  1. Honestly, I'll be calling Cristiano the best Ronaldo to grace the game if he is successful in the PL at this age. I'm extremely intrigued by this signing.
  2. You live Ronaldo? Idiot. (no safety smiley)
  3. I might be looking at it wrongly, but it looked like he was trying to get a touch on the ball with his left leg and kind of missed it and stamped on Fornals?
  4. I mean, why isn't the situation ever taken into account anymore? It's only the consequence. He's clearly off balance from a push in the back and kind of misses the ball? It's not deliberate and even less so given the little nudge/push in the back.
  5. I agree, but it's not like Payet is the only one that gets bottles thrown at him. It's up to the league to punish these fans and not the players. I've seen it happen so many times, but never seen a player react like Payet and consequently Alvaro did.
  6. Horrible from the fans, but you rarely see a player lose it and start throwing the stuff back at them like Payet and Alvaro were doing. Quite unprofessional behaviour from both. This while Nice players at first tried to calm the fans down.
  7. Has a contract worth 35m annually until 2023. So highly doubt that tbh.
  8. Completely agree with Wullie. For himself and his career there isn't a better decision to make. I understand we'd all love to see him in the PL, but that was never going to happen. Now he can focus on the Champions League and the World Cup.
  9. He is, but he's also better than what they have partnering Maguire, so all in all a good signing.
  10. Can't believe people are doubting Kane. Going to get 30 + 15 assists in the league this season if he's allowed to take penalty.
  11. Wait what? Didn't the make the final two seasons ago and then the semi's last season? I think they've made some very very shrewd signings and must be considered one of the favourites to win it all. Donnarumma, Ramos and Wijnaldum would improve most teams. If Verratti and Neymar can stay healthy for a season they'll be favourites.
  12. Obviously Italy were the better side, but it's not like you were convinced that they were going to win it. Apart from Chiesa the other ones weren't creating anything. They fully deserved to win and controlled the game, but I really thought England were going to hold on. Immobile has been such a disappointing player. Doesn't do anything for me.
  13. Disagree that Italy were absolutely awful. They were playing a European final away at Wembley and got a goal against them right from the start, with 60k fans pushing the opposition. They just took longer to settle and in a moment like this you need to be careful because with that atmosphere and the energy that goal gave England they could very well concede another one. However, apart from the goal England weren't threatening either. I think over the full 120 minutes, Italy was the slightly better team and deserved to win, and over the full tournament they were the clear deserved winners given the teams they beat on the way and they did that.
  14. Nah it's never a red. Although, how Jorginho wasn't sent off is another one. Thought the ref did well for most parts, let the game flow compared to if you watched Brazil v Argentina where the ref was stopping at every possible opportunity. But that stamp on Jack was as clear as a day. Can't believe it wasn't given by VAR.
  15. Completely agree with this. Their fullbacks are also their weakest points, players like Sancho and Grealish could've really changed the game. It's weird though, cause he's been cautious all tournament and then makes an absolute bold (moronic as well imo) decision to sub two young guys on last minute of the game for penalty kick and let them take it.
  16. Yeah I mean fair enough. I do disagree, but I got this hatred for defensive and cautious managers so I'm probably biased. Especially when I feel if you look at squads, than England has probably the strongest squad in the world at the moment when it comes to offensive players.
  17. It's grim, but it looks like they're trying to help stop people from entering the stadium without tickets.
  18. Which goes to show. Doesn't factor the magnitude of the moment into it. He seems like a nice guy, but I feel he's out of his depth and that England are there because of the squad they have and not the manager.
  19. Nah man. It's been a weird tournament. I'm sad it has ended like this for you lot, but at the end of the day the best team won deservedly. I know a lot of you respect and love Southgate and for the last two major championships you've finished 4th and 2nd, but there is just something about this cautious football which I've been warning about. England hasn't faced any great teams in the Euros until tonight, and I thought England looked well when they tried to play football but when they wanted to defend deep and invite Italy they were dominated. I can't applaud someone who has players like Grealish, Foden, Sancho, Rashford, Kane, Sterling and still decides to be cautious. All these guys would walk into the Brazilian squad, you can't say that about prior generations. Adding to that, those decisions to throw Sancho and Rashford on just for the penalties is absolutely shocking and I felt it from the moment those subs were made it was over. That being said he shouldn't be the only one held accountable. Sterling who has been fantastic during the tournament should've had the decency to demand he takes a pk and not shy away from it. Same goes for players like Shaw, Stones and even Grealish. To let Sancho and Saka step up there and take the 4th and 5th penalty is shameful.

    Copa America

Messi deserved it and very happy for him. Now that won't hold him back when compared to Cristiano in the future (never should have, but now it definitely won't, although let's be honest here, the Copa America doesn't mean as much as the Euro's given how often it is played). As for the game, Argentina just wanted it far more than Brazil. Was a poor game and Argentina is an extremely limited side nowadays, but their willpower and obviously an individual error won them the game. That was a champions mentality they had for the 25 last minutes, whether you hate it or love it it usually works to be dirty and kill the game off every 2 minutes. I wish we had that in us, unfortunately under Tite we've won two Fair Play awards instead It's really not though. Not sure about Maradona, but as a comparison. Pelé played 1 Copa America as a 19 year old, scoring 8 goals, being player of the tournament and not winning it due to a draw against Argentina in Argentina with 85k fans. Messi on the other hand has played 6 Copa America, so at some point he should've won at least one, and let's be honest he should've won at least 3 of them given the talent he has played with.
  21. Tbh, in this thread it feels the opposite.
  22. Not what I said, I suggested pata's pattern was a result of those comments. I think Pata thought it was a bit of a laugh the same way most of us look at it. Wully, however, feels disrespected.
