  1. All the noises were he wanted to be in London and he’d pretty much rejected us in the past.
  2. True. Our approach was all wrong. Pretty much all the targets were likely to pick one of the other clubs as soon as they came in. Maybe apart from Delap who I think made an error going to Chelsea. Caulkin was on The Athletic podcast earlier in the week talking about the summer saying we made a deliberate decision to shop in the PL as we couldn’t find much value abroad. Baffling. The ‘poor us’ stuff doesn’t wash. We spent an absolute shit load and aren’t really stronger anywhere.
  3. No way should that game be ‘filed away in the depths’. It was a humiliation on the biggest stage. Big lessons need to be learned from it in the nativity of how we approached that second half.

Aye. Gordon has performed in the shop window Champions League. He’s done next to nothing in the league.

The pile on from journalists, and ex-pros who should know better, is bizarre giving some of the tripe far more experienced players are serving up.
  6. Not a fair comparison, which is why the binary in/out argument is boring. Some defeats, like today and Brentford, are far more worthy of criticism than Spurs, for example, is worthy of praise. PSG was very good. City at home in the league too. I’m struggling to thing of many other performances that were as good as today, Brentford twice, West Ham and Sunderland were bad.
  7. Nearly all those targets were long shots, especially when clubs who could offer money money on wages came in. Total misjudgement.
  8. There’s no way the ‘mentality monster’ lets that ball run out in the Corner if that’s a Champions League game. Shitebag perfomance.
  9. It was a shambles today. Far too often he’s needing to change it 20-30min in and needing a big half time team talk. Unfortunately, these kinds of performances are becoming more common than the good ones. In all honestly, I can’t really be bothered with the Eddie IN/OUT chat, as it just entrenches people in camps. This league season has been nowhere near good enough though.
  10. I mean winning something is bigger for us, but there’s no doubt it’s the highest profile game the club will have played in. Champions League knock out against one of the biggest clubs in the world.
  11. You must have missed the multiple 1-0 defeats at Wigan every Boxing Day.
  12. Would have liked to have seen Neave and more of Shahar to be honest, but so long as we’re not moaning about fatigue in the next few matches. Can’t complain too much.
  13. Stupid sharing penalties around. Should keep the same taker regardless.

Thought the was good yesterday and although he did come a little deep at times, the criticism on the BBC was a bit strong from Shearer and Murphy. Still pretending he was a number 9. Rooney made a better point after the game regarding coaching him.. Easy to forget, although 24 now, he’s not far over a year into first team football.
  15. The most extreme comments get the most traction. It’s also a bit ironic that the likes of Luke Edwards and Craig Hope then feed it by exaggerating it for their own purpose. Not sure if Luke actually thinks he does Howe a favour in how he reacts. In reality, he’s more like to piss people off and move some fairly moderate people more towards a stronger position.
  16. True. It’s the same with everything these days. It’s harder to have a proper discussion about things because so many want to grandstand one way or the other. Too much importance is put on Twitter gobshites too, though I understand why the players would use it to create more of a siege mentality.
  17. A continuation of the poor form could end his time here too. Not that he would do what you suggest, and he should go anyway if he did, but the club should be the priority, not just desperately trying to save his job.
  18. It’s a month and a half away! If we’re going to pretend it should be the be all and end all like the mackems do, then the best way to prepare for it would to be to go into it on form. We should be above our seasons hinging on the fuckin derby like them lot.

I was at his last home game against Norwich and I don’t even recall an anti-Bobby feeling at that one. If anything, the players were getting the brunt. Sure Bellamy had a post match outburst which is what I most remember it for. The mackems must be pissing themselves at how many run with what they made up, including on here it seems.

    That last paragraph is ludicrous.

Couldn’t hear that in the Gallowgate either tbf.
  22. We spent £250m in the summer. We need quality, not back up to mend the errors. There’s multiple reasons for what we’re seeing, but the idea Howe has nothing to do with it is ridiculous.
