Can see him getting the call, being used as an impact sub at first and then forcing his way into a starting position as the tournament progresses with some typically eye-catching displays. Here's hoping, anyway.

Here man, this bloke is canny good like isn't he? Don't think a shift at work has ever gone this quick and I reckon the amount of talking people are doing about the goal is the reason. All the Mackems keep telling me he'll be off in the Summer though, which is a shame.

He was injured. I'd be surprised if Pardew alters the team at all after that performance.

As mentioned already, "12+" gets the win here for the mentally deranged amongst us after those two pearlers. This poll is the foremost reason for my belief in Champions League qualification. 13 goals in twelve games man, about 10 of them have been fucking class as well.

Two games to go for every club in the division, we sit fifth - level with fourth and just one point behind third. Sunday is going to be epic. Howay. For the record, we're in the same position as we were when this thread was started, but we've extended the gap to Chelsea by another two points and we've clawed back a point on Arsenal despite them having had a game in hand on us. (Voted "yes" again, obviously, and feel far less phony doing so this time around.) Rolling Poll Results Tuesday 10th April @ 6pm - Sunday 15th April @ 9pm: Yes = 89 (24.7%) No = 271 (75.3%) from 360 votes Sunday 15th April @ 9pm - Saturday 21st April @ 5pm: Yes = 62 (37.6%) No = 103 (62.4%) from 165 votes. An increase in belief of 9.9% Saturday 21st April @ 5pm - Saturday 28th April @ 3pm: Yes = 94 (41.8%) No = 131 (58.2%) from 224 votes. An increase in belief of 4.2% Monday 30th April @ 10pm - Wednesday 2nd May @ 9pm: Yes = 5 (15.2%) No = 28 (84.8%) from 33 votes. A decrease in belief of 26.6%

Aye, it's wrong unfortunately.

Well, there goes a weekend where almost everything went wrong for us. Even Arsenal taking just the point makes them extremely difficult to catch - and it was tough enough to begin with. I'm expecting the poll results to plummet and I'll reset again after the final whistle on Wednesday night. It got up to 41.8% believing before the game at Wigan. I was hoping for 4 points from the three fixtures prior to Everton, it looks a fucking tall order now but it's far from impossible. I still think that'll be enough to make us favourites come the final day, despite Spurs' stroll against Blackburn (fucking negative cunts). Everything is set for a huge game on Sunday against Man City whatever the result at Stamford Bridge, but if we can just take something there and Bolton can do us a favour then St. James' should be white hot come 1.30pm. I can't wait. Let's hope being back top makes City nervous again. I'm still going "yes" but it's hanging by a thread now.

Fonte, take a boo son. Fucking love it when centre-halves pull something like that out.

The two together would be fucking immense. Deja vu there...

Well that was fucking mint

I don't know. THIS! Only missing Ronnie Stam and Albert Crusat by the looks of things, although both are back in training. Rodallega looks like he might be fit enough for the bench at least after being out for six weeks and Di Santo is likely to start despite coming off during their last game with a knock. Al-Habsi, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce, McArthur, McCarthy, Beausejour, Maloney, Di Santo, Moses in a 3-4-3 has been their choice XI of late when all fit. Diame, Sammon, Gomez and Rodallega could all be good options from the bench too. Going to be tough, but if we play like we did at WBA/Swansea it's very winnable.

In amidst all the CL chaos, I've just seen the Villa/Bolton score.
-
Might as well just finish third now then, I suppose. Not "delighted" by any stretch and will be as tortured as anyone during that week and the CL final if we do come 4th. I'm certainly still of the belief we'll qualify, though. Positives I'm taking are that I feel this will increase our chances down at Stamford Bridge next week and that I feel Chelsea's league form won't be enough to trouble us now with this and the FA final on the horizon, plus Chelsea face the prospect of a final without numerous key players as well. The key here is still finishing top four to begin with, at the end of the day. Time to nut up or shut up for us, basically.

They're taking Papiss here like.

It was in Sensible Soccer, iirc. I think so too. What a game that was.

Has it even been called the Eufa Cup?
-
Love the fact we've just won six on the bounce and people are still hung-up on a last minute goal at Arsenal. Fuck's sake

Well that couldn't have gone much better, could it? In terms of NUFC, we were back to being able to field the strongest XI we have available for the rest of the season in the formation that has been so successful recently. This all added up to a comfortable win with no injury concerns and little sign of the pressure a few of us had been worrying about as all of this Champions League "talk" became more real. Cabaye has really stepped up to the plate in recent weeks after being given the freedom to play by Pardew and Cisse just cannot stop scoring, Hatem had his usual moment of class for the first, Tiote came back in and had a stormer and Jonas looks a natural fit in alongside him. The only concern I have currently is Ba's goal drought/general loss of confidence as a consequence, plus the Simpson/Williamson potential for dropping a clanger. However, they've been incredibly solid for a good while now, along with the "good" half of the defence and Super Tim (the Golden Glove dream lives on). Wigan's momentum came to a halt down at the Cottage thanks to a late goal that will hopefully take the wind out of their sails, so we go down there backed by a large away contingent and with nothing to fear. Set up like we did at Swansea and WBA and it's there for us, it really is. Chelsea rotated their squad, as they're going to have to do on a regular basis between now and the end of the season and surprisingly still managed to do enough at the Emirates to drag Arsenal down into our sights. I still think third is fanciful at best, which is saying something considering my optimism at the moment, but the Arse won't relish a trip down to Stoke next weekend, who are going to need a reaction after their performance up here. Anything Pulis' shitty mob can take off them is a bonus, but I'd think a home win there is certainly a decent possibility. Also, with the 0-0 result the gap to Chelsea is stretched to four points, too, which is a big total for them to claw back with the busy schedule that they have. If a similar team to what they put out at Arsenal is picked against us, we should go down there with a lot less fear than normal. Playing them less than 3 days before the FA Cup Final is an obvious advantage, plus they've got Barcelona away on Tuesday and a derby against QPR to come before that too, the latter is a Sunday kick-off that gives us an extra 24 hours recovery time on them as well... setting up nicely? Finally, Tottenham did as expected and buckled at QPR while looking relatively toothless in the process. I don't know how bad the injuries to Adebayor and Saha are, but I don't feel guilty at all for hoping they each miss at least another game. Howay Ledley, you're surely due a breakdown soon too - and the timing would be ideal now with Dawson and Kaboul knacked. On paper you'd still expect them to beat Blackburn at home next Sunday, but then again we'd have said the same about their game against Norwich and Wigan's game at Arsenal... I'm still not exactly confident Rovers can do anything for us though, and I'm more looking to Spurs' trips to Bolton/Villa in the week after to see them drop further points, given their current away form. I've reset the poll and added the results to the bottom of the OP (9.9% increase in belief in the past week) and obviously I still think we can do it. There's still a good way to go and a lot of tough games for us to navigate, but things just keep falling into place. Let's just all enjoy the ride no matter what the outcome, because these are great days PS: Howay Man Utd and howay Wolves, you useless fuckers.

Totally sold-out now 25 hours and 27 minutes to go.
-
Now what kind of attitude is that? That's a 1.5% gain in just under two hours!

That one in '93 was across 42 games, like. Great achievement if we manage to equal/better what Bobby's team did in that regard. Would love Krul to get the Golden Glove, too.
