Why is it always the manager that gets this abuse and one or two obvious targets like Smith and Carr? I was just thinking today about how little respect I have for our current set of players. And I don't think that it is purely down to their lack of ability. Starting with obvious candidates like Barton and Smith, then Emre and Butt's thugish behavior....mercenaries like Viduka. N'Zogbia's attitude. There are players like Milner who have obvious limitations and might be out of their depth, but at least they try and act like professionals. Some of them....I don't know. I just don't like these people. I wish they played for other clubs. I hate the fact that the club's fate is in their greedy, incompetent hands. I realize that many clubs employ nasty characters, but how did we end up with the most expensive and least talented group?

Players that need to go and players that have to stay

The idea between the Wise/Jimenez/Vetere appointments was hopefully a recognition that this summer will have to be a massive rebuilding project and possibly an effort to find quality talent in England and abroad without paying 6-10 mil a player. -

I agree with that list, but even then I'd sell anyone if the price was right. -
That goal was TOTALLy on Barton, gave the ball away needlessly defence totally of balance. He's beyond s**** tbh BTW For those calling for Keegans head, he won his first game the last time he took over then we lost several horribly, we avoided relegation by one game, it asn't until the following summer when he got "his" players in that things started to get better. I for one will give him as long again Spot on. What does Taylor's positioning have to do with that second goal? Is he supposed to anticipate Barton's inability to pass forwards?

I hope Butt and James Milner pass to our players today, I really do. Great news, all things considered. -

Hell, Butt & Smith again. Makes you wonder what they have to do to get dropped. -
Hoping Bolton win it tbh. Then maybe Sam will be forced to stop talking about his "success" when they win a major continental trophy without him.

Shearer asked to front bid to takeover NUFC

If I didn't know better I'd think the Sunday papers sold more copies if they throw in a weekly story about a Newcastle sacking/takeover/op ed slagging. -
Alan Smith and Nicky Butt. Now Wes Brown and Louis Saha. Why don't we just go and sift through their wheelie bins while we're at it? I could watch Man U tv for £6 a month if I wanted to watch their reserves. Good point. I'd prefer players who view joining the club as a step up rather than the only way to maintain an enormous salary outside of the top 4. Players like Bridge, Brown, Saha...what is the incentive to come to Newcastle and succeed? Surely the whole point of getting Jimenez/Vetere/Wise is so we have a more competitive transfer policy; not the same old overpriced, motivationally challenged cast-offs.

Yep. Work rate always helps, but some of them just aren't up for this level. You can't polish a turd.

Are you confident in Keegan dropping the underperformers?

Are Troisi & Lua Lua any good? Any chance throwing them in might give us a spark?
