Project, I fucking hate that buzzword in Football after hearing the Man City lot use it every five seconds in every interview they did for the last couple of years. Not having a go at you Village Idiot, just every time the Man City lot said it I found myself wanting to kick their faces in. Anyway I'm just glad they've been slowed down. Can't see them signing any players much better then the ones they already have without Champions League Football and hopefully if they qualify next year FIFA will have brought in the rules about spending vs turnover, I can hope anyway

I'd say they're two extremes, one far too high and the other far too low (in some area's anyway). Accepting £2m for Kadar at this stage in his development for instance is crackers IMO. I've gone somewhere in the middle. I'd accept lower fee's but I've added a bit to each since this is supposed to be what we'd accept without even thinking, a too good to possibly turn down fee. If it was a realistic minimum fee things would look quite different.

So if someone comes in with a £2m bid for Guthrie, 750k for Lovenkrands, £2.5m for Routledge and £2.5m for Williamson they're all bids too good to turn down?? Who would we get to replace each of them for that money? Also Kadar's a young lad with lots of potential and you'd take £2m for him in a heartbeat? You're both fucking nuts IMO

The way I read it is that its the point where you wouldn't even need to think about it. I also find it strange to celebrate not being Portsmouth. They've been relegated with a fraction of the debt we had when we went down (and still have). The Spuds may have been an annoying media delusion for the past several years but Man City are the worst thing to happen to Football since Hillsborough.

The extra TV money will help us towards breaking even if we don't see much of an increase in costs. I still can’t work out how our debt has doubled in three years. The initial £100m cleared the existing debts and relegation cost us £40m. But we’ve also made a net profit on transfers of £25m, reduced the wage bill by £21m and received £14m in parachute payments. I know these figures aren’t spot on but if the debt is currently about £180m that gives us an average operating loss of £25m a season. Is this right? Where are you getting £180m from?, it'll be more like £140 surely?

Swings and roundabouts, he would take pressure off the defence but then put it straight back on them when he ran into the defender 10 yards further down the pitch. Our biggest problem was everything, conceding too many and scoring too few and not only because we didn't create either (the likes of Owen missed some excellent chances). Of course creating chances was a problem and he's one of the players to blame for that. But other players in the same side were equally to blame for that and did fuck all else for the side while they were at it.

Nobody looked a geniune threat on a regular basis last season and he did well more then just at Old Trafford. He had plenty of bad games but also some good ones in a side full of under performing players. As usual some seem not to realise that even when he fails to produce an end product he's still giving us an outlet and taking pressure off the rest of the side with his running.

I think awful is overstating the point Definitely, the way he's talking you'd think he was one of our worst players last season or something I'm sure he could have done better in a side that wasn't totally devoid of any confidence. Especially if he'd had a player on the opposite side of the pitch to take some of the markers away from him, like Routledge has this season.

£40m out of £50m = 80% They were the figures being bandied around earlier in the season, but I’m not sure they add up. Turnover was £86m. Loss in TV money takes it to about £50m, but we received about £14m in parachute payments and this year’s transfer dealings brought in a similar amount. Also wages were £71m but the accounts say they have only been reduced by £21m. I'm not sure the accounts say that at all, the £21m is what we brought in from player sales AFAICS.

It's not in there at all But you shouldn't believe what Ernst and Young say like, they're part of the great deception together with Ashley and all that..... Well they did manage to hide all that extra debt for Shepherd that Mike only found after he bought the club. Have we always included manager's pay in the wage bill or is that new? Is the directors pay included in the £73m? That's a pretty big drop in revenue, a lot lower than Llambias was saying only 4 months before the end of that accounting period when he was saying turnover was £100m. I guess some of it could be put down to the boycott, but pretty worrying nonetheless. Ashley's probably lost us more in revenue than he's "put in". Part of the drop in revenue is due to outsourced catering. Instead of recieving all the money (and costs) from catering we now just recieve a fee. Oh and at the last sentence.

The most obvious ones you've missed are Coloccini and Gutierrez. Take a look at the NUFC.com transfers section for a full list of all players in and out. Its nowhere near £40m, more like £20m, which all comes from the current season.

Milner's attitude over getting a new contract was a disgrace, most clubs would of sold him over the way he conducted himself. You can't ask for a new contract just one year after you signed a new 4 year one. Especially when you haven't even played well since signing the original deal. What a load of bollocks. We were receiving large bids for him and he'd obviously get a pay rise if he moved, so he would be stupid not to ask for a pay rise for staying. It's not like he refused to play or anything either, he was MotM in his last game for us after which Keegan said He signed a 4 year contract the year before and played no more then average for that year. Obviously he saw an opportunity to up his wage when Villa came in. But just because he can get away with it doesn't mean I have to agree with it or like it. Do you really think a player should get a pay rise whenever another club comes in for them?, no matter how they've played or when they've signed there last contract?

I did try to explain where the £60m could come from. I don't think it is that far off really. At best its correct but being used in a very misleading way, possibly due to simply being misunderstood. After all when Football fans talk about transfer profit they don't mean accounting profit, they mean transfer money in vs transfer money out.

I'd predict a smaller loss then the last accounts, but a significant loss none the less.

Didn't realise he was talking about transfers since nowt is mentioned about that in the title. That's almost worse really since we can all see how much has been spent and brought in through transfers (within a few million either way anyway). We've brought in about £75m from transfers and spent about £56m.
