    Today's other games

Was watching SSN earlier, had some 'Man U fans' on talking about the match and saw this chap... http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/7633/dsc0000322rn4.jpg Edit: Re-halved for those with piddling monitors.

  4. Oh yes. Would've seemed incredible to me back then that he'd be where he is now - i.e. nowhere. "Same old Eyeties, always cheating..."

  6. well if you lived anywhere near newcastle you'd know. for years the club had a tradirtion of making the weeks worst trainer wear the yellow top as you can see.(im sure it's spelt wrong, should be 2 "t"s That would make it make it 'shitter' as in sh-it-er. But it's meant to be shiter as in sh-aye-ter Well he never has been the same since Harewood.
  7. I have seen it said by one or two on here - "the signs were there". Can't remember who.
  8. I agree with much of what has been said on both sides. To keep my own input brief, I think he should have been backed or sacked at the end of 03/04 - in the end, neither happened. Things were as handled as badly as I can conceive of from then on.
  9. Well now you say it like that, it sounds silly.
  10. He'll come out with a hypocritical view of how we should have give him more time, especially considering he appointed him in the first place. My money's on something about it showing how tough a task running NUFC is.
  11. Betting suspensions normally just means a lot of money is going on someone. Whether it's good money or not doesn't matter much.
  12. Only if it's likely we appoint a bad manager.
  13. Wasn't paying attention and missed Ferdinand..! Aside from that, I was torn between Bellamy and Nobby. Made the same decision as you, we may never have had the Bellamy situation had the strange treatment and eventual departure of Solano not taken place.
  14. Interesting idea - there's been talk of increasing the reward for winning the Cup from a UEFA Cup spot to a place in the CL. How's about guaranteeing a team's place in the league (if needed, it's traded for the CL spot)? That could lead to some exciting days.
  15. Certainly wasn't fantastic, in my view. Not bad - he gave us a few new options and some energy - but he made more than one bad decision in his time on the pitch, wasting initiative and possession.
  16. Regardless of the eventual score of this match, I hope today's events can be taken as a positive and built upon. This had better not be us expending the last of our passion in vain. How is the atmosphere now?
  17. Don't really see your logic there. Does that mean world war two should never be mentioned or given reference to in anything other than WWII films? What about 9/11? It seems a bit of a strange line for the scriptwriters to come up with on a London-based soap, but we should remember that they make references to real tragic events all the time in fictional programmes and films. Do you think a storyline in Eastenders slagging off the victims of auschwitz would be acceptable in order to get ratings? Irrelevant, Eastenders hasn't been slagging off those killed at Hillsbrough, or anybody there that day. I don't understand the furore, here. Its quite clear if the above is read, "they've" slagged off those who caused Heysel and said look what came of it - to stop such things happening, measures were taken that resulted in the deaths of nearly a hundred innocents.
  18. So anyway, I reckon Ambrose is a useless prat, now.
  19. Compared to the Yanks, Roman is a football purist. Nevermind Abramovich.
  20. I haven't got a major problem with what he says beyond not knowing what their being American has to do with it. What about the Ruskies? Greedy bastards are an international phenomenon.
  21. If such a league were made 60 strong, rather than the usual suggestion of 18 or so, us and Spurs would definitely be in it. It would be the Derbys and Portsmouths that get left behind. You wonder whether the owners of clubs would have the sense to see glory is relative. As you say, "3rd Division Play-Off contenders" SV Hamburg doesn't sound quite so interesting. Owners, particularly of the new breed, might not care if the financial structure of the league sees all participants just get smaller shares of what would be a much larger cake, however. In addition, a new league might choose to go down the Socialist American route where failure is rewarded with better players for the next season.
  22. I don't think removing the Italian police from games will increase the order at matches.
  23. Shepherd never got his gut out for us...
