our season was utter pish from start to finish so how exactly did it "turn around"? i'd like to see more views on dyers effect on the season however; my recollection was he had an impact when he returned from injury for about 5 games then disappeared as per usual martins was the one who "turned our season around" in my opinion but he's s**** apparently and not worth more than one season... FACT remains that Dyer scored 7 goals...thats plenty more than the rest of our midfield....therefore, the quote that he can't shoot is bollox....Shearer, who knows a thing or two about shooting, has also quoted a few times that Dyer is a different player in training, a real attacking threat, with a great shot... He gets himself in plenty of shooting positions; but in matches seems to try a pass, rather than a shot....mind you, with the venom thrown at Lampard by some on this site, I can understand.... He's been a disappointment because we've all seen flashes of what Dyer COULD be.... Doesn't alter the fact that he HAS BEEN a childish, playboy, lazy, uninterested, disruptive, disloyal, mouthy, injury prone, waster of his god given talent... but I actually think its a HAS BEEN situation...I want the best for the Toon....a Dyer who has grown up, had his body sorted out, and played in a similar position, week in- week out, could prove a 10-15 goal, potential double figure assist player...there aren't many of those in the PL, and it would be best for us to see what Sam can coax from him before we get on his back. And his bad history outweighs his good. As always, toon fans latch onto the smallest chink of hope and blow it out of all context.

Babayaro. Behind him Carr, Dyer, Ramage, Ameobi and Luque.
-
On a not-at-all-linked topic, where do Newcastle Blue Star play??
-
Better than Ameobi, but that is not saying much, i suppose.
-
Carr is fucking far worse. He's absolute shite.
-
Duff is even more of a waste of money than Luque tbh... No he's not, put aside how bad his debut season was, at least its a season of some description. Duff still holds value, at least he's playable and not a liability. If Duff wasn't injured and we put him up for sale tomorrow, i'd say we'd even make money off him. Actually Luque got more goals/assists than Duff in less games.. They've both been shit. There is no avoiding the fact that he is a gutless, poor footballer for us.
-
Neither has Bellamy, unless you are stupid enough to pay attention to what Shearer says.
-
His ball control suggests that, half the time.
-
Fuck Luque, and all of his pathetic, pathetic performances. Which cannot be all blamed on everyone else, before the "oooh, it was all the managers/teammates/fans fault" starts.
-
How can it be a sideways step if we have pretty much nothing now?
-
Why the fuck anyone gives a toss what Shearer says is beyond me. Some people, including parts of the media as well as NUFC fans, seem to run around in circles screaming like schoolgirls in their bedrooms when the newest Bros single is played on the radio, or something. Shearer was a very good striker in his day, and a man who retired a season or two too late. Beyond that, i can't see why anyone would find his opinions worth much. He was full of shit about Parker, and that seems to have continued to the Bellamy thing too.

You serious?? Deadly. I rate King highley, apart form the fact he gets crocked alot. Take it from me, Newcastle fans know good defenders when they see them. They dont come along often you know. BTW your "You serious?" attempt to be little other forum members might work on a yid forum but it won't work on here. If i go through all your absurd posts and put "you serious" after them you would look like a toss pot too, so cut it. Which you would be an expert in?
-
Huddlestone is not as good at what he does as Taylor is. Imho.
-
Oh, he did that ALONE now?? You're getting fucking desperate now. Whet next, "name the 5 players you've personally scouted who are better" You're a genius.
-
Then we should have spent some money and got one.
-
I'll leave you to make more stuff up to turn an (at best, probably below) average striker into the new Alan Shearer. I have to be up in the morning to go to the cricket. When he scores 9 league goals, some fans will no doubt pretrend thats godo enough, and claim he's great. Me, i'd rather we'd have bought a decent, hungry, improving striker. But hey, i'm just a crazy optimist.

