I’m sorry but I don’t agree, trying to get people to round on someone based on something they have never said is really nasty behaviour.
-
Lying about what people say though - that’s ok?
-
Absolutely - but football is a squad game now and we want to get to a place where the whole squad is really good. I don’t see Anderson getting there on basis of what I’ve seen.
-
Sorry
-
Good question. I’m still not quite sure - we were dreamy against PSG, solid but lucky against Milan, great against city on LC but not so great PL, blew the Liverpool matched, destroyed by Brighton… it’s a mixed bag this season and last. In my original opinion I said he has a mixed record in big matches. I still think that is the case, but he is undoubtedly very good at making the most of our resources and has won many, many games in a way which suggests he deserves trust and freedom. Am I not also entitled to just give my view on him if I thjnk he’s made a mistake? That’s really all it is, and it does then feel like I get grouped up on for it.

I think we’re one of the best 20 teams in Europe at the minute and aiming to cement that status. I think manure are the same.
-
Genuinely I think you struggle cognitively. There’s not really any reality where you read what I say about Eddie Howe and conclude I don’t think he’s a great manager or the right one for us. I’m just prepared to give an opinion when I think he’s made a mistake. By comparison, you have a tantrum whenever anybody disagrees with a wider-held opinion.
-
I think they’re about where we are, yes.
-
It does make sense though. I want Anderson not to play because I don’t think he’s good enough. I am happy with the others playing because I think they’re good enough.
-
Sure, sorry to be so direct. My ideal preference would be Anderson not playing.
-
I’m also not sure I understand your argument. We kind of are at that level, no? We’re playing in the CL having finished 4th and we’re trying to repeat.
-
Have I ever said that?
-
I don’t really get the froth for saying a player isn’t good enough. For clarity I think it was a good point today, no qualms. Performance was good enough given the context.
-
I think all those players are better than him, essentially.
-
I agree he’s inexperienced and that he’s talented. I disagree that he is good enough at the level we want to be at. It’s not a particularly controversial view.
-
I’m sorry but that’s complete horse shit and you know it is. The words I used were “seems like he’s not the man for the big occasion” on the basis that we have a mixed record in big matches. You posted the other day you’d never survived a job longer than 2 years - wonder why, given you appear to have no grip on reality or what words mean. Lying about what people say to try and fit in with others at someone’s expense is vermin-like behaviour. Shame on you.
-
I just don’t agree at all. He’s a nothing player, the kind one describes as “neat and tidy”. Essentially this is just opinion v opinion, so not more I can really do.
-
Not said he’s shite, just said he’s not good enough for us.
-
But again you’re making arguments up for me. I’ve not at any point said he’s not as good as Bellingham so therefore he’s not good enough for us. It’s a tactic that bullies use to win arguments. Nonetheless - here is a list of players who, in my view, at age 20 or under have done more positive things on a football pitch than Anderson: Hojlund, Udogie, Kerkez, Chukwuemeka, hall at Chelsea, rico lewis, lavia, garnacho, Enciso, Harvey Elliott, Evan Ferguson, Levi colwill…
-
It’s not though. We aim to be an elite football club - he’s not at that level and I don’t see very much to suggest he will get there. I’ve given multiple examples from today’s match…
-
Yes, he did well in that passage of play and it was a great save to deny him. I don’t think he was great in that match.
-
By that point he’d missed 2 presentable chances and been the main contributor to conceding a goal.
-
After multiple poor performances. Anything of substance to contribute or no as usual?
-
Ok - so still waiting for the example of a good thing he’s done. Is being “comfortable in possession and defended well” what you want from our attacking midfielders? I think we can do better, like also offering an attacking contribution, which he doesn’t very often. The age thing is irrelevant. Old enough, good enough. Simple as. Look at Bellingham.
-
Can you give me an example? I’ll give you 3 bits of evidence from today’s match alone: 1. the cross from the right which landed perfectly to feet in the box and in space. He could have pulled back to Isak or shot. He miscontrolled out of play. 2. the pullback from the right, which landed perfectly to feet, from which he had a very presentable chance. He miscontrolled and lost the ball. 3. The equaliser, where he gave coufal the run of the park.
