  1. Course he has, I for one still think he can be a star for the Toon and he has one year to prove me wrong! so you want him to prove you wrong by not shining? i dont think he'll get much chance to prove himself cos Roeder dosnt look likely to start him unless injuries pop up to other strikers. With Owen returning later in the year, Amebi playing well and the arrival of 1 maybe 2 new strikers the future of Albert at the Toon dosnt look bright unless Roeder gives him a chance but cant see it happening. I for one hope he does get a go but i dont have much say its up to the boss and as long as Newcastle are winning games i wont mind as much who is playing on the pitch but if were losing ill be one calling for Alberts inclusion. Well Roeder has no excuse not to give him a chance now. He's playing well in games and as was seen in the open training session he's doing very well in training, and putting in good effort.
  2. Because he's Northern Monkeys other half mate.
  3. He wasnt to be fair. He was gash and danced around a Mickey Mouse defender and slotted it past a Minnie Mouse keeper. I doubt Luque would be able to skip around Andy OBrien like that. Oh sorry, I forgot how shit Lillistrome's defence was, that's why the likes of Emre, Milner, Shola, N'Zogbia and Solano all scored as well right?... Woosh of the century! I really hope it was, I don't want to see another looney Luque hater on the forum
  4. They all looked shit in all fairness. Lets try to keep the thread serious please

  6. He was our most dangerous player against Lillistrom and scored a excellent goal all of his own making. When he came on against PSV he scored the penalty, had a shot cleared off the line (again he made it himself with a great turn) and put Milner through on goal in the last minute with another excellent peice of skill. Overall he's played very well in pre season.
  7. I do hope nobody actually believes that Roeder really thinks that. Which one of those comments is so unbelievable? The one were Roeder says Luque did well against PSV?, which he did. The one were he says he was encouraged by the performance?.. which is only normal when a player plays well. What is so hard to believe here? Its not as if Roeder just announced to the world that Luque is the best player on the planet and indispensible to Newcastle United or something..
  8. Woosh of the century!
  9. I don't think people are saying that, they just want the lad to have a clean slate so he can have another crack at the whip. On the contrary...... http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php/topic,25350.msg474979.html#msg474979 .....and he wasn't the only one. I've changed my mind and I now agree with you 100%, what a player does the previous season is all that matters, current form is utterly irrelivant in deciding wether someone should play for Newcastle......... Seriously, the most important thing when deciding what players to play is form, how the player is playing NOW, not the previous season. If Shola Ameobi started scoring hattricks then the last several seasons of mediocrity would not make a blind bit of difference, he'd play every week in my team. As it is last season we saw Luque start 8 times and make a few short and late sub apearances. Which makes it even more obsured to think that you believe what he did in those games is more important then what he does this season. You've deleveloped an irrational hatred for a player and you're letting it blind you, which is quite typical of a large section of our fanbase. Wouldn't surprise me if you were one of the idiots at St James who were complaining about Luque's goal against Lillistrome.
  10. We didn't get Owen on loan with £10 million to pay the following season though did we, we got Owen for a straight £16 million fee.
  11. If philips helps us go far in the Uefa cup and qualify for Europe again next season then it would be more then worth £10 million from next seasons budget..
  12. Wow, you've seen a striker play part of a game on the left wing and one whole game up front in a World Cup knockout game (his first of the competition). Well that makes you an expert in my opinion, feel free to not only call him shite but to be incredibly childish about it as well, great post!!
  13. Spot on, unfortunately Newcastle United have some of the most ignorant fans on the planet in there ranks. If a new signing doesn't become an instant success there will be calls to sell, sometimes even after only there first game.. its embarrasing to be honest.
  14. What a suprise that the same people are coming up with the same shit about desire when they have absolutely no idea what desire Luque shows behind the scene's. Apparently Roeder is a lier in your opinion when he says that Luque puts in extra work in training when the rest of the team are having days off. Oh and as to the thread, Luque played well, yes it was a testemonial, but I didn't see anyone else score a goal for Newcastle (other then the two fakish ones). He played some nice one two's and sprayed a few great crossfield passes and probably could have done better had we not had lots of old players around him.
