I dont think he meant grant holt was a luxury player, more it was a luxury over us as they had another striker on the bench. As much as i hate Pardew this is correct tbf. Lies, Ranger was on the bench.

This, absolutely. Cabaye? I don't see how anyone can argue that our team with Cabaye and HBA won't be infinitely more threatening than without them. We were threatening v Man Utd and Arsenal without them because our tactics allowed it. If we setup like we did today, it wouldn't matter who we had out it would still be complete dog shit. yes but we were also wide open at the back and conceded 11 goals.
-
why? We've been creating chances and scoring goals in his abscence but the problem has been conceding and not seeing games out. What will ben arfa do to rectify that? Nothing. Keep the ball upfield, relieve pressure by meaning teams have to drop deep to keep an eye on him etc. Saylor back next week is the bigger after Cabaye, but HBA will make a massive difference now Ba has gone.

If his wife is very ill then I can't see what sort of chat could ever resolve the issue. If the wife is very ill, going to Argentina, the top country regarding medical science will certainly help. She doesn't speak much english so might prefer a hospital with spanish speaking staff. Since when ? Since wor lass was speaking to her and the 2 kids in Fenwicks a few months ago. She said she was really nice but apologised for her english and the kids (who speak perfect english) were translating for her.

Going by some of the reactions on here I wouldn't be surprised. 2 points off the relegation zone. Have you seen the table? It's not too much for people to expect us to try for the win. Playing for a draw is a dumb and risky strategy. It nearly cost us the precious 1 point right at the end. We got 1 point, which is great. But trying for 1 point is nothing short of disgraceful. TBF Poot we have been conceding goals left right and centre, im never going to turn my nose up at a 0-0 away from home, especially after the last couple of months and the lack of players we have. It wasn't great, its a start and a platform with Reading to come to SJP, hopefully we will have a couple of bodies through the door. Small beginnings, a clean sheet, a point, a free week now to get players fit and ready for Reading, A good Howking for Southampton off Chelsea on tuesday night (please!), Saylor back in the squad next week and hopefully HBA the week after that and a couple of players through the door along with Colocinni convincing his missus that the healthcare in this country will be better than in Argentina and bobs your wifes brother.

Spot on, we played for a clean sheet and not to lose. Something i ordinarily don't like to do and something i hated Allardyce for, but i think today after the past few results we needed to do. Again I've got to pick up on the point that we need HBA back to create goals or goal scoring opportunities? I'm not saying him returning to the team won't but how the fuck can a team playing in the EPL not have a shot on goal or create even one chance for their striker? We did have a shot on goal, Obertan had a decent shot saved in the first half.

Simply have to win no matter what. -
Needs to work on his right foot and also still needs to toughen up a bit as he got knockled off the ball too easily at times looking for a foul. otherwise did what we know he can do which is retain possession, dribble and pick a pass.

Don't Go, Please Don't Go, Cos i'm Gonna miss your love, The minute you walk out that door, Don't go

IS she Argentinean though? He moved to Milan when he was 18 and played in Spain for years, is she not Spanish?

I blame The Sun's open letter saying hands off Las Malvinas.

Yeah, the story was written by a fuckin' mackem supporter, Martin Hardy. Theres a surprise! Martin is not a mackem. Used to be a ST at NUFC, as was his mam and his sister. Like i already said him and sister travelled with us to OT for the semi finals in 98 and 99.
-
Anyone booked to travel with the Ukranian Airline Aerosvit? If so they've just gone tits up.

I used to know the lad quite well as it happens, used to go to the match with him home and away. He used to sell The Mag outside the ground and around the pubs and also write for The Mag along with George Caulkin. Went to both of our FA Cup Semi Finals at OT in 98 and 99 with him and he's a good lad, not a bullshitter, so i think there is something to the story. Not seen him for years mind as he obviously had to stop going the match once he was an established full time football journalist and cover all North east Football instead.

Try reading past that post Sorry, i'm at work and have to duck in and out of the forum quickly while i'm waiting for reports to run etc.

Nope, big grin on his face (laughing at the p*ssed up and embarassing poor widow woman) and also smiling for photos with other people as well. Son looked bemused. You sure it was him then ? Aye, he posed for photos. Was a couple of other people their with him with their kids so assume it was some sort of birthday do for the kids. Sophie Webster from Coronation Street was also in with Josh McReachan (sic) who is on loan at Boro.
