  1. Logged in just to see who voted 5 and 6 and it's a private vote FFS...
  2. Well, ideally you'd have more than one, but ok, maybe he's worse at taking instruction in a high pressure environment? Same thing applies. I agree with Dropout, it's not saying this is definitely the case, just that it's something worth examining. It's not as though Schar was dropped for being relentlessly shit, and I think most would agree it's the natural time to be looking at developing the future rather than wringing every last bit of juice out of our veterans. But in the short term we're at risk of losing certain things.
  3. It can't be completely discounted e.g. Thiaw might be lacking certain things we don't easily see i.e. vocal organisation, particularly when pressure is on at the end of a game.

    Yoane Wissa

Hoped there'd be some sort of explanation like that.

Probably. Makes the lack of action tonight crazier though.

    Malick Thiaw

Said in the Woltemade thread, both him and Thiaw seemed to have shrunk in the first half tonight. Came on better in the second though.

    Starts on Sunday?

    Nick Woltemade

Feels like this game has swallowed both our Germans so far.
  9. There's a balance to be struck, but yes there's truth in this. A lot of our supporters are arseholes.
  10. He has - Howe said something about it earlier in the season, I think before we signed a striker. I don't think Gordon will be taken off them until he misses a couple.

    Full translation?
  12. You think he'll be ahead by the derby then?
  13. I too would like to rub in Ramsdale's performance tonight to all those who thought no one could be worse than Pope.
  14. Sarcasm unfortunately We've had at least a dozen of these approaches on here in recent years. A study on how PhD candidates market themselves and drive engagement with recalcitrant football supporters on the internet might be interesting though.

    Joe Willock

Aye, I think we have to consider the possibility he's playing for a move. I wish him well either way, always got the impression his bad play post injury was predominantly psychological. Maybe he's cracked something.
  16. This certainly sounds like an original contribution to academia. Glad someone is finally looking into the issue.

    Eddie Howe

Can't guarantee what they want, that's true. But I see Hall as being less replaceable than a Tonali.

Nope. Hall in particular is non negotiable, we should be building the team around him. Unlike in the past, we have plenty of other players we can move on if liquidity is required now, too.

    Dan Burn

He's pretty much already said as much. An additional issue for him is he's spent the last year bulking up to physically focus on playing centre back, but is now needing to play in one of the most agile positions on the pitch.
  20. The mistimed tackle doesn't seem to have any different effect upon Foden than it would if it had been well timed though. Might be different if he'd obviously chickened out because an uncontrolled double footer was coming in. No penalty for me, as it has been traditionally. Otherwise we'd be having several per game - or it would become even more non contact.

    NUFC kits & merchandise

Dunno if it's been asked lately but where's the place for dodgy kits nowadays?

    Eddie Howe

Bump. -3 points, not that far off par for last season's 5th placed finish, with an opportunity to make it -1 against Everton next week.