some of us have longer memories and do not see the previous player as the standard to be bettered, especially as there is a different manager and owner Fair enough, but would you agree that Viduka is a vast improvement on Sibierski? the phrase 'vast improvement' does a diservice to Sibierski and completely ignores massive flaws in Viduka you can't even say they are a direct replacement, Sibierski wasn't even a striker What massive flaws? Dod you ever see him before last season?? Yes. You clearly didn't. His goal record will hold up to anyone's and his natural ability on the ball is fantastic. 1 in 4 (near as dammit), like i said. Why have you missed out the season he got 20 in 33? or 17 in 34? Or last season? Last season wasn't in doubt he did well. I only went back 3, i was in a rush. The facts are what they are - he is not a consistent top striker.

Here we go again: I've seen [X player/Y league] a hundred gazillion times, so i know i'm right. I never said that though, so don't misquote me. It was a general comment, put your handbag down, pet. Suggest you don't quote me when saying it then. Suggest all you like. Your post was typical of that kind of shite, so i used it to quote. Tough. Fucking clueless. Abuse disguised as a comment. Not a surprise, but welcome nonetheless. You haven't let me down, thank you. Viduka has never ever scored 1 in 4 in a season in English football. That shows EXACTLY how much you know about him. 05/06 - 7 in 27 league games. Oh, and 3 assists. 04/05 - 5 in 16. 1 assist. 03/04 - 11 in 30. 3 assists. Thats (roughly) - 1 in 4, 1 on 3, 1 in 3. And a shite assist record. Sugggest you add on the 6 in 9 he got in the UEFA Cup, because after Christmas Boro were putting out reserve sides in the league so they could get there, and he was easily the most important player in doing so. The only comparitor is league goals. Of course, unsurprisingly, you are trying to re-write history now. Fact is, in the league games he played, thats how many he scored.
-
Your facts are as worthwhile as your opinions, which is heartening to know. Why thank you, you're all heart. Hey, i'm here to support you and your ilk. Its a public service, i like to give a little back.

I'm not sure what you're basing the fact that Milner will be consistently better than SWP on, if you look back to the last time SWP had a consistent run in the team (which he'd have if he played for us) he was one of the best wingers in the league, people also seem to have a selective memory where Milner is concerned because up until he scored past Man Utd this season he was putting in some very average performances. Well even if you're right, even if SWP would become consistent... why bother blowing another £8/9/10m when we've already got someone in Milner; who, in a couple of years time, could even be a better player? Honestly just don't see the need to go splashing out on SWP. And btw, Milner was just alright up until Christmas. After the turn of the year, he was just about always our best player on the pitch. Because we improve the team now, I'm not suggesting we do a Roeder and blow all our money on a winger but if Ashley is putting significant funds into the club for transfers then SWP would be a big upgrade on Milner. Milner will never be up to the level that SWP could be for us IMO, his restrictions are there for all to see. As are SWP's. What are you basing his greatness on, because for the majority if games i saw him play in his time at Chelsea, he was poor. When SWP has had a consistent run in the team his ability is far better than anything Milner can produce, Milner is slow, poor control/passing and crossing ability, his lack of pace is what holds him back the most and it's something he'll never improve on. Swp can beat a man with ease and make something happen because his pace frightens players, he's also a much better finisher than Milner. Why don't you tell me whats so great about Milner compared to SWP then, NM. Well, SWP hasn't shown much of being able ot go past a man for me, and his crossing is as bad as Dyer's. He can run fast, but as we've seen with Dyer, thats enough to make some people think he's a good player. His finishing is not exactly top class, either. Having said that, i've not seen him play as much as you, clearly. You must watch a lot of non-NUFC football, to know so much. I've seen enough of both SWP and Milner to make a judgement that SWP is the far better player. You didn't tell me whats so great about Milner btw. He is improving all the time, his crossing is better, he is starting to take the ball past his opponent, and he is already here. Oh, and he's not a diving cunt.
