He can play LCB, and probably will a fair bit.
-
Yeah, while him joining and Azpilicueta staying does augment them, there still seems to be a decent hole at CB in their squad, and they do appear to have unlimited funds.
-
Aye, but the Sevilla lad was right about not selling in January while they were still going for the title.

Bamba Dieng's agent is at work again: https://www.90min.com/posts/premier-league-interest-grows-in-marseille-star-bamba-dieng. The most recent media reports before today were all about how we wouldn't go back in for him because we were aiming higher this summer.

And Cowill on loan, for all intents and purposes

Is someone else doing the FM data these days?

Suspended for the first game. Seen talk of Alli playing as a false nine.
-
TWD went down in my estimation when he said that. Is there anyone Chelsea aren't signing or trying to sign btw? Hopefully gets the chain moving on Werner or Broja.
-
Romano broke it last night.
-
Aye, but I was talking about cash flow. If you're wanting to use FFP as your benchmark, it's even less. £2.5M for each of the four years of his contract.
-
I'm sure that £3M Burnley have had from us has properly fucked our plans.
-
Aye, it’s why it seems a loan or signing of a younger player who won’t expect to start every game is the play. I’d argue a winger is the most critical one, though I’m keen to see Miggy in the new high-pressing system.
-
Aye, but I’d equate it to Botman and Burn in January. Digne and Targett, as well. As long as whoever we get improves the first XI, it’ll keep us moving in the right direction, though at perhaps a bit of a slower pace. Wood’s performances aside, which I think have been adequately balanced out by other factors (Pope’s interview was enlightening), it’s clear that we’re fishing in pretty decent pools and doing our homework now. I’d think that would be especially true in a longer summer window when Ashworth is involved.
-
Howay then… who will we end up with by the time the window closes? I’ll go Harrison and Broja. Werner if Broja doesn’t happen.

Here: https://www.footballinsider247.com/leicester-city-sources-reveal-maddison-to-newcastle-united-update-today/ Very consistent reporting, their sources were canny in January though and Pete O’Rourke seems okay-ish individually.

Loads. If they were as effective at long ball as that article makes out, you wouldn’t be totally surprised to see Lascelles and Botman starting. Surely we just back our best XI to beat them regardless, though?
-
The Express ffs. Hardly unequivocal, either, “Leicester value Maddison at around £60m, and Newcastle may now move on to fresh targets.”

2 days. Good article on Forest’s approach here (free): https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Ftheathletic.com%2F3474098%2F2022%2F08%2F04%2Fnottingham-forest-premier-league-cooper%2F%3Fsource%3Duser_shared_article.

That top ten is pretty much how I’d have it. 4th and 8th being the most contested places, with three teams each that could easily finish there.

Nah: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11040889/Newcastle-ask-Rennes-winger-Kamaldeen-Sulemana-having-rejected-Leeds-35m-ask-Harrison.html.

He might be absolutely gasping to come, for all we know.
-
Can Man Utd buy Sesko then loan him to us if he doesn't kick a ball for them?
-
I did the maths once upon a time, but would extending the Gallowgate to L7 (if even still viable) add around another 7,000 seats if it just followed the exact way the Leazes is done?
