  1. Nah at 21 - it’s time for a move. For his own career’s sake. And he’ll be on very low wages at Reims. Another year isgood to get him a better shot and more experience. But not 2 - that would be a failure.
  2. A lot of the deadwood will go in late August. Nobody will be in a rush to sign Dwight Gayle.
  3. We'll sign 2 attackers minimum. I'm hoping for another midfielder at the least
  4. Would pay his whole wages for a year if there's no loan fee. Nobody is paying any fee to take on those wages. Not a transfer not a loan.
  5. Botman was holding up the transfer to sound out the Milan interest - it never materialised and Botman signed. Hugo's agent is playing funny buggers. Assume wages and such are fine with Hugo
  6. Aye. Nobody is emotionally attached to the lad. Nobody has seen him play live.
  7. He only has 2 years left on his contract. Other clubs probably willing for him to have another year at Reims, see how he develops. If he's good as they think - the fee next season is similar to what we are willing to pay now. They'll have a more proven player, ready to come in and compete for the first team. Any top team in for him now would likely loan him out for another season anyway. We are really risk the £30m now. Others are willing to wait.
  8. He just turned 20 two weeks ago. It's not shit or bust for him. He's more as likely to get another 10-15 goals. He'll have just turned 21 - all the big clubs around Europe will be in for him with just 1 year left on his contract. The fee would remain the same for Reims but he would be in for a lot more money personally and for his agent too. Another year at Reims is a good idea for footballing reasons too.
  9. I think the agent problems is only a short/medium term issue. He would still benefit having another season at Reims - playing regularly. Worst thing for him is moving and just sitting on the bench. This time next year he'll just have turned 21. Imagine he scores 12-15 goals next season. He could go anywhere. Stop being so sour. It looks ugly (not you personally - just some on here)
  10. Whiel I agree with this - we do need the right players. That's why i'm not averse to loan signings. If the right long-term player isn't there we can always get a loan in.
  11. We need to do serious business to get on their coattails.
  12. I don't mind a big name player on loan with an agreed option to buy. I'd take any Chelsea attacker on that basis. Pulisic, Ziyech, Werner - whoever.
  13. I don't despise him but I didn't like him for us at all. I don't think he would come either. But - I would take him him on loan for sure. In a midfield 3 Bruno - Shelvey Gini or Gini - Bruno - Joe. I like it.
  14. First season in Europe and comfortably 7th.
  15. Dawson was a good player for them last season but that Aguerd sounds like a step up. Lingard potentially too.
  16. Transformative is a good word because it's true.
  17. I think we under-rate how good they are.
  18. We caught Arsenal on a low-ebb for them and a high for us. Top 4. Man U. West Ham. Arsenal. Leicester. All have better squads than us as it is. Villa have done some serious business already. I think 9/10 is about par at the moment. If we sign some serious forwards - that may change but for now. The team is bang midtable.
  19. This is my thing. A squad is about a 3/4 year cycle. Everyone we've signed bar Bruno & Botman (maybe Pope) is unlikely to be here in 4 years just due to age. If Botman and Bruno are as good as we hope they are - they are not going to wait 4/5 years for us to challenge for top 4. We need great commercial deals and European football within the next 2 seasons if the leadership are as ambitious as we think.
  20. I don’t like the look of the city squad without Sterling and Jesus. Take Haaland out the side and it’s very one-paced going forward.
  21. DCL has scored more than 12 league goals from open play in 2 out of the last 3 seasons for a midtable side. Many here would scoff at paying £45m for him.
  22. Because he's a useful squad player. I think he's a good player and the fee seems decent too.. But if he scored 12 goals next season - I wouldn't be shocked. 12 (lower end) - 17 (upper end) is my expectation.
  23. IMO unless we get another midfielder it's 9-13 for us. Unless the wingers and attackers are shit hot.
  24. Not hot on Broja unless loan with an option to buy.
  25. I'm a massive fan of Raphinha. Think he wouldn't look out of place in a team challenging for titles.
