    Hatem Ben Arfa

Finally got round to checking youtube, he's certainly got some skills. I'm loving him already. Hope this comes off now.
  2. Anyone remember wanting rid of Hughton because he was part of the 'cockney mafia'? I know a lot of us were not overly impressed with him becoming manager at the time, me included, but always got the impression it was just down to the fact we didn't think he was good enough. Sunderland fans on RTG seem to think it was because of the 'cockney mafia' idea mentioned.
  3. Given that Norwich, PSV and Rangers all got 2 goals against us it's difficult to imagine we'll be keeping a clean sheet at Old Trafford. Combine that with not many goals in our side and I'm afraid this one's a loss. 2 or 3 nil I guess. If Ben Arfa signs and plays we'll get a goal somehow.

Anticipation mounts, how long before first tantrum? Glad though, seriously need some flair about the team. Started counting chickens now even though I know I shouldn't.
  5. So, the bookies have Hughton as the most likely first sacking in the Premiership. I think they've got that one completely wrong and it's probably worth backing against. C Hughton 4/1 R Mancini 5/1 R Martinez 6/1 M O'Neill 8/1 R Di Matteo 9/1 I Holloway 10/1 S Bruce 12/1 M McCarthy 14/1 A Grant 14/1 A McLeish 16/1 S Allardyce 18/1 R Hodgson 20/1 O Coyle 22/1 T Pulis 22/1 C Ancelotti 33/1 H Redknapp 33/1 D Moyes 40/1 A Wenger 66/1 A Ferguson 80/1 http://www.paddypower.com/football/football-specials/premier-league-sack-race?ev_oc_grp_ids=21460
  6. Conversely, team for team we're better.
  7. Definitely stay up but expecting some miserable results here and there.
  8. We were at our most threatening with Shola and Lovens on. Rest of the time Rangers found it far too easy to defend against us.
  9. Fuck me it's livened up now, that should have been 2-2
  10. Was that Guthrie that gave the ball away leading to their second goal, coz he's done that a lot today.
  11. Nice to watch up until the final ball. We need a mobile striker, some movement. Defence a little shaky too, but overall a decent show so far.
  12. It's risky, but I'd rather take the gamble of playing a high line than sit back and invite pressure onto us. I was thinking about how many pacy forwards we're going to meet over the course of the season, though I know what you mean too.
  13. Waddle's right about our high line like.
  14. Perch has been pretty much missing all game so far. Hope he improves sharpish.
  15. My comment was in response to... ..not Towelie's ..which is a pretty accurate statement.
  16. Are you taking the piss? No, he's probably the least effective player in that 11. Flatters to decieve and he has quite a few of you fooled because he runs around a lot, but so do headless chickens. Just my opinion like, but compared to some of the players we've had in that position over the years the guy is a waste of space.

It would seem a nailed on bet that he could be sold for at least double that 2 or 3 seasons hence, unless he broke a leg or something. Not that I'm advocating buying with a view to profit but if Ashley misses out here he is a mug imo. (A rich mug - and I'll never quite understand how he got rich in the first place.)
  18. Mail claims that Wigan Athletic have completed a loan agreement with Man U for Cleverley.
