    RIP sale thread.

And there it is. It really is fucking easy to make this club a success as all one needs is common footballing sense. Ashley and his cronies have clearly lacked this and here we are, slowly clawing back to normalcy despite the fat one's ineptitude. I wish. If it was as easy as you make out how come the people who have done the best job of trying in over half a bloody century are despised by so many and thought of as shit, unless the "so many" who think this way are total know-nowts? You tell me, mate. Because they also robbed the club of tens of millions of pounds. Having said that I doubt you'd find a Newcastle fan who thought they were shit until Shepherd took over himsellf.
  2. I think if we do get promoted we'd be in a good position to rebuild the squad. Our wage bill will be so low in comparison to last season, about half what it was once Geremi and Butt are gone (they're out of contract at the end of this season). So we'll have a good amount of excess revenue to invest in players even without outside money from Ashley or a new owner.
  3. We've already had key injuries, in fact that's the only reason I've got any worries at all about playing Cardiff. IMO with a full team we'd murder them.
  4. My first impression of the league is that its of an even worse standard then I thought and I was one of the people trying to tell people how poor it was before the season started. Its not luck though really, its just the massive difference in quality between the Premiership and the Championship. Even though we had five first teamers out and a reserve striker up front we had enough quality to have a midfielder who could waltz past Leicesters defence and smash the ball into the net.

More likely they are being paid based on the amount of work being done rather than at a fixed rate so the longer it lasts................. The more their reputation for selling clubs is ruined. Also I can't believe Ashley will be paying them a significant amount of money per hour/week. Surely a large portion of their payment would be based on he final sale price.
  7. he shouldn't be insisting on the reserves . he should be doing his all to get a regular place or putting in a transfer request. if players want clubs to uphold their side of contracts then they have to do likewise. sooner or later players will be in for a shock when a club "does" a player over it. Look I'm not here to score points in a petty forum squabble, but you cannot assume that he wasn't doing just that. IF he wasn't then I'm sure he'd be sent packing by whoever was running the club/team at the time last January, let alone this transfer window. "I even stopped playing in the last few days to force my exit.” I suppose when he "stopped playing to force an exit" that was part of his plan to "do his all to get a first team place"?
  8. I can afford to go to home games, no way could I manage away games though so I'm very glad so many of them are on Sky.
  9. Effort is hardly the only thing that stops people from going to matches. Often some of my friends can't afford to go.
  10. I know plenty of what you'd call armchair fans who'd be better supporters then some of the whining idiots I see/hear at St James Park.
  11. I wonder how much money a club gets per live game? I know TV money is very small in the Championship in comparison to the Premier League (£270m vs £1.8b) but I just wonder how its distributed.
  12. Watching on TV is a big deal in comparison to radio coverage or highlights. At the end of the day everyone wants whats best for themselves.
  13. Is there some kind of limit to how many times a team can be on Sky?
  14. You'd be fuming if a home game you were going to got moved such that you couldn't make it anymore. Still, so long as it doesn't affect you... Yeah and you'd be happy if these matches weren't on Sky Sports despite people who are unable to go no longer being able to see it, still as long as it doesn't affect you...
  15. Love your Sig If anything , no players coming in can make the squad tighter . Or make the players decide they can do whatever they please because they can't be replaced.
  16. I just replace them all with decent scouts
  17. All these so called experts and pundits on SSN are going on about tapping up and how it happens all the time so Chelsea are being made an example of for doing something loads of clubs do. They're completely missing the point which is breach of contract, makes me want to throttle them
  18. He broke a legally binding contract, if he didn't want to risk these kind of punishments he shouldn't have done that.
  19. Its not the same situation. Past complaints such as N'Zogbia, Fabregas ect have been about clubs signing young players at the end of their youth contracts and the club wanting more compensation then those clubs were offering. What's happened here is an actual breach of contract.
  20. So they can't even bring in free players or loans.. ouchey
  21. This could damage them quite a lot actually. If they can't bring players in then they also can't sell any (as they'd need replacing obviously). By the time they can do business again nearly half their squad is going to be between 31 and 36 years old (most of them nearer the later) and have very little value left. I'm sure they'd have wanted to sell most of those players off and replace them over the next few windows while they were still valuable. There's also the possibility of the squad stagnating, what if quite a few players hit bad form, they can't be replaced so the manager really has his hands tied to a degree.

No problem, just go and buy another bottle of hope, or as I call it Jack Daniels.

    Marlon Harewood

I'd be more confident in Harewood then Xisco in this league and and Harewood will cost us far less in wages so its a pretty good swap IMO.
