  1. Disagree with the bolded but the rest is true.
  2. A free-agent Harry Kane has his pick of clubs. I genuinely see Real, Barcelona, Bayern etc. as genuine options in 2 years. He'll have a Henik Larsson like end to his career at European giants - especially if he doesn't price himself out of moves.
  3. I totally forgot about Bissouma. Good signing. I'm still in the mindset that a £50m player should be a star player for Spurs or at least guaranteed starter. But if you've got £50m for a back-up forward - then cool. As you say - you're linked with players in the right positions anyway so it looks like you will continue to invest. With a happy Conte - Spurs will easily finish top 4 and have a genuine chance of winning the league. Conte's already clocked one 90 point season in the PL. If he can do that again, Spurs can win the league. Also Spurs do need to start planning for a post-Kane world. I don't think he'll re-sign, especially if Klopp/Pep are around and interested or Madrid/Bayern/PSG are also interested. If a team is willing to drop £80m for Kane next summer, Spurs in the CL, Conte happy enough - I can see him selling. I'm just not sure a team will come in for Kane at that price given his injury issues and lack of mobility already. He's already less mobile than Benzema who is turning 35 this year.
  4. I like the signings. It's the manager I don't rate but they can replace him.
  5. Sitting in front of the defence - making blocks, interceptions and passing it forward. Strong in the tackle when needed. He's played at 100% commitment - he can't do that for a season. Also playing at the very edge of his athleticism too. Massive work every game he played. As Flip said, how we want to use Bruno is crucial to the midfielder we bring alongside him. I mentioned earlier that i thought Spurs needed a CM - forgetting they already signed Bissouma.
  6. Aye. City have mastered that 50/60m range - Chelsea haven't.
  7. Aye there's lots of question marks around Chelsea. To say they've strengthened at this point isn't true. But they'll finish comfortably in the top 6. Even Frankie managed that.
  8. There's enough talent in the squad to challenge for top 4 with 1 or 2 good additions and a good manager. It's the same argument. "The players are toxic and they are all shit". I don't buy it. I do agree that they are unlikely to get it "right" but there's not much scope for getting it more wrong. Although I didn't get the Eriksen chase. They've already got Fernandes - it's like they've written him off already.
  9. Even Joelinton - he's still figuring it out.
  10. It's a purple patch. See Cisse, Papiss. Many called Lingard's West Ham form a purple patch too. To me - a lot of people have rose-tinted specs on for Joelinton. He's bang average on the ball. Without him, the midfield lacks physicality. We need another one in there with genuine ability. RF, ST, CM and our key business for 22/23 is done. Review in January.
  11. I think I said this word for word yesterday. It's not a good central midfield at all.
  12. Most casual fans aren't refreshing a thread on him every 2 hours tbf
  13. We don't have a track record of bringing in players of the highest quality and we don't have many strong links after Botman anyway,.
  14. I don't believe the core problem at Manchester United is the actual players. Easy scapegoat. The core problem is senior management of the club - that is likely to persist. Secondary is their last 2 managers were horrendously underqualified for the job. Ten Hag being a competant manager will be worth 10 points this season alone.
  15. Aye but no higher than playing for Fulham
  16. Declan Rice is going nowhere this season. Moyes and West Ham is a perfect marriage. They've got a strong team and depth. They'll be right up there next season imo. With the money they have, they will create the ultimate Moyes team which is a top 7 team. Fabianski Coufal Zouma Aguerd Cresswell Soucek Rice Bowen Lanzini Danjuma Antonio Benrahma, Yarmolenko, Dawson, Vlasic, Areola, Fornals, Johnson, Ogbonna You've got a nice squad there. Quality throughout. Size. Strength. Athleticism etc.
  17. Money will be average. Roque Junior was historically bad for Leeds. Very memorable failure. Man Utd will be significantly better for having an actual football manager in charge that is qualified for the job.
  18. I agree. We have to flex the Saudi money for a competitive advantage. It's that simple.
  19. The PL is flush with money. It’s a big reason why we haven’t signed any star players from other PL clubs. 30/40m doesn’t get the job done
  20. Yep. This is why I keep saying we need to spend in excess of £130m to really gain ground. West Ham have signed 2 highly regarded players for £80m
  21. Bigger issue is they surely don’t need him. Kane Son Kulu Perisic (ok maybe wingback) Richarlison is big depth. But I thought they need a CM, RWB and a CB more. West Ham signings look good. They look like top 6/7 signings. I don’t think we’ve made any ground on them squad wise so far. They have a good squad now.
  22. Leeds should’ve bought before selling. They’ve sold their Crown Jewels in June. 2 months of other teams knowing they have £100m to spend. Do it the Levy way. Drag it out. Say you won’t sell and sell early August.
  23. Aye. A massive limitation of our team is there's very little ball retention in the team but especially in midfield.
  24. I'd like a similar player to Bruno (but more of an athlete) but one that contrasts slightly with how Howe wants to play Bruno. E.g. if Bruno is to play more progressively - then someone more defensively minded. I wouldn't mind a player in the profile of Gini
  25. I'd prefer another "proper" CM than an Aouar type.
