Quick. No one say anything. Especially Interpolic

Seems to have good stamina. I'm happy for him to ply his trade there and learn on the job. Gutierrez is great for overlapping full-backs with a good engine and a good cross (which is just as well, really! )

Honestly don't know what City see in him. He's reasonable when with Kompany tbf. Not Man City quality, but didn't imagine they'd have a complete overhaul straight away. He'll be phased over the next two transfer windows you'd have thought.

Where's that, Jamie? In fact, can anyone find odds of better than 2/1 for Man City to qualify from the CC Semi-final? 11/5 on bet365 Thanks JH. I put £500 on Liverpool to qualify before the first leg. Returns £1190. Going to whack £228 on City to hedge it. £1 profit or £462. Don't like supporting Liverpool, and I still think they'll qualify, but just in case Man City blow Wigan away their odds might shorten.

We should get him this window if at all possible. Hopefully Pardew will be able to bring him into the first team by December 2012 when Danny Simpson catches a cold.

Landslide, five.

Woah. Big words. I think he'll end up at Chelsea. Especially if Alex can wrap up his transfer away quickly. Cahill, Samba, Terry, Luiz. Edit: Would love Samba here, but too many domestic rich teams with shite/aging CBs for us to have a decent chance I suspect. Also think Venky/Kean will play on that when price-setting. Also, wages, CL football etc

They might have done, but without Diame I think even Martinez will struggle to get much out of them. Also Citeh have a point to prove. If they get an early-ish goal, it could get nasty.

What was wrong with the old MoTD graphics of showing the two teams kit, and then going into the game from there?

Forgot about the MoTD2 graphics.

Made a team of the week: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story/_/id/1009004/team-of-the-week:-january-15,-2012?cc=5739 Not many standout striking performances this weekend, mind!

16 days left and I'm beginning to get mildly optimistic about no departures from the club this window. Hopefully none of the wealthier clubs have any media-inflated collapses for the next fortnight or, and no one individual of ours shines too brightly/consistently. An extra CB would be nice too. Nothing fancy.

Nice that. Also good to see BBC changed their photo caption here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/16567154.stm Someone posted it earlier and it said something about Ben Arfa frustrating the home crowd all afternoon. Glad they changed it. BBC Football has been abhorrent lately. MOTD - technical errors/terrible punditry/bad commentary/poor editing. Live text - so many mistakes/lack of basic football knowledge. Picture choice (Ba in game he didn't play), shite. Just goes on and on, it seems.

Lovenkrands is part of a strikeforce that has scored 'x' amounts of goals this season to help fire us up to sixth, and deserves massive credit. All the rest is detail.
-
Really good form lately, looking a real threat from game-to-game too. Hopefully he can continue to develop his partnership with Santon who looks sensational coming forward.

Except it's called sixth.
