You quote me and fail to understand simple points day after day. You’ve called me a hypocrite. I’ve not contradicted myself once on Zaha if you would bother to engage your brain. I’ve realised it’s not a discussion in good faith - you and the same others just want to disagree with me. It’s tiresome.
-
Aye I like him. But he’s far from the end product. I think it would be an intelligent signing. But I don’t expect him to come in and immediately be a massive upgrade on what we have. Honestly, without another more established attacker coming in - it’s a little underwhelming. Much prefer him to Dennis mind. You can tell he has real footballing ability.
-
you’re not intelligent. You’ve struggled with a v. simple point because you have a hard-on for me. Go away and stop quoting me.

You are not a bright individual. My personal opinion is Zaha is a great player that could play for a top 6 side. Pace, power, skill, balance and in recent years he’s added real end product. He’ll score 9-15 goals this season at Palace im sure. He would improve us immeasurably. I think he could be transformational player that would help get us into Europe. I personally think it’s a great short-term / medium term signing. However - I don’t think the club is interested in signing a 29 year old for £30m on massive wages. We could sign him for that money and still finish 9th. I think FFP and resale is front and centre of our strategy. Those short term transfers were made in January - they don’t want that. I don’t think he’s the profile the club wants and I understand why. it’s not the strategy I would adopt but it is a logical one.

Nunez has excellent movement. He’s no Aguero with the finish
-
Zaha is one of the best players outside the top 6. I thought we would sign an attacker of that quality. Joao Pedro I like but he’s a couple levels below what I thought we would be after.
-
Significantly better than any of our attackers. can play across the front line. LW, RW and ST. Fee would be about £30m - nothing crazy. 3 years - could get us into CL if we add a few more of that quality.
-
This is very true. J Pedro has time to develop though.
-
Who was after Richarlison at £55m+? Clubs still use similar transfers as barometers. There was no chance Leicester would sell JM for anything significantly less than the Raphinha fee in this window. And again - if you read decent sources - Leicester want atleast £50m which is a fair fee when you look at the market. Using your own logic. You wouldn't sell your house for significantly less than your neighbours when you know your house is just as big, in good condition etc. Unless it's a desperate fire sale. I don't think Leicester are at a fire sale. They'll sell Fofana for at least £70m and I reckon Man Utd or someone grabs Tielemans for £20-35m
-
Harrison's value to Leeds will be much more than the value we will have of him
-
Richarlison £60m. 25. 2 years left on his contract. Regular Brazilian international. 32 PL G/A last 2 seasons. Raphinha £50m. 25. 2 years left on his contract. Emerging Brazilian international. Bidding war. 31 PL G/A last 2 seasons. Maddison. £45m??????. 25. 2 years left on his contract. English. 33 PL G/A last 2 seasons. Market value has to be around £50m-£60m Less than £50m is a steal.

All setup by Ashworth. They rarely land great attackers though.. which is worrying.
-
This Tuchel's doing. He's not more talented than what they have. Tuchel's been there for 18 months and won't change tactics substantially so he needs different attackers. Another manager gets more out of those attackers. They are all talented.
-
Good idea this. Would take Gallacher perm (lower wages, consistent performer, good injury record) then loan a wide player.
-
I haven't seen that in a long time. But Tuchel hasn't got a tune out of any Chelsea forward. I would be happy with him on loan with a view to making it permanent though.
-
Same on both counts. This is why I think the leadership currently prioritises value over the immediate needs of the squad/first team. As you say, I understand the route they went. Especially considering they thought Ekitike was in the bag. That would've meant RW was less a priority, back-up ST sorted so we could go after a CM.
-
And that's fair. I would also argue an injury to Bruno would leave us with a midfield of : Joelinton - Longstaff - Willock That's a lower bottom half midfield at best. I understand Wilson's injury record makes his back-up a bigger issue than it might be otherwise. But I'd rather have a starting RW or CM than £50m of strikers on the bench. I think all 3 are needed. And we'll get the attacking ones. I'd prefer the RW to be permanent and ST a loan but I can see us getting Ramos permanent and a Chelsea RW on loan.
-
Always injured. Really liked him a few seasons ago. Got into a great groove. Not got close to that since.
-
No it's not. 44 goals in 38 games, is poor in any season. This season already, we've only scored worldies but struggled for genuine creativity and fret.
-
We play with 3 midfielders. We have 4 fit ones, 3 of which aren't that good on the ball. I agree RW should be 1.
-
Few links to midfielders though..
-
Nope. We really lack quality at CM/midfield. A lot of question marks over our CM's ability. I dion't think we'll sign a midfielder anyway unless it's JM. It looks like we are after a wide player and striker.
-
Brighton game showed the lack of ability that we have in midfield. RW, CM and ST would be ideal. Expect us to get the attacking 2.
-
Aye feel bad for the lad.

I don't know if it was intentional but Souness comments comes across as typical workplace micro-aggression. That "man's game" rhetoric is outdated. You can use other words to get across the same point with inclusive language. Commitment, aggression, desire, appetite, taking accountability etc. In his defence - Souness is a dinosaur. He turns 70 next year. His takes have been outdated for a long time. He's always on the verge of saying something he shouldn't. He's one of these "I don't like that they dance" types.
