  1. Who can afford him abroad in Europe? PSG, Real maybe Bayern. There’s as many options in the PL as the whole of Europe. The fee is dependent on our FFP and other PL clubs FFP. We should’ve signed him up again last summer. Now the wage demands are probably untenable but let’s hope. We don’t seem too pressed to get it done like we did with Gordon. I think the club might want to sell him in 2026. He’ll have £20m left of his amortisation costs. Massive accounting profits.
  2. Contradicted yourself a bit. The key thing is salary. We've finished above Man U once in the history of the PL - thanks to Isak. We've not finished above Arsenal in the league for how many years? If they pay the money, Isak would entertain it.
  3. Wishful thinking in here imo. If Man U or Arsenal put up the money and we don't - he would consider it. I don't either will though.
  4. Aye. With the possible exception of Chelsea. But like Chelsea - they’ll get to exploit loopholes others can’t.
  5. It’s not a safer bet like. A lot of great PL sides were built off the back of ‘top’ sides buying the best players from the division from other clubs. Cole, Yorke, Campbell, Cantona, Ferdinand, Carrick, Tevez, Rooney, Berbatov, Van Persie etc. PL started losing recipes when the likes of Bale went abroad. He should’ve gone to Man U or Chelsea the first time he won Player of the Year. Go out buy the best the PL has to offer is a good strategy. I don’t think he ends up at Arsenal though. Chelsea are more likely to make it happen.
  6. And Arsenal are one of the biggest 10-15 clubs in the world. After the tier ones (Real, Juve, Bayern etc.) it's them and the likes of Atleti.
  7. The "£150m" is entirely dependent on our FFP position. If Arsenal have the money and ambition Isak would go. They would pay him (close to) £300k. That's sort of the level Isak is at and the money he should aim for. If he doesn't extend by the end of the summer, I expect him to be sold the following summer. He deserves the money and we'll need to cash in.
  8. AFTV Robbie is a solid bloke from what I’ve seen. He just platforms the Arsenal fans lunacy. It’s some of the recurring characters that put on an act that I don’t like.
  9. Game not available in the UK? At least I don’t have to watch a Madrid pasting.
  10. 2 of which I don’t expect to be here next season.
  11. Havertz has missed some fucking gilt-edged chances this week tbf. Saka is their only killer. Havertz, Trossard, Odegaard- none of these are killers. One thing I like about our squad is that we have 3 or 4 killers.
  12. Might watch the other match for the next 15 minutes. Very boring game.
  13. Most one footed player I’ve ever seen. cant even trap the ball with his right.
  14. Having similar revenues sustained. And probably need top 3-4 revenues to sustain title challenges season on season. Without the revenues you can’t pay the wages. Without the wages you can’t keep the top players. Like I said - I suspect we’ll have to sell a top player to invest significant money in the squad to comply with current and future financial regulations. The well managed top 6 clubs don’t have to do that. What goal. Miley.
  15. There’s no world where Newcastle United break the top 6 cartel as a concept through ‘organic growth’ An interest free new stadium or a world class academy isn’t organix growth.
  16. Aye. if revenue kept up with costs we wouldn’t have needed to sell Minteh and Anderson. If revenue was keeping up with costs we could continue to invest aggressively like Spurs. Other clubs don’t want to change the rules. Most other clubs actually want to make money/profit , not sustain higher and higher levels of profit. Most of the other 14 have already ‘made it’ by simply being in the PL. As a fanbase we need to wake up to that reality. Theres only us and Villa (maybe Chelsea) interested in making sustained losses over a long period of time to grow. Another 3 or 4 clubs need higher footballing losses short term to maintain their position in the league.
  17. Show me where I complained please. I said I don’t think we’ll do substantial business because our revenues aren’t increasing at a pace that allows us to strengthen the squad significantly without selling at least one of our better players OR Increasing revenues through other means. That’s not a complaint, I believe that’s the reality. There’s no emotion - positive or negative sentiment. It’s just where I think we are. The comment is in response to numerous posters talking about not wanting a ‘project player’ and wanting a ready made guy for the RW and CB spots. If we sign a RW this window, it’s because we’ve sold Almiron for a similar amount (net remaining small amortisation) to his replacements amortisation and wage cost for this accounting period. That’s likely a sub £35m player than a Tonali/Isak type marquee signing. Thats Minteh money.
  18. Dumb question. Im not frustrated at all. I’m not in this thread speaking of transfer targets or expecting us to sign some ready made players for our 2-3 key positions. From the start of the season I’ve been perfectly content to keep our powder dry and give Eddie the full season and see where we finish. I’m delighted that looks to be another CL push and a great cup run. I pray we end the season with a trophy and CL football and if we have to break up the band to rebuild so be it. Time will tell. I don’t get frustrated by football. It’s a game I can’t influence.
  19. @Unbelievable I’m not having this conversation again in full. With the power, influence and money PIF have I think they could do more to raise revenues if they applied creativity and aggressive action. Maybe it will come. If we don’t we’ll have to break this team apart and come again. Which is also fine.
  20. It is true - revenues aren’t keeping pace with costs (in line with current and new rules) to allow us to invest significant amount without sales. last years performance and our behaviour over multiple windows gives us a clue about our financial position. I can categorically say we can’t spend £90m without sales. That’s the likely cost of a ready made CB + RW.
  21. How much is that worth - net? £30m? That’s a couple players and new contracts for Hall and Livramento. Have to consider new rules too. Pump the revenues anyway we can
