For me it depends on the team we are up against; if it is a top team with good wide players I prefer Gordon because he generally works harder, helps the LB and presses more (last couple of games excluded!), whereas if it is a lower team I prefer Barnes because he is more productive in the final third.

We seem a lot more comfortable playing the 3-4-3 or 5-2-3 formation and get a lot more overlaps down the sides. Everton have a slowish defence and with Braithwaite out I would be up for keeping this same formation. If Trippier is back then a 4-3-3 is decent, but it´s the left side middle of the park that bothers me; I don´t like either of Willock or Miley in there, they don´t elevate our game in any way...

I am all in for Mbuemo, secures our right wing and it would lessen the need to buy a back-up striker. Unless of course we get a cut price star (likes of Delap). Would be happy with the Español keeper Garcia for 20-25 million quid, he has had an outstanding season and is quite a decent sized lad for crosses etc. If Guehi is available for under 50 million then it is a no brainer, if Parish starts to f*** us around, immediately loeave to go elswhere. That´s a spend of around 110-120M. Sales of Longstaff and perhaps willock (15-30M) could fund a replacement star midfielder... The rest; i would be happy with overseas stars yet to be proven...

Have botman or schar stepping up into midfield to create overloads, full out ATTACK!!
-
I like the 3-4-3 system. I would stick with it for this game: ------------------------Pope-------------------------- -----Schar-------Botman----------Burn-------------- Murph-----Bruno------Tonali-------------Livramento -----Gordon--------Isak-----------Barnes----------
-
I thought it was very wierd to see Bruno played as a deep lying midfielder, completely wasted his talents. he saves Manu every other game with his worldie passing, goals or free kicks, wierd to see him so far back

I quite like how we have been playing with the 3-4-3 or 5-4-1 systems. The fact that both Murph and Livra are overlapping a decent bit, means we are far more attacking and can afford to leave two/three at the back to mop things up.

I will get shot for this, but I just don´t see him progressing that much, a stable lower table prem. league holding midfielder. Yes, he is "tidy" on the ball but most of his passing is sideways or backwards, he doesn´t seem to be able to create danger as he is not pacy and is far too conscious of not losing possession. He didn´t push forward on sunday either, he sort of "hangs back" to find holes instead of running into space in front of him. Just not my cuppa tea tbh...

Read somewhere over the weekend that Southampton might go for Targett (he started his career there), could be a good way to help with negotiations for Dibler??

If Rice is still out we will have a better chance, he really is their Tonali and what makes them tick. Looking forward to see Tino against Saka!! Think he will take care of him nicely.

Two purples to ease out the current RW & RCB; Mbuemo & Guehi/Huijsen (=100M) Looks like Howe is set on Trafford from Burnley also. (30M) We need two or three up and coming youngsters to fill out the rest. (20M) Could well be a 150M outlay with perhaps 20-40M recovered in player sales... Sell Longstaff (12M), Willock (20M?), Targett (10M) & two goalies vlach and Ruds (10M)

Jackson Will miss last two games for a straight red... Get in! They are toothless without him Up front

The return to a 3-4-3 worked perfectly! Thought botman was outstanding in the middle. Both Murphy and libra didn't let anything pass them until very late in the Game. Really sólid performance

Quite confident with this formation. Botman has enough pace to keep their forward stuhm

Deffo 3-4-3 Our wingbacksnhave enough pace to keep neto and madueke under wraps. Burn might be tasked with following palmer
