I meant if Pardew pushed Meyler as hard, if Meyler head brushed him first. Would Pardew still looking at a stadium ban for retaliation and being a manager. Was it the way he retaliated or was it the fact that he is a manager and retaliated.
-
I wonder if it was the other way round, Meyler rubs Pardew`s sweaty brow for him and Pardew pushes him back a few steps, would there be the same outrage. Is the outrage the action or the fact he got involved ?
-
I still don`t see how its worse other than it was retaliation and a manager should know better. Certainly wasn`t more powerful or aggressive.
-
A couple of online papers I have read have photos in order of how the incident unfolded, for those that didn`t see it. Thing is they start the photos with Pardew randomly head rubbing Meyler, no photo of Meyler pushing/winding a 52yr old man.
-
This is essentially what everyone is getting worked up about, A man rubbing his forehead on someone. I like the wording.

Why should somebody who works in football fall into an exception? If I nutted somebody and went to prison I'd lose my job, why should it be different for somebody in football? Somebody who is more likely to be looked upon as a role model than I am. If you nutted someone as hard as Pardew did and went to prison you would have had the shittest solicitor or barrister in the world. Also when I was at school we all picked footballers as role models not managers, have things changed ?
-
Good idea, let's fine one person a few years wages to bring him in line with somebody who will earn his fine in a matter of weeks. Exactly as you have highlighted, they can`t be treated the same because they are not. One is a member of public that goes to the stadium for fun, so he lost that right for being a twat. One goes to the stadium to work and do a job, so he lost his wages for being a twat.
-
I`m not sure he is allowed to share it publically. I know you can`t record someone and share it.
-
Fair point. That's what I was going to type before work called. I would reply that I would be happy to allow him back to the stadium as long as he pays £100k to charity.
-
Agree with all of that.
-
I`m getting a bit sick of "insert any Newcastle employee" reacts to a situation that they did not start and comes off worse punishment wise. If some twat pushed me like that then it would end in a similar fashion at work or not. In fact it has happened. To be honest if I got sacked I wouldn`t give a shit, I didn`t but still. As for a stadium ban that's nothing, Pardew`s nothing but a cheerleader on matchday, he does his work during the week. Its a known fact that during a match if things go tits up he is useless with subs and changing formation 20 times a game.
-
Before tripping him self over ?
-
If Pardew was a better manager and we were in the top 4, in a cup final, playing good football would people still want him sacked for the head butt ? I`m not defending him as it was cringe worthy, but sacking him for reacting to being pushed is a bit OTT.

http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/ipswich_town_brazilian_footballing_legend_ronaldo_helps_sir_bobby_robson_auction_hit_361_000_1_3370676 An auction in memory of Ipswich Town legend Sir Bobby Robson has raised an incredible £361,000. Comments Email Print . help us keep our site free Pictured from left to right, auction founder Gina Long, Ronaldo and Sir Bobby’'s son Mark Robson. Pictured from left to right, auction founder Gina Long, Ronaldo and Sir Bobby’'s son Mark Robson. Sir Bobby’s Breakthrough Auction hit the figure with the help of one of football’s greatest players. Brazilian legend Ronaldo donated a signed Brazil shirt and even met up with the winning bidder in London for a photograph. The auction has taken place online and also included a ball supported by BT Sport. It raised money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and cancer services within two Suffolk Hospitals. Ronaldo was consistently described by Robson as the best player he had ever worked with. The pair worked together for just eight months but Ronaldo didn’t hesitate to contribute to the auction. He also took the opportunity to meet with Sir Bobby’s son, Mark Robson, and Gina Long who organised the auction, to find out more about the charities it supports. Ronaldo, an Ambassador for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, said: “I was pleased to help Sir Bobby’s Breakthrough Auction. I also have a Foundation in Brazil and I think it’s amazing how people can help others. “Sir Bobby and I had a lot of luck to work in football. It’s good that, through these Foundations, we can help other people.” Sir Bobby brought the 20-year-old striker to Barcelona in 1996, after which Barcelona won the Spanish Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and the Cup Winners Cup. That season, Sir Bobby was named European Manager of the Year and Ronaldo became the youngest player to win the FIFA World Player of the Year. Ronaldo added: “It makes me feel happy to hear how highly Sir Bobby talked about me because he’s a legend of football. I’m proud to have worked with him. He was an awesome coach and an awesome person. He was like a father to me. “I have had a lot of managers in football but the difference between all of them and Sir Bobby was his humanity and the relationships he had with the players. He was always like a father to everyone. “At Barcelona he spoke to me in Portuguese because, at the time, my English wasn’t good. He was very patient. “I remember there were a lot of players for Barcelona from different countries at that time and Sir Bobby managed us all and brought us together. It didn’t matter what language you spoke or what colour you were. He was great.”

Chelsea 3 - 0 Newcastle United - 08/02/14 - Post-match reaction from page 27

From what I saw yesterday every player did the same crap they have been doing since we have had them. I have only watched it once late last night so I might be wrong. I also know this is why we got the players cheap because none of them are the finished product. I just don`t get why Pardew and the whole coaching team hasn`t looked at the players and tried to coach the same weekly mistakes out of them. The frustration doesn`t come from getting beat it comes from watching no improvement in individual play/consistency and decision making. Santon - Jogs around not getting dirty. HBA - Runs around until he gets the ball then looses it before he plays a viable pass. Sammy Ameobi - Does these weird runs where the ball bounces off his shins tricking everyone on the way once every 30 mins. Sissoko - gets into goal scoring positions but fluffs it at the last minute. Marv - looks promising but then does his best impression of Obermong. Gosling & Dummett - Does the job but has nothing at all special about them. -
I think I will wash my car , been putting it off since September. Followed by watching paint dry. My eyes havn`t healed yet from yesterday.

The bit in the article where he says Lyon are on the up, stops short of saying we are happy just to stay in the league.

Oh crap I see I`m about 4 pages behind now.

Delete if this has been posted already. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-transfers-clement-greniers-agent-3095318#.UutUq62YaUk "The conditions of his departure would not have allowed Clement to flourish. He would have arrived at Newcastle, not as Clement Grenier, but as Yohan Cabaye’s replacement. "I have the utmost respect for the quality of Cabaye, who deserves everything that has happened to him. Is Clement really worth half of Yohan Cabaye? "All these reasons led us to decline the offer of Newcastle, the conditions of the deal did not seem fair to me vis-à-vis Clement." What a load of crap. Every player in one way or another joins a club to replace someone. As for fees that's crap too, they are basically saying they want all of the Cabaye money.

Re watching it several times online, there`s a push and a kick on Remy after the whistle, then after a couple of pushes Remy`s head does move about half a mil towards Johnson once their touching eachother. It reminds me of several reds and yellows we have collected over the years where the ref lets the offending player carry on until our players think fuck this and react. Reminds of Tiote`s in the derby ( I think ) where the ref should have stopped it long before our player gets wound up.
-
Did I read somewhere that MA pays transfers all upfront instead of over 3-4 years like some clubs. On 8 mill you can earn up to 3mill interest at 6% in 5 years. I wonder if that's anything to do with him reportedly bidding that bit lower every time.
