  1. Amazing goal, and Nicky Butt's finest hour. One of my favourite games of recent times, loved the needle the game had in it and the way we came out like a team that had been wronged in the second half. We always tend to play better when collectively fucked off about something. In regards to this weekend, if we don't lose I'm going to start officially getting carried away. A draw would be a smashing result, especially if we take advantage of the break and the subsequent home fixtures after that. We can even WDL in every three games until the end of the season and we'll be there or thereabouts, like, and that's not especially good/bad form either way (typical mid-table stuff really).
  2. Was saying that myself while watching their game at the weekend, the thought has struck me a few times. He seems to be of a similar character to Nobby too, while also being a good enough footballer to adapt to right-back when required as well, plenty to like about him.
  3. His performance against Man City in particular had me cursing Souness all over again, just love the absolute commitment and willingness to run himself into the ground - while having bundles of class about his play to boot. Massive arsehole, of course, but an outstanding footballer. He must be class to have on your team when he isn't berating you for misplacing passes to him. For some reason he doesn't get on my tits when he's complaining all the time, just get the feeling that he wants to win so fucking bad. Compared to the likes of Keane, they are miles apart. Bellamy is the only person currently at Liverpool that I can stand, let alone like. Some other players are Mata, Silva, Villa (especially when the three of them were at Valencia), Antonio Valencia, Yaya Toure and Modric. Yaya is a great shout, got a real soft-spot for powerhouses (racist?) in the middle of the park anyway but he's much more than that and is a huge, huge player in a pretty special Man City team - somewhat surprisingly, I'd suggest, when you look at the other names in the squad. Valencia another one, just a real quality winger who still manages to be of massive value to Man Utd without the archetypal centre forwards for his type of deliveries. Thought the move was a strange one at the time when he jumped there from Wigan, but he's shown himself to be easily good enough despite the horrific injury he had. Would jizz myself if we had someone like that on our right-flank, especially with Ba and Cisse to aim at.

  5. The beginning of the bubble-wrap bit made me snort like a pig.
  6. Cheers Chris, just been trying to sort this now. Might perhaps be a bit sluggish for the next few minutes, but should be sorted after that

It might happen this time PS: Worth a hover over that emoticon
  8. Loved the bit where Pards was taking the piss out of his pre-season binge and subsequent podginess
  9. Why wouldn't he just pick Ryan Taylor again? Have I missed something? Well we were being overrun in centre midfield last night and bringing on Perch reduced the threat a bit. Just don't see Raylor as an effective CM, he can do a decent job on the flanks but in the centre? Not sure. We need a defensive CM playing and don't think Raylor is that kind of player. Tend to agree, but would be surprised to see Abeid or Perch start in his place. Have to admit I wouldn't be horrified if Perchinho does get the nod, provided we went for a bit of flair out wide and had Demba/Papiss up top.
  10. How about "there's only one tetchy bastard"?

  12. Don't think he played a minute (of the entire FA run), but I might be wrong
  13. Did he say he left for medals? Chorus of 'What you won since you jumped ship?' You've missed the point. Unless your point was nobody else can think of a chant other than you i didnt. My post had nowt to do with your chant. Well you did like, considering you quoted my fucking post and then commented. I was suggesting a self-depricating/somewhat humorous chant that might raise a wry smile or two, given that we tend to be famous for our ability to have a laugh up here (even at ourselves). You went down the embittered road and still managed to be factually wrong to boot, given the FA Cup he "won" with City last season. Now granted he probably doesn't even consider that he won it himself, but you know?
  14. And he has an FA Cup Winner's medal, fwiw.

  16. He was playing in goal for us.
  17. Needs a "where were you when we were shit?" chant, I reckon. Best of both worlds.
  18. He stopped at least two crosses last night, that's progress folks. He was solid enough.

Still think the bloke's a fraud - especially where his football philosophy is concerned - but we're fucking 5th and he seems a delightful chap to boot. Class season so far.

    Peter Løvenkrands

I had just watched 91 minutes of people kicking the ball high/far/into each other and opposition players, that pass was like an eyegasm.

Not the first delightful through ball he's played this season. Get in Pete.
