  1. Not placed. Glad I waited for team news this time. No way I'd put so much on them without Rooney and Giggs in the side.

    Not according to the players.
  3. He's allowed to. Seems to be frustrated - at least he cares. Error posting it on Twitter, but we all make mistakes - especially at his age. That said, shouldn't be near the first-team set up atm.

Good post. He is Mr Cautious. Literally won't take a risk, both in terms of the football we play and the personnel he selects. The Ben Arfa situation is a perfect example of it... I thought for a while it was a personality clash, but now I think he's just scared to play him in case he loses the ball occasionally when he's trying to win the game -- it's not a personality clash but a philosophy clash. Ben Arfa plays to win games, Pardew picks teams to not get beat. Interesting post. That Wolves game was the telling one for me. Cruising at 2-0, they're on the ropes - what do we do? Retreat. Lucky (and I mean that) to escape with three points in the end. Glossed over at the time.
  5. Hopefull Pardew's gameplan will work this time and we'll be able to fight and defend a two-goal deficit against the sovereign state of Man Utd. We'll be obliged to give them a tour of our best players after the game obviously too.
  6. Both. And both anytime. Those bell-ends at betfair have settled it as an OG though. That's properly harsh. Especially for Cabaye. The header seemed goalbound.

When we've slipped out of contention for 7th is a fair shout given that most of the people having a go now didn't give us a cat in hell's chance of finishing top 10 back in August. You really are a Pardew fan - the school of thought which dictates "Wait until it is visibly broken" (cf. not phasing Raylor out for Santon much, much earlier in the season) 5 points from 24 now, with Man Utd next.
  8. Such an annoying result. This Liverpool team are so unimpressive. Adam, Spearing, Agger and Skrtel as their spine for most of the game. Pardew wtf were you thinking.
  9. Taylor is better than Simpson in possession, it's true. Tiote and Colo worked so hard to play out of the back. Really smooth and sophisticated shit, then Simpson slices out of play near our own corner flag.

You sure? Wouldn't say good, but barring the rocky spell following their equaliser I thought we were doing okay. Problem is the gameplan was too conservative, and once we went behind we were never going to create too many chances to get back into it. If Ba's effort had crossed the line we'll never know what would have happened, but I just felt they had gears to move up and we were stuck. Was pleased with our second half reaction, even if we weren't playing the ball into dangerous areas - at least we got onto the ball and passed with some confidence. The first half was just... a joke. The freekick that never was changed the game. Pretty typical Anfield stuff, really. After that our heads went down and we just lost the plot entirely (bar that Ba chance).

Full-backs are a much bigger problem. Well, the two Pardew likes to play anyway.
  12. Sorry aye, it's Krul isn't it. One of those who you can't criticise. He was s**** tonight, and was in the last two games n'all. Who you gonna replace him with? Sorry but those are laughably callow comments Yorkie He wasn't world class, but he's by several country miles the best keeper we have. Criticism of mistakes he's made is valid, his distribution is inconsistent at best, but your comments (this game and last) are super OTT given his contribution to our season. [/iMO]

He's known, and prepared himself for it since he chose the line-up and told everyone their instructions before the game.
  14. It'll get buried under lots of other shit, but I thought Williamson did a good job - he's taken to first-team football after a long absence very admirably. Shame he's surrounded by Raylor and Simpson, mind.
  15. Btw, the absolute gall of the commentators to give Gerrard credit for NOT taking a free-kick. No sarcasm or anything. Fuck. My. Life. Comfortably the most nauseating commentary I'll listen to all season.
  16. I don't blame Obertan. I blame Pardew for picking him.
  17. I can't bear this forum sometimes I know you're not WUM'ing but it is beyond my comprehension how anyone can watch that match and say Tiote had a bad game. He was my MOTM.

Overawed by that Liverpool team. We gave them as much respect as Man Utd and Man City.
  19. Too many misplaced passes. Not for the first time today. Thought you'd be one of those to recognize that tbh. Tiote was fantastic IMO.
  20. Frustrating game. Suspect there's a little bit of immediate post-match hyperbole in here right now though. Started to come into the game second half, then Probert wrongly gave them a free-kick, 2-1. Game over. Pardew demonstrating more inept management though.
