I remember going to watch them in the away end at Livi with Burley in charge. Vlad was in the crowd and Hearts had 3 of the stands. Not sure how far it was into the run but they won 4-0

I couldn’t get energised about people complaining of losing loyalty points they picked up years ago. Me and my mates used to go all over 15-20 years ago as you could get tickets for nearly every away game as a member. Didn’t pick up a loyalty point between us. It’s so complex now, it’s hard to think of anything that the club would do that wouldn’t get some people angry. Can totally understand the anger of many who feel stuck though, and occasions like a cup final has to cause upset when you think you’ve got no chance.

I don’t think it’s bad for them to provide a twice yearly update tbh.

6:52 train from Edinburgh to Euston on the Saturday getting in around lunch time and a couple nights in the Hilton. Could do with an outdoor drinking area and some cans the amount already spent. 😂 Id like to think no issues with a ticket being on the cup scheme and having come down from Scotland for each round.

I do agree with that, but I also think there’s been a change in the general culture. Even if clubs hadn’t started to focus on older people with money and families, I doubt it would be like it was back then.
-
I think the cultures changed a bit too tbf, so it’s not all down to being priced out.
-
It’s not even just about trying to catch up with those above, it’s about not standing still and then being left behind.

I think our posts overlapped. I wouldn’t consider it a senseless argument, but I don’t think any football ground stays the same. We, and any other football club will move on at some point so expecting something to just stay the same is delaying the inevitable. We’re going to have to do something at some point with the stadium, so what’s the point in being left behind until it’s almost forced on us? My first game was 1993 and the East Stand is the only one anywhere near similar to what it was then. What we have isn’t exactly historic beyond its location. It’s a late 90s stadium with a small bit from the 70s that nobody seems to like, and it’s too small and out of date already. Has there even been a period as long as the last 25/26 years where nothing has progressed at SJP or most other stadiums?
-
Well you must have a reason for wanting the stadium to stay as it is.
-
What are your reasons, then we can judge.

Why do some people get so precious about others discussing the football?

The lack of in game management is concerning. When we aren’t performing, it just seems that we plough on without any adjustments, until panic stations of course. Miley should have been on far earlier and Botman should be starting every game when fit.

It’s a tough listen. Shearers questions are awful.

I’d quite like something that isn’t a bowl, but four individual stands. Like a mega modern steep version of somewhere like Ibrox including a brick facade.
-
I hope this is the case. There would be little point. The Gallowgate is the only decent part of the ground imo. A new stand would be pretty underwhelming. Has to be a new stadium.
-
Hope we never go down the route of fans with a drum. Tough watch at Palace this with that shite in the background.

It was first come first served when the 1000 were released in the summer following the takeover. That’s how I got mine back after giving it up when Rafa left. My mate was randomly placed about 400th in the queue and got us 4, when I was at about 16k. Pure luck.

I think that’s a little embarrassing tbh. There’s a fine line between trying to create an atmosphere, like getting like minded people together, and stuff like that. It almost reads to me like organised fun, when the boring boss at work tries to put a committee together to force people to enjoy themselves.
-
Totally agree. Saw a Twitter rant saying we shouldn’t extend the ground because they people who complain about not being able to get tickets are leaving early. Bizarre. There are plenty of ST holders around me in the 35min pint crew and who leave early. I’m not hugely bothered personally, but there’s people like the one I saw tweeting clearly just creating a straw man in an attempt to boost their own fandom.

The chilli loaded chips are nice btw. In other news, I see the government are going to use powers to push through all sorts of big new developments, such as a third runway at Heathrow, other airport extensions and a huge Universal Studios down south. Would be nice for a brand new stadium or stadium development to get the same treatment and not be held up for years.

I’m not sure why people get so worked up at others discussing a game and what went wrong. Even the strengths and weaknesses of a manager or player in the aftermath. I don’t see much over analysis either. ‘Oh well, just move on’ whilst shoot anyone commenting down is annoying whether it’s on the internet or on the train home.

Was that third row from the back? I let a couple of women past but didn’t hear any moaning.
-
They were brilliant I thought and knew exactly how to play us. It was obvious from the off. They may be an unfashionable club, but they have an excellent manager and some very good players. Huijsen, Kerkez, Semenyo and Kluivert especially and he has Brooks and Christie playing very well. It’s the best team I’ve seen against us at SJP in a long time. I mean we weren’t at it and I’d say only Tonali really got pass marks, but I do think a lot of it was down to their approach.

I had a snood on and put it up to cover my whole face.

Was I the only person cringing at the ‘we want you to stay’ song? He’s been ok on this run because of his attributes compared to Pope, but let’s not go overboard.
