He couldn't track back? Strange I remember him making a pretty important challenge late on on the edge of our area when Portsmouth had us under pressure. Is Jonas the new scapegoat or something? Because I can think of much more deserving targets.

Which was the last team that stayed up with 34 points? This is a misconception, you can't look at other team's fixtures and hope they lose. They could be facing a team of juniors if the opposition has nothing to play for. What sort of team will FA cup finalists Everton put out against the mackems on Saturday for example? If we don't take the points we need we won't stay up. Clearly I wasn't refering to Sunderland though mate, they're on 35 West Brom in 2004/2005, but due to their goal difference 33 would actually have kept them up. Also if you look at seasons where 34 and better goal difference would have kept a team up (as in the 3rd bottom went down on 33/34) its been possible in three of the last 4 seasons.

The one and only player on the pitch who wanted the ball, and he's getting called worse then shit, bunch of cockends.. Think some of you expect him to beat four players everytime he gets the ball or he must not be trying Anyway, how convinient that a court in Mallorca has ruled in favour of Mallorca, surely we should apeal, I mean we've played to the rules here, why should we pay compensation?

0:0 90th minute, we get a penalty, Shola steps up to take it.. Or 0:0 90th minute, we get a penalty, Martins steps up to take it..

If you look at it in such a basic way then it would seem that way I agree. But look closer at the fixtures and take everything else into account and its possible, though still very unlikely. I don't think we'll neccesarily need three wins to stay up by the way.

Well, in the fat one's defence, he banked 37m from the sale and I don't think he can expect to pick up the club for that! He's always felt like he was shafted over the sale, why wouldn't we expect him to sound like a jilted lover? He used money he funneled out of the club to buy club shares which he then sold for £37m, I don't expect him to be anything but grateful that he was allowed to get away with it. If he wanted more ill gotten gains then he shouldn't have put the club in such a disasterous financial position in order to make himself look like a big man on Sky Sports News.

The News of the World never fail to make me laugh. You'd think if they were going to make up a story they'd at least try to make it believable, but it seems they always try for the opposite approach Either that or they just have the logic of a five year old.

Fair f*cking play to you getting the exact amount of points correct from that far back. EDIT: We lost at Bolton, but still. One point out is pretty impressive. We didn't win against the Mackems, and we haven't won against any of the other three yet. He's still only one point out so far though.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Boro fans fanzone.

Walcotts wasting loads of chances.

Just FYI Newcastle finished in the top four twice in a row (2001/2002 and 2002/2003).
-
"37 percent of all West Ham, Blackburn, and Newcastle season ticket holders may not renew" Well that's definitive then
-
Would be more accurate if the third picture was of Chelsea, Stoke and the Spuds league records/recent form..

Good chairmen do more then back their managers though, I mean backing a manager is not the one and only definition of a good chairmen. Obviously Ashley has been anything but a good owner, but I certainly wouldn't call fat Fred a good chairman either. Most successful clubs aren't in debt in the same way we were. That's to say most successful clubs aren't consistently making losses totalling over 35-40% of their total revenue every year with those losses rising every year. Also we aren't a successful club, so what's the point in comparing us to one financially?

Not sure about that, the likes of Hull, Blackburn and Sunderland can still catch/surpass them with one win. While they can still get dragged into it I think they'll still be out to get as many points as possible.
-
Not at all, the fact is those games are by far the easiest run of home games we've had all season. That's not to say they will be easy, just that if we ever had a chance of getting a few wins on the bounce this is our best so far this season. Look back at the fixture list, we haven't had three easier home games in quick succession all season. Meanwhile Hull play Liverpool, Manure and Stoke at home. Its about the comparative difficulty of each teams home fixtures, not some insane belief that we'll turn everything around and they won't. What happens if you change that to 1 win, 1 loss, 1 draw? Then we'd still stay up on goal difference on the last day of the season at Villa and I'd likely need specialist treatment afterwards.
-
Their three home games are Manure, Liverpool and Stoke. Our home games are Pompey, Fulham and Boro.. Don't bother comparing away games, neither side has a chance of getting much if anything from them, its the home games remaining that really matter.
-
I think its been pretty consistently bad all season.
-
I'm managing not to commit suicide purely based on where those three teams fall in the away league table. All three of them are in the bottom half in away points (two of them in the bottom six). Out of our nine opponents in the bottom 10 we've beaten three, drawn with two and lost against one (obviously with the other three still to play against Boro, Portsmouth ect). It might be seen as clutching as straws but it does really bring home the fact that these are by far the most winnable collection of games we've had all season.
-
We've had bad luck all season, even while the leprechaun was here.
-
Some on here are writing us off, why shouldn't some of us write off other teams who have a tougher run in? Cant write anyone off at this point, just think some are deciding things will be a definate way if we achieve certain things. There is still a realistic run of results that could relegate us even if we get 9 points. Not talking about giant killings here, bottom half teams playing eachother. Its not even that unlikely.. we're in a tough spot, theres not other way of looking at it. We need some luck There's also still a realistic run of results that could keep us up even if we only get 4 points.
-
yep, its this inability to win, convinces me we cannot win 3 in 5 were, down, im on a 9, cos its only a ten, when its mathematically down. Some of those stats are pretty sad reading, I've officially hit the panic button and put us up to a 10, just can't see us winning the 3 home games You might not want to believe every stat you read, certainly not at face value anyway.
-
Its 3 in 17 in the league and we kept a clean sheet 8 games ago (and if you are including cup games its 2 in 16).. Still shit like obviously True we've failed to hold onto leads against some poor teams (though its deceptive to mention Hull considering they were class when they beat us in the league), but looking back through the fixtures to our win against West Brom at home 24 games ago, I can't see three more winnable games then the three we've got coming up.
-
Removing the majority of them would more then make up for the loss in revenue, IMO if a couple of the better players wanted to stay we should keep them.
-
We really have to hope that Hull don't win another game this season. They have Liverpool and Villa next, if they come out of that with no points and we win our home game against Pompey we'll be one point behind them with a much easier run in then there's. I'm so sick of ifs and buts though!..
