You'd think so. But we'll need to win the Boro and Fulham games to have any real chance of finishing above Sunderland, not going to happen sadly Where are you expecting Sunderland to get points from? i'm expecting Sunderland to stay on 35 points meaning we need at least 5 to finish above them, given their superior goal difference. Not going to happen imo So you're saying we need two wins because we're definitely going to lose 3:0 at Villa? That's a bit odd. Personally I'd say that if we went into the villa game on the same points as Sunderland with a better goal difference and with them playing Chelsea then we'd have a real chance. I think everyone here would jump at that scenario right now.
  2. Can't say I agree with that article like. Not just the idea of going down not being a disaster but some of the player he suggests to let go/keep and some of his info is way off (wages, and thinking Gonzales will still be here for instance).

I think if we stay up we'll be able to offload Smith, Barton and Geremi (Geremi only has one year left and hasn't figured so I think he'll want to try to look for a two year deal somewhere else) and of course Owen, Viduka, Cacapa and Gonzales are out of contract so we can just release them. That would almost totally purge our squad of the highly paid wasters that are drowning this club (something like a £22 million wage drop). Then we'll only have Duff, Butt and Ameobi to remove IMO.

  5. Only 1 of them was clear imo. You could argue that the 50-50 between Alves and Malouda as well. If you're going to call that a foul, at least call it where it occured. Pique's handball was a clear pen imo. Drogba threw himself on the floor, the Molouda incident was outside the box, and the Eto'o handball was clearly not a pen. The Barca player grabbed a hand full of Drogba's shirt and held on to it to pull him back so the keeper could get to the ball first. Unless you disagree that happened I've no idea how you can argue that it wasn't a pen. Doesn't matter one jot if he threw himself down, the foul was there and it was obvious.
  6. How can holding on to a players shirt to drag them away from the ball in the penalty area not be a pen?
  7. Only 1 of them was clear imo. Pique's hand ball was a clear pen, the pull on Drogba's shirt was a clear pen, no idea about the others as I haven't seen them.
  8. Pique's hand never went towards the ball, but as I said, he shouldn't have had his hand sticking out and would have not been surprised if it was given. It doesn't move away from the ball either.
  9. Is Pique Steven Taylor's thinner Spanish brother? EDIT
  10. Pique made no attempt to move his hand, completely obvious penalty that like.
  11. Drogba right in front of the camera "ITS A FUCKING DISGRACE!"

Owen and Viduka will go either way, Bassong would also leave if we went down IMO. If we do go down we should be making sure we get a large fee for someone like Bassong though, he'll be on a small contract so its not like we need to get rid of him.

I said according to that site we should have five more which shows that we've been unlucky and Stoke have been lucky this season. I don't literally think we deserve exactly five points more or anything.

Well obviously they can't see the past and future and know how every game would change based on decisions during the game, that doesn't make it shite for fuck sake It just means you shouldn't take it 100% literally. I mean if we were 1:0 down against Villa needing a draw to stay up and we got a goal disallowed incorrectly I doubt anyone here would be saying "ah but if it was allowed Villa may have scored again".. All it does is give you a good indicating of what kind of crucial decisions sides have had go for and against them during the season. I think we'll all agree we've had some bad decisions go against us, however its interesting to see what other clubs have had the rub of the green or otherwise and that site seems like the best source available for that info.

yeah, its lucky for stoke thier players care,...its unlucky for us ours dont give as shit,.... Luck plays a part. Well that as well like But I was talking about the decisions that have gone for them and against us. Stoke have five points more then they should have this season and we have five less then we should according to rightresult.net. I'm not going to complain that its unfair if we go down, because we should be good enough to stay up despite luck, but I'm not going to pretend that luck hasn't played a part either.
  18. I don't think that's allowed.

Like Ian says there's very little difference between the bottom six sides, other then luck that is, something that's dragged the likes of Stoke and Sunderland out of the bottom three and put us right in there.

According to Right Result the three worst teams have been Stoke, Sunderland and West Brom.
  21. He was physically fit but mentally unfit, he rarely put the effort in to run at the opposition and didn't produce good crosses or shots. He didn't shine above any of the rest of the wasters in our side (unlike Enrique, Given, Bassong or Jonas have at times this season) so I just can't see how he can be referred to as one of our two best players..
  22. Based on what? His 1 goal or his 1 assist?
  23. As I said rose tinted glasses, Bramble cost us so many more goals then Coloccini its not even comparable. Fluffing clearances, passing the ball straight to the striker, falling over at exactly the wrong time, Bramble made an art form out of fucking up. Coloccini's had a bad season but he's got a long way to go before he comes close to matching Brambles calamities at this club. Can't believe Bobby called N'Zogbia one of our best players as well?
  24. Stoke maybe but Bolton? They have 10 points from their last 5 home games, which is pretty good. Why should Hull be able to quite easily beat them?
