And their home game is against Chelsea. You never know. Seriously though, Sunderland are shocking. Everton are at half pace and are playing them off the park. hmm, i would love it if we won those 2 home games as we could be ahead of them and hull, all is not lost, but we're living on a knife edge at the moment the good thing is southgate has said they have to win at our place, hopefully this means we can exploit there weaknesses Lets just hope it doesn't mean they'll exploit ours.

They really don't like. They haven't created a chance so far and its not like Everton are sitting back and battling for a point likes Portsmouth were.

Good old Jo...i've always rated him... :omg: Yep, worth every penny of the £455 million Man City paid for him!

Pienarr 1:0

If we did catch them (which means a win and two draws for us and three losses for then) then our goal difference would inevitably be better then theirs. So I wouldn't worry about it, its actually getting the points needed to catch up that we should worry about.
-
What a fucking plank! Can't believe Man City paid £455 million for that fucker..

Refs are so fucking big headed they won't even change their decisions when the player they've given a penalty too says it wasn't one, unreal

hughton did the same v arsenal at home Being dropped for Lovenkrands is humiliating? What does Lovenkrands have to say about that I wonder? By the way does anyone know when Gerrard got back to full training? He hasn't played a game since his injury has he? If Torres is out that's a big boost, he's scored 5 in his last 5 afterall. We'll still probably lose but maybe now we won't lose by as many goals

They aren't like. We definitely still have a chance, the Liverpool game is another important one, we need to make sure we don't concede a lot of goals.
-
You didn't get it, honestly?

He didn't swear as far as I heard and even if he had so what?, not like he called them fucking cunts is it? Surely people complaining can find something better to do?

Boro's form has picked up a little lately. They've won one game drawn another and played much better in recent losses. That might not sound much but when compared to us they sound like world beaters. The game is by no means a easy 3 points for us. Boro's home form has picked up, but not away, their last away win was 14 games ago and they have only two wins and two draws away all season (13 losses). Two draws and 11 losses from their last 13 away games.

agreed about the Hull-Stoke game, stoke are safe and will take their foot off the pedal, hull are huge favourites for that game imo. i think Hull will get 3 or 4 points more than they have now so we need 6 or 7 and atm thta looks like it is asking too much. What about Sunderland like? They have a home game against a team in the cup final who to a man will be terrified of getting injured having seen what happened to Jagielka, 2 away games against teams who will be safe, and a home game against a side who may have 2 finals to come. They'll get the points if they need them. West Brom beat them 3:0. What frame of mind each team will be in when they play them is conjecture, but what is fact is that Sunderland are f***ing terrible. As bad or worse then us and their remaining fixtures make grim reading. I definitely think they're in at least as bad a position as Hull, if not worse. Although I agree that Sunderland are as bad if not worse than us, the cold hard fact is they are 4 pts ahead of us, the way we are playing 4 pts is a hell of a long way away and circumstances have comspired to give them an excellent chance to extend that lead. I'm not disputing the fact that they're in a better position then us at the moment. I'm just saying that Sunderland have to be included when we look at teams we can catch.
-
I feel all of the other teams can and will put more effort in than our lot. This might be misguided because obviously I see lots more of us than them, but still. Yep I bet Sunderland fans will be thinking just the same of their side after the West Brom game.

I concur totally. Then why didn't he against Blackburn, West Ham, Hull, Liverpool ect? This is a case of looking back with rose tinted glasses, he did fuck all for us for a long time before he eventually got the massive move he wanted to Wigan.. Why should we expect he'd do anything more then the other wasters we had on the pitch tonight?
-
Milner has shown for Villa what a good player he is,as for Zog...he has potential, the fact is though that neither have been replaced, and an already thin squad has gone to anorexic proportions. No he's shown that in a very good team with excellent movement and a massive beanpole to hit his awful crosses at he can be decent, he was shit for us though because he's simply not good that good.

Which was the last team that stayed up with 34 points? This is a misconception, you can't look at other team's fixtures and hope they lose. They could be facing a team of juniors if the opposition has nothing to play for. What sort of team will FA cup finalists Everton put out against the mackems on Saturday for example? If we don't take the points we need we won't stay up. Clearly I wasn't refering to Sunderland though mate, they're on 35 West Brom in 2004/2005, but due to their goal difference 33 would actually have kept them up. Also if you look at seasons where 34 and better goal difference would have kept a team up (as in the 3rd bottom went down on 33/34) its been possible in three of the last 4 seasons. Well let's hope everything goes perfectly then. At the moment our best chances seems to be relying on other results which I don't have a lot of faith in tbh. Its almost guarenteed this will be one of the seasons were 34 isn't enough, I'm beginning to believe we're destined to go down no matter what. Still I'll be at the Boro game to suffer another 90 minutes, I haven't completely given up hope yet.

Agree with everything appart from alluding to Milner as a good player, and suggesting that we miss Zog.
-
We were shit today, but never looked like scoring? Some of our lot need to be shot for missing the chances they had today. apart from the owen chance, did david james have anything much do nope, portsmouth looked more like scoring the 2nd half Because we missed sitters, Martins volley over the bar from point blank range in the first half was particularly glaring. Viduka also had a great chance and hit it straight at James.
-
What effort was that like?

and when he didn't have the ball he strolled about and looked injured (i wonder) He was one of the only players trying to move into positions to get the ball, bought us some freekicks by going on good runs with absolutely no support around him what so ever. Not sure what he really could do in that disgrace of a team. But like I said obviously he's the new scapegoat so I'll just leave you lot alone to get on with it.
