x 1000000. This should be the only post on the forum. Okay, maybe not, but clearly a cut above Mr Nice-but-dim Raylor. [He's probably not dim, tbf]. Hope Pardew drafts in Kadar. No reason to be playing Perch if Kadar is available.

The steel in our side (bar Cabaye) has pretty much been systematically stripped out. Not sure what people were expecting. It was perhaps the most predictable match of the season. We showed superior footballing skill and finesse, but lacked any strength to compete. Take the top three centre backs out of any club in the Premiership, then send them to deal with Holt and co - good luck keeping that clean sheet.

Newcastle United Vs Swansea - 17/12/11 - Pre Match Thread
Beren replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
Krul Simpson Colo Williamson Santon HBA Tiote Cabaye Jonas Shola Ba If we can get that team out they're, confident we can get back on track. Really annoying loss. If Tiote still isn't back, then Abeid. If either Colo or Williamson aren't back, please for the love of God don't put a fullback in central defence. Use Kadar, Pardew. Don't let any past petty personal grievances interfere. -
Well done to Simpson too, btw - who has been subject to a lot of stick. Not fantastic by any means, but did very well in an unfamiliar role. Good intro for Santon. Shame we shipped four, but not his fault. Hopefully he'll stay in the team. Shola continued to show really good form too as a link-up striker. So, some positives... but annoying. Shouldn't take it for granted, but Cabaye and Ba were sensational again. Don't deserve to be on the losing side whatsoever.

£120 profit from the 3 o'clocks. Does nothing for my mood though. We're so much better than Norwich >.< GAH!
-
Can't complain with any of that. We were soft in the middle, most of the lads tried really hard. Gosling was daft/poor. Obertan was poor but for one run early in the second half. We looked dangerous going forward, but without Tiote-Cabaye, we were never going to be able to dominate the midfield enough to keep them on the back foot and the exposure off our defence. Hopefully Pardew will learn not to put full-backs in central defence though. We have Kadar - he's an actual centre back who can head the ball. Better than a round peg, or a Perch-shaped peg. No disrespect to the lad, but he's not a centre back. Easy peasy win for Norwich in the end. Which is fucking galling when you think about just how much of a better side we are than them Honestly, if we'd have just one of Colo, Taylor or Williamson - that's a slaughter. Fuck's sake.

Every week, every highlight package. The opponent is attacking his side. Again, not even an exaggeration. Just pure, unadulterated truth. They're attacking Obertan tbf. Raylor is up against two players.
-
He's not even the laziest player in our team man. Exactly. Not everyone out there is especially gifted, but they're sweating the balls off - unlike one fucking lazy culprit. Obertan, get to fuck man. Learn to track back a man from midfield, close down and apply pressure. Until then, fuck off from the first team.
-
Looking forward to seeing the highlights then. It's not still good though. It is man. Everything was inch perfect. The weight, the timing of the run, bringing the ball down - that was poetry. Better than a whack from outside the area any day IMO.
-
Just one bit of incredible quality. Wow. Actually amazing. The pass. The first touch. The finish. Magnificent. Anyway, get that fuckface Obertan off the pitch. Bring Best on for Shola too.
-
Best goal of the season.
-
Fucking quality. Cabaye

How the fuck has raylor been ahead of this guy? [/tongue in cheek]

Jonas and Ryan Taylor do have an understanding, Taylor can't defend so Jonas has to cover his arse.
-
Holt starting and Pilkington benched? Going for it.
-
I've got my 'Haters gonna hate Shola-apple-on-bike image' primed for when he scores.
-
Smith on the bench ahead of Abeid? Only Ferguson as defensive cover. Oh my.
-
Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally,... Davide Santon is in.... a starting berth... [/Dwayne] Shame it took this injury crisis, but what are you gon' do.
-
Jonas captain!
-
A certain Hugo Viana scores for Braga 4-2. [The first of three bets in my "safe" accy]. Massive fart of relief.
-
Smith. Bit odd our vice-captain isn't a starter, but I imagine it would be Sherla. Or perhaps Jonas.

I was referring to the discussion of the relative strength of teams beyond the CL placings in both leagues - and others for that matter. Talking about the big sides, as you allude to, is well-trodden ground.
