Diary of a madman: Just pack in We couldn't let this occasion pass without bringing you the latest words of wisdom from the clown who told us that Redknapp was "past the post", before hitching his cart to passing Hughes, Shearer and Houllier bandwagons. And Wednesday brought further bang on the button reporting as follows: "It appears United now favour a continental manager who can speak English – which would rule out the likes of Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce, Steve McClaren and even Shearer himself. "I also understand it is unlikely an appointment will be announced before Saturday." NUFC.com sticking the knife in now, as well. Tasty.

There seriously aren't any tonight anyway. Nowhere has the TV rights to this game.
-
Surely if there's ever a time to bring Local Hero back, it's now.
-
Go for the local if you can, Century is usually the best/most optimistic anyway so they'll be bouncing off the studio walls tonight, but I can't get Century down here.
-
Well, there's just been a lad on BBC Radio Toon who hasn't had a season ticket since 96/97 and he's renewing. Fairweather, undoubtedly, but good for the club.
-
Aye, if you sign up to Newcastle World for a year (£17.99) then you get access to Radio Newcastle's coverage for every match. I'm listening now.
-
John Anderson saying "he waz tirty-tree-to-one!?" has just made this day even better.
-
Team/bench that I expected, let's get into them.

Saturday 19th April Let's see who's laughing then

Wonder if he'll open up training again. Cheers Unbelievable! This interview on that famous website is great, hadn't seen it since it was aired.
-
He said he hasn't watched a game live since his last game at Man City, which probably means in the flesh, he'll surely still have been watching on TV. Watching that Gabby Logan interview now.
-
Gabby Logan: What will drag you back into the game? Kevin Keegan: NOTHING. http://mac.honan.net/uploaded_images/orly-750116.jpg

Ah fucking wank man! The only solace I had missing it was that he wasn't going to be there. BAH!!
-
I can't answer them, only time can, but I will comment on the last one. If the board don't back him after giving him what I can only assume is a massive contract and picking him ahead of all the other candidates, then they want a fucking kicking. I think he'll be given money, he'll be given more time than anyone else would have... he does have unfinished business here and I can imagine that Mike Ashley is someone you'd want to have in the trenches with you, so to speak, the last time he went it's because the ground was moving beneath his feet. I can't see that happening again. If it does, then I'd be mortified. Of course it's a massive gamble, it's an insane decision and it could only happen at Newcastle United, but fucking hell, it's exciting.

"Here Kev, have £20M over 3.5 years and Parky has said we need a £100M transfer budget, so there you go. Do it again." Or words to that effect. £100 million for top 6 I thought? How much for top 4? Erm............. One hundred BILLION dollars! http://arbyte.us/blog_archive/2005/11/drevil_million_dollars.jpg

That's the main thing, for me, without taking future planning into first. The place will get a huge lift, they'll sell season tickets, we'll hopefully start getting back to what we had under KK last time. As it was, right now, the rebuilding job was absolutely immense - a monumental uphill struggle, covering EVERY aspect of the club. Keegan should bring the entertainment back, he'll sell tickets, he'll motivate the players... he could be exactly the person we need to start a "proper rebuild" and when he goes, even if the circumstances turn out the same, we might be in a position to attract a Mourinho, a Hiddink or a Scolari. Of course it could go horribly wrong, but anyone else coming in would be the same. The "getting time" thing is the most important part, I'd worry about any other manager coming in, even if they appeared to be well supported. 76% of 200 people on the main site are "happy" with this, I'm not sure if ANYONE else, bar Mourinho, would have got that sort of reaction. I watch football to be excited, to be entertained, it's why I want to work in football after University. This has inspired me, personally, and the scenes around SJP have been a testament to the decision so far.

You wouldn't? That's heinous! After that warning, if somebody did post a link of that nature then they'd have made a rod for their own back. On said compilation, Steve Watson's goal against Liverpool stands out, it was fucking 1-v-5! Crazy bastard.
-
If people are looking for more inspiration, there's a certain video website with a certain Keegan compilation made my a certain Johnny2j, which is only a few clicks away. I'm watching it now, it has given me a hard on. No direct links tho, obviously! OTHERWISE YOU'LL BE BANNED! ...Imagine that, on this day of all days.

Diego AND Van Der Vaart AT CENTRE-HALF!
-
Pants, shoes, shirts. Just stick them in their school kecks with a pair of shoes, they can wear owt they want underneath a jacket I suppose.
-
They aren't going to get a car near the stadium. They will have to walk the last two miles across the city and through the front door. Fucking hell, that would be a visual.
