I understand why he didn't. The timing for that move was now or never. But still.. because it was him and who he was and what then happened I was super disappointed. No time for him at all. In terms of good players for us - I have Given as one of the most disliked. Might be the only one. I try not to get too attached to footballers but he was arguably captain of the ship - and he jumped board. Nowt wrong with that as it wasn't his fault. But seemed very wrong.

The Battle For More Points than 2010/11 - SUCCESS!

It's about timing. They won their last 8 games our something close to that last season. If they can do that this season, they might very well win the league. By November they where out the race last season. -
One team having a bad night at the office doesn't mean the league is bad.... i hate this mentality of CL results = strength of a league. With that said its embarrassing for Leverkusen to lose 5-0 at home to a team which has struggled all season. I think the best teams in Europe are more spread out than we've been used too in the last decade. France, Germany, England, Spain and Italy all have teams capable of winning the CL this year. Good point.

It's not the City result in isolation like some are claiming. Nobody who watches Spurs play regularly have been impressed by their attacking. They've looked solid and strong but they've grinded out wins. That's great but that's the best it's got. 7 goals from open play in 12 games is bad work by any standard. They'll be fine in the end no doubt.
-
Agreed. They are not a great passing side like someone suggested. Good at keeping possession aye but rarely look dangerous.
-
Not at all. I've genuinely never been consistently impressed by the lad. Not to say he doesn't have the potential. His best run of form has been when he had Jonas for protection. While he's good at bringing the ball forward he doesn't offer a great deal going forward either imo. I'm only basing my opinion on his performances. If he was 28 I would want us to find an improvement. At 22, he's managed to become a bang average PL fullback which I guess is decent when you look at our academy lads at that age. I was more impressed with Charlie N'Zog at leftback tbh.

Cisse probably has better movement than Soldado outside the box e.g. he's always making a (offside (run) trying to get in behind. Neither is any good at hold up play which is vital in the PL imo
-
Not true at all.

I've always questioned the hype AVB gets on this board but sacking him would be very harsh. Mind, i've seen plenty of them this season. Twice in the flesh and they've been pretty boring.
-
Santon hasn't done much to impove his reputatipon. He's been bang average for us.
-
Better than Cisse atm
-
The whistle blew before he went to strike the ball. The City chance he missed shows his composure isn't where it needs to be,

Tbf to him he's better than mid-table Prem club. When Cleverley & Fellani play midield for Man Utd. he should be looking at top 6 at least. If we really pushed and aded a couple top signings we could challenge in that space. -
Shut up man. Shane Long is a good player. When he plays like this yeah....problem is he performs like this 5% of the time. Plus we all know that if we signed him Pardew will try to use him as a "shola". We need a target man its quite simple. Shane Long has always been a handful for defenders and has always been useful uptop by himself. He's a good Premiership striker of which we don't have many. You can keep telling yourself that but good premiership strikers don't have a career best of 8 and none of the teams in the current top 10 would go near him. Bellamy's highest career PL total for us was 9 and we challenged for the title. Condescend that you f***ing numpty. Current top 10.. we are playing Shola Ameobi and Papiss Cisse ffs. Bellamy offered a lot more outside of goals and besides we had Shearer then to hold the ball up and bang in the goals. What part of we need a target man upfront to compliment what we have and Long isn't that do you not get? Its about partnerships and we already have what long provides but not something to compliment that. Now settle down sunshine. I've already said i'm impressed by Long's all round game. His hold-up is good and he wins his share in the air. Watch your tone Mole.

Derby at home.. all pumped up init. The home game last year was hilarious. Bullied by Lukaku for ages, he scores. Then Sammy smacks it off Cisse's arse for the winner.

You referring to me? I haven't said he was offside against Norwich, I've just said he's had offside goals incorrectly allowed previously.

Official: Yoan Gouffran signs new contract with Goztepe

Hate Duff. Typified the overpaid, under-performing mercenaries of that era. He was essentially the Robert replacement right? Crap. Thought it was a good signing at the time mind. Chelsea sold us a total dud. Same with Man Utd. and Smith., -
Colo got mugged in the air for the goal too. Based on performances this season it's a no-brainer. Reputation and status will keep Colo in the side.

15 from what is a midfield position is overly ambitious IMO. 10-12 would be excellent. Anything less than 8 would be disappointing. Playing one game a week I think he'll be able to keep this up for awhile. -

You can tell he's a natural striker. He gets into some great positions in the box. It's because of this he could've easily added another couple easy goals to his tally.
