Swansea have played a variation on possession football for a few years. was more direct and fun under Martinez, very dour Italian style keep-ball under Sousa and now more of a perfect balance under Rodgers.
it just gives an insight of pardews football philosophy. a swansea team that cost a fraction of nufc yet we resort to launching the ball up to two beanpoles every game.
I'm in agreement with you fwiw.
Don't know about bias, unless you're suggesting they wouldn't have spent so much time on the replays had it been the other way round.
I appreciate, at times like that, just how difficult it is for a ref to make decisions, let alone correct ones.
Not moreso than Beardsley, man.
I realise it's too soon to judge when you consider how often Beardsley played for us, I was projecting forward in time.
Always been impressed with his footwork, better with the ball on the deck despite his prowess in the air.
Hate hoofball and from what I've seen it doesn't suit Best either.
I've said this before, but the amount of times he's showing for the ball and doesn't receive it boils my piss because I know how good he can be at making defenders look like mugs. It's one of his strong points (he has a fair few tbf).
Even one of our own defenders said (in training) you have to stay back from him because if you get too close he'll just embarass you.
Shola is often good at receiving the ball and keeping possession in a deep position. In todays game that's all he was useful for.
Someone like Bellamy would have been 10 times more effective as an outlet.
edit: Sorry, should be in the Shola thread.
Pretty sure they'd never let a ref with personal preferences do a game, so why do it with presenters/commentaters. Someone should write to Sky and complain. Get James on the case.
