  1. It's a genuine concern, I'm of the thought that for that money he should be sold, but many in the Carroll bid thread are saying we're back to the Championship and while I think we're not a one man team many are.
  2. Genuine question. If he does leave and we don't get anyone in. Will we stay up? Will Shola, Best, Lovenkrands and Rangers be able to provide goals for the rest of the season? This is a genuine concern, I don't value Carroll at £35 million, but right now with no replacement in he shouldn't be sold and we should take our chances on developing him further. But what if we have no one? Will we stay up? Edit: To make this post clearer for everyone, I'm of the belief we will stay up without him in the team. However, many think we won't in the Andy Carroll thread and therefore I raised this subject.
  3. Would you guys take this, unrealistic but still, Im fucking dreaming already I hope Barton - Tiote - Nolan Ganso Ben Arfa Neymar Sextastic
  4. We'll just develop Ranger into the new Carroll and deadlier
  5. We shouldn't accept till the 11th hour, honestly. We have another 6-7 hours to put in bid por other strikers. I'd try to get someone else sorted before letting him go. Would be ridiculous.
  6. Sorry, for once its not Mike Ashley's fault, it will be his fault if we don't reinvest that money on other players if this deal goes through. But saying its his fault, come on, £35 million. We could buy like Neymar and Ganso for that money, and both are twice the player Carroll is. It's just crazy money. But I'd still not sell him in the last day of a fucking transfer window. Crazy if its done.
  7. The best part would be an accepted bid, and Carroll and Nolan calling a press conference telling them to fuck right off.
  8. Be gutted to see him leave, but wow that is crazy money for Carroll. He's good, He's young, He's a local lad, but £35 million! Fucking hell how the market is inflated, its fucking crazy. I would snapp their hands off would this been two years ago, but now? How many players can we get for that money WHO WOULD LIKE TO COME!??!?!
  9. £35 million for Carroll is crazy money IF and thats a big IF we has someone in line to replace him immediately. And also IF this is all true. Gutted if it happens like.
  10. This. I'm born in Sweden and love Sweden, Sweden has given so much, but with my whole family being Brazilian, and only me and my brothers being born in Sweden in the whole family I have Brazilian blood and therefore root for Brazil over Sweden anyday. And also that way I'll be less disappointed.

What a player, and what a playboy. He wanted to reach his 1000 goals in his career so he decided to include goals and youth level and in friendly matches. What a legend. When he got cut off the national team for the '98 World Cup in France was very emotional and I'll never forget his goals in the '94 World Cup especially the two he scored against Sweden. The first one in the grupstage and then the header in the semi-finals. Great memories of a great playboy How many kids does he have?
  12. Im with you on this one, I'll think he'll stay. He's a geordie ffs.
  13. I wouldn't sell him now. Sorry but we have no time to find replacement and I doubt we can get someone in. Right now he has no value as he can't be sold. Btw lock this thread. No more talk about this.
  14. says who? If you think Carroll is better than Suarez, you're daft. Suarez is a big gamble considering the amount of strikers with much better goal records who've come out of Holland and flopped. I'm not saying he's better than Carroll, but honestly he has proven that he's a good striker for the national team too during the world cup. Afonso Alves, Mateja Kezman, and those guys never proved it for their national teams in a big tournament. He hardly set the place on fire, man. He got 3 goals. 3 goals in a World Cup in a team with two other strikers getting a few share of the goals is pretty good. I'm not saying he set the place on fire, I just said he's more proven on the international stage than Kezman and Afonso Alves, and even Dirk Kuyt were. He scored 16 in 38 for Uruguay which isn't very bad. He's also a way better goalkeeper than Carroll. On that logic we should sign David Healy. The "international stage" is far weaker than the domestic one. On that logic we should look to promote you as Chief Scout at the club. I mean Northern Ireland finished 4th in the World Cup and Healy was one of the major reasons why they reached there. Healy also scored 81 in 108 for his club which played in the Champions League. No...just no... Sorry like but there's a very long list of players who have been bought off the back of three or four games at a major tournament and absolutely bombed. Suarez might be fantastic but judging him because he scored two goals against South Korea (their back four made up mainly of players from the Saudi league) is very ill advised. He's got one goal in this year's Champions League and they got knocked out, so I wouldn't go bandying that around as evidence of his ability to do it in England. Of course, I'm not disagreeing with you, but there's also a very big chance of him succeeding it all depends to how he adapts, what I'm saying is that there's no doubt he has talent. He's proven it for Ajax and he's proven it in arguably the biggest tournament of the world (at least for me it is). However, nothing says he's a sure thing in the Premier League, or Bundesliga or Seria A or even the Irish league. I'm just saying that he's a good player
  15. No doubt, but Ben Arfa barely speaks a word of English and I doubt that they will understand each other that well and be able to develop a great understanding during just a couple of weeks. And I'm agreeing with you about Jonas, I'd sell him if we got decent money in, but don't change something right now. We're on track to finish top half and challenging for that Europa League qualifier spot, why change it now? Rubbish. Jose had the easiest afternoon of his career against Everton with Ben Arfa down the left because Ben Arfa was busy murdering Everton every time he touched the ball. Again, remember that it was also way to easy as they had no threat on their right flank. But again play Tottenham with Lennon - Hutton, Man Utd with Rafael - Nani, Arsenal with Walcott - Sagna and it will be much harder. Trust me I'd love to see Ben Arfa and Jose working together, and while i believe he'd be more effective (might be wrong) centrally behind the striker theres no doubt that if they clicked they'd be the deadliest left flank in the Premier League.

We're on track to finish top half and challenging for that Europa League qualifier spot, why change it now? Aye, because English is José Enrique's first language No, what I meant was that he could at least build an understanding as he knows a little bit of english. With Jonas it's pure spanish, and therefore easier. I mean imagine Ben Arfa and Jose speaking French and Spanish to each other. Ben Arfa: Passe moi le ballon! Jose: Que? De que hablas hijo de puta. Ben Arfa: Hijo de puta? T'un fils de pute. Boom and they starting fighting, its just obviously going to be disastrous. It's just better to let Jose tell Jonas how beautiful his hair is.
  17. Definitely agree with you guys on this one, highlighting 'short-term'!

  21. Why? Nolan is a fantastic captain who keeps things ticking along but also chips in with more than his fair share of goals. Jonas, erm, can run the ball up the pitch and Falls over. But you can't take away the fact that Jonas makes us better defensively though. He and Enrique have a very good understanding and while I'd love Jonas to learn how to kick a ball I still wouldn't move him out of the team. Right now we can't afford to move him. I feel that Ben Arfa would be much more successful centrally, and yes he was just immense on the left hand side against Everton but to disrupt the understanding between Jonas and Jose right now would be bad, wait until we offload Jonas in the summer
