  1. Much rather have 'quality is our identity' than intensity rn tbh
  2. We're going to absolute stink out the Champions League if we make it and continue to play like this.
  3. Tbf to Howe I don't trust either of those players anymore either.
  4. Waiting for an Everton goal at this point tbh
  5. Been like this for 3 games, he's not going to change it. Gordon's got Howe's daughter in a disused warehouse somewhere.
  6. Our approach play is bypassing our best players by constantly looking for the ball in behind, we need some more presence and patience and play more through the middle imo.
  7. Barnes on the right is 10v11 at best

I think our jump was fuelled by the ability to spend almost 3 prior seasons of net zero outlay to bring in the stars that we have - Bruno, Isak, Botman, Tonali, Hall, Livramento were all big money signings in view of PSR. Now, we can only spend £35m per season beyond our income, plus player sales, not accounting for year on year losses that we already have in the bag. I don't think we have the PSR headroom to not sell if the right deal comes along. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see the sustainability with continuing a strategy that was fuelled by using all our PSR headroom in the first 18 months of ownership.

This is how we grow as a club. Hard to stomach but it's the stark reality. We have to grow our overall squad value by buying low and selling high. You can't just keep adding top quality players every summer, that's not how it works unless you're Real Madrid with few exceptions. If he goes for a decent fee, job done, we reinvest with hopefully money to get 2 future Tinos. If he stays, we reap the rewards of a player with huge potential and his value is only going to go up you'd think. It's not an exact science and it won't always work, but it's pretty much the only way we can catch up. No emotion either way on this one, I don't think we're going to be taken for mugs, the sale of Kelly has given me confidence in how we're going to manage the departures and the business side of transfers going forwards.

Nope, serious. Have a lot of respect for the likes of yourself and Froggy who can seem to rise above the common baiting and goading in foreign territory here. Keep it coming, saves me trawling other fan boards to find other perspectives

Really appreciate the insight and time taken with your posts, @leffe186
  13. I'm going to love watching it to be honest, nothing better
  14. Best possible result for us as a club. Keeps Ange at Spurs potentially, keeps Man Utd down and gives us more time to establish.
  15. Palace, Newcastle, Spurs all winning a cup in the same season, what would have been the odds?
  16. CL and a euro cup, I'd take that. Well done Spurs.
  17. Beginning to think Osula is the succession plan to Murphy atm. Depth in the spine of the team seems to be our biggest issue - Striker through Centre Mid through Central Defence (particularly if we continue with 3 centre backs). I've said before but the most transformative signing to make our all-fit first XI better is a good ball-playing keeper, but it's probably not the most urgent squad signing. 1. Understudy to Isak 2. Depth at CM (Willock/Longstaff aren't can't do it) 3. If Burn, Schar and either of Lascelles/Botman can stay fit we're OK but a couple of injuries here and it's not ideal at all.

3 Lloyd Kellys or 1 Alexander Isak, great business.

I think he's just playing within the tactical instructions from Howe, he's young and doesn't know when to take those risks like Bruno or Tonali does. This will come with time, his ball retention and first touch is top tier, his weight of pass is good. I want to see him play behind Isak.
