More diving from Ronaldo and Andy Gray reckons it was a definite a penalty

Nobody said Tevez didnt mean it, they're on about Carricks shot falling right to Tevez.
-
Lucky goal for Manure. Excellent finish though from the ugly one.
-
Neither could I, its all about us as far as I'm concerned.

cp40 said he thought it was highly unlikley As for you, I suppose you saw Kinnear having a heart attack and us consequently only getting two points from the following five games under Hughton as well?, fucking psychic aren't you
-
What a chance for Wigan!
-
Rodallega with only his second goal I think.
-
Absolutely awsome miss by Rooney!

You just said they care in your earlier post. Obviously they do or they wouldn't bother.

We had a very big rivalry for two seasons in a row and have been in their challenging them on a few other occasions if not quite so strongly as those first two years. Do they sing Shearer songs purely because of that?, erm no I didn't say they did. I said they seem to still care about us because of our rivalry in that time which included challenging them for the title, beating them 5:0 and getting Shearer ahead of them. We've been much more of a rival to Manure then Blackburn.. Of course I'd gladley trade places as far as being less of a rival to the likes of Manure overall and actually winning it like them
-
Fuck all to do with it? If we'd never been a rival they wouldn't care now either. Getting Shearer was just part of that rivalry, a pretty big part yes.
-
It's amazing how they still harbour this grudge against us and shearer, we are a non entity to them now, we are in no shape or form any sort of a challenge, we are not a local rival to them but their fans still seem to act as if we are. When they were playing boro recently, they sung for long periods of the game, that song, that they copied from us who twisted it from the mackems original version. They've also got other fans singing it now. Unbeliveable, why do they care ?? Old rivalrys die hard I suppose, we were massive rivals for a time after all. Oh and what mrmojorisin75 said as well, a lot of Manure "fans" really don't understand loyalty.

I have to admit I worried he'd be a bit of a liability at left back, like N'Zogbia was when he was put there, but he's looked very solid. He hasn't had the most testing opposition yet mind so lets not get too carried away.

I'd like to see this whole game or even decent length highlights, don't suppose I ever will now though with the next Match of the Day being on Saturday (?)

Michael Owen - Would you be disappointed if he stayed?
Teasy replied to Liam Liam Liam O's topic in Football
£43,000 basic, £20,000 apearance (full starts only) and £25,000 goal bonus. If he has a really good season, plays every game and scores 20 goals, he ends up with £70,000 per week which is a very attractive wage. But if he has an average season, plays half the season and only scores 10, he comes out with £56,000 which is a much more average kind of wage these days in the Premiership. Also if we get into Europe there's more games to play which means he can gain even more on his appearance and goal bonuses which can push his wage even higher. That will not only give him more motivation to play well and help us get into Europe but it will also insure that if we're paying him more we're also bringing in more money to cover those extra wages. We should do it with every player IMO EDIT: got the maths wrong originally so I changed the offer -

I definitely wouldn't build a team around him and I'd only keep him if he took a wage half what it is now. I just disagree with people who are saying he's finished physically and that's why he's not scoring goals. He's been in his current physical state for years but he's always scored goals until now. -

Owen's no slower or less mobile then he was at the end of last season or the start of this one when he scored plenty of goals. -
Problem is then we'd still be on the same points as Hull and only one point above Sunderland and so one point from relegation. I definitely wouldn't want to take that risk just to put Sunderland in the bottom three.

When we went 2:1 up someone near me started signing "Eei Eei Eei oh up the premier league we go" but gave up pretty quickly

How does the money we've spent on him in the past effect what he's worth now? Replacing him is going to cost two or three times more then giving him a £60,000 three year deal. Like I said I think in a less hopeless side he'll still score plenty of goals. The offer was £80,000 wasn't it? Still more then I'm suggesting, but then as I said if he won't accept a reasonable offer then yeah he can fuck off. -

No way has he lost his ability to score regularly long term, that kind of knack doesn't just disappear. He's having a bad spell and looking pretty ineffective at the moment but he can and will start scoring regularly again, especially in a half decent team. Lots of teams will offer him far more then £40,000 so that's just totally unrealistic. I'd be happy for him to stay on a two or three year £60,000 contract. We'd save £60,000 without having to replace him. -
I'd be happy with him staying for another year if he'll accept £30,000 a week with a decent appearance and goal bonus. No way in hell is he worth his current astrononical wages though.
