Maybe it's the glow of the stadium lighting but my word does it look like Karen Carney has a furry face tonight
-
Honestly who is shouting 'Away!' when the ball is swung in. What do you think they're going to do
-
Now I know what that yellow injury symbol next to a player in a match on FM looks like in real life
-
Good lord can you imagine a 5-aside team with Hall and Miley in it
-
He hasn't had a great game by his standards, but played that perfect pass into Joelinton for the first
-
Looks like Gordon's hair dye
-
Would like to see Wissa buzzing around Woltemade up top in this sort of shape
-
Goal and an assist for a number 9
-
Oh dear it's the same defender pressed again
-
Out of possession 4-4-2 with Joelinton pushed up, still trying to figure out the in-possession shape but it's a clear 3 at the back with Tonali between Thiaw and Botman. Bruno is at the base in the middle with Tripps and Hall roughly in line with him, it's almost like a 3-3-4
-
Up until now this statement could have been etched in stone
-
Back 3 in possession with Tonali in the middle in front of Pope, this really is interesting
-
Clear tactical instructions to push Joelinton up top alongside Wissa, we've needed this for a long time and I hope it continues
-
Giving me Juve vibes, I like it
-
I'm watching our shape closely There is a clear 4-4-2 structure off the ball, Howe's made changes
-
We're sort of looking like a 4-4-2 with Joelinton up top with Wissa
-
Would be good for Wolte as well to have that buzz of activity around him
-
As shown in the Amazon mini-documentary, Gordon is probably Howe's biggest flex signing since he's arrived, he was desperate for him. Tactically, Howe is stubborn and I don't think flexibility otherwise marks much of his character and by dropping Gordon he may think people might think he's made a mistake. Which is ludicrous because managers drop players they've signed for poor form since football began, but Gordon really does seem to be able to do no wrong in Howe's eyes.
-
i.e. switch Gordon to the right
-
TW4 T?
-
The question is why we don't when it seems so obvious to so many. Howe 4-3-3 becoming Dave Bassett 4-4-2 vibes for me.

Joelinton operating in front of Tonali and Bruno completely kills us tactically tbh. If that was Bruno there, with Miley and Tonali behind, we'd be a completely different team. Joelinton is good on the break and getting on the end of chances, but in build-up play he's less than helpful.
