I seem to recall a HBA quote saying something along the lines of 'It's not about the money.' He wanted to play football. Not sure these excessive wage demands are accurate, [any more than the Steven Taylor ones are. Not saying Taylor didn't reject an offer, but none of us (incl the press) know the reasons for that at present - if we ever will.]

The poll doesn't ask if you recognise how good Taylor is, it asks what you'd do under the circumstances of giving the lad £60k a week. And don't discount Hughton in all of this, he has been buying defenders and maybe wants rid himself.

That from a twit/blog? Anyway, it's no big loss with our current set-up. He's got bad advice from his father and now from his agent. Or.. he does want out following the bust-up with AC and finding no-one sided with him. He's a clown by all accounts and they tend to wear people thin when they don't know when to stop, dressing room harmony is going to be better without him by the looks of it. Football-wise he is middle of the road, he had heart though. Don't know what to make of this bonus dispute that supposed to be rumbling around the rest of the team, I don't believe it at present but, well it's possible I guess.

You both have a valid point, I should have considered my choice of words with more care. To celebrate your team scoring kind of requires using some emotion doesn't it. Perhaps some emotions are more positive and others negative. I am even mindful, later, that whilst the joy, delight or happiness I feel following a win must be offset by the misery of the oppositions fans. Are they in direct relation? For every time there is a winner there must also be a loser. And ultimately the majority lose. Maybe I think too much and am over-sensitive. And I have been known to clap an opposition goal, begrudgingly, if it was a quality goal well worked and taken.

I don't understand this attitude any time I see it, the posters seem oblivious to the fact they are doing exactly the same thing as those they condemn. Goes around, comes around is another way of saying karma, and a lot of people are willing to accept the idea of karma when they see an imagined foe suffering, but they never seem to be able to project it on to the next logical stage. You reap what you sow, sounds like pretentious preaching I know but it is such a succinct way of saying exactly what happens if one would just study it a little without all the personal investment of irrational emotion.

Have to confess I'm still praying this one comes off. Ever since Andrey Arshavin was allegedly on the quayside I've been waiting for an exciting attacking mid to be signed, haven't we all.

I'm guessing at this point he never thought for a moment it was actually a political rally anymore than Sarah actually gave any thought to what she was writing - pure prejudice I think. He was waving goodbye to the moustache as someone has already pointed out.
