doubt he's good at it but teams clocked it. And his one-footedness makes the entire routine pretty predictable. When the ball comes back to him, he's going to run around the ball to use his left foot again. You can mitigate a 1-2 better than a 1v1 dribbler. And aye, that's not a strength of ASM. Although, at times, he showed some nice link-up with Isak & Gordon.

Teams clocking onto it in the second half of the season and mostly nullified it. The one-footedness of Almiron makes him one-dimensional to defend against. I've not seen it used to much effect but I've liked how Gordon can use his left foot. Potentially, he could be useful on either flank. One of his issues is that he's not much cop 1v1 and hasn't developed any relationships with others.

This is why I was never overly harsh on wor Tiote. Hre always took responsibility.

RIP Cheick. Hope his family are at least ok financially.

Geremi, Butt & Smith, for various reasons had lost their legs... Like Geremi & Butt you could tell, they used to be good players. Colback didn't have any ability whatsoever. I watched the least amount of football during the Smith days.. so my memories of him are hazy. I don't remember him having any ability whatsoever mind.

With Almiron his thing is confidence. He'll never strike a ball particularly cleanly consistently or become a composed finisher. But with confidence as we've seen, he can score goals. Same with Willock really. He needs a few to go in consecutively and then the confidence will flow in.

It's the most interesting appointment in some time for Spurs. No idea if it will work.

Daniel will decide whether Kane stays or goes. It's obvious but it's that simple.
-
Is he? The football doesn't seem dissimilar to me. If Johnson kicks on he could move higher up the league though. I do think this is a good time for West Ham to move on from Moyes. Hopefully with a trophy. Maybe go in for Potter?
-
This does play a part. He needs to slow down before taking his shots, make sure he's in the right body shape.
-
I don't totally buy that. The whole team dribbles - A LOT. Joe, Willock, Bruno. Murphy, Almiron, Gordon are also all ball carriers. This thread irks me, so I'll try and stay out after this post. Personally, I want our most talented players to succeed at this club, and I'd like ASM to stay and fight for his place. I will never understand the eagerness in some quarters to move on big talents if they're willing to stay, fight and improve.

There's not much reason why their ceiling should be any lower than Arsenal's. Arsenal are historically more successful - probably 3rd in England. But Spurs aren't far behind in any metric (except silverware).
