I'm all in on Woltemade The only question is is he Berbahimovic or Ibrabatov
-
Sure - I think we have a few options tbh, it's all fantasy stuff though as I've not seen much to suggest us ever moving away long term from a flat 3 in the middle. But Miley behind Tonali and Bruno, or Tonali and Bruno at the base with Ramsey in front would seem like a step forward. I think either would be better than what we currently do, it would encourage interplay through the middle. We can't play through the middle atm with our flat lines. From the little I've seen of Ramsey I'm really excited, I think he's absolute quality, like a 5* Joe Willock with his directness but also quick feet and can hold up the ball and resist a press.

Thiaw, Botman, Tonali, Bruno, Miley should all comfortably hold posession against 95% of teams we face. But we bypass midfield with how we play and just boot it to the wings most of the time. I'm his biggest fan but I think if we want to go to the next level and try to beat presses by passing through the middle and being smart, Joelinton in the middle isn't the answer for me. Right now, he might actually be our best option on the left up top with the form of Gordon and Barnes the way it is currently. Pretty sure that's where he used to play before he came here.

S-tier players in our first XI Woltemade Tonali

Gets worse the longer his hair gets. Noticably spends a lot of the time off the ball fiddling with it, not even joking.

Personally I think 4-3-3 has run its course 4-1-2-3 iyam All fit - Livra-Thiaw-Botman-Hall ----------Miley----------- -----Bruno----Tonali----- -Wissa---Wolte--Elanga-- In possession full backs can get forward, wingers can tuck in to overload. Out of possession it can become a 4-5-1 easily enough. All that aside, the decision to start Burn LB vs Saka is confounding to me, especially leaving Trippier on the bench and Livra could have dealt with him. Murphy never plays well when we don't have the ball, should have been Elanga for the counter. Joelinton was chasing shadows and looked out of his depth. Gordon's basic footballing ability has deserted him. Combination of bad tactical choices combined with some very out-of-form players, lucky to only lose by 1 tbh. I have faith Howe will turn it around but he might need to evolve his tactical thinking, I know I'm a broken record but this flat 3 in the middle just doesn't work in possession for us, it give us nothing.

Flat 3 in the middle with a gulf between defence and midfield and also attack and midfield. 3 very isolated sections of the formation with no hope of build up play through any. It's long to the wings or bust.

No it was a clear 4-3-3 and we got absolutely bummed down their right
-
Hope that finally wakes Eddie up to some of the glaringly bad form of some of our passengers today.

Only one team going for a win here and it's not us
-
I really don't think Pope meant that
-
Of all the ways to pronounce Joelinton, I've never heard someone omit the N entirely

Big Willie Style, let's go
-
Rice was going absolutely full tilt there
-
I think Eddie's alarm is on silent

Gordon Banks special

@Smal suggested Miley for Gordon and move Joelinton to LW, thought it was a good shout to maintain some bite and help control possession
-
An in-form Osula isn't the worst striker to bring on against tired legs

Subs o'clock
-
Not a bad shout

Been a few below par performances, Pope and Thiaw have been exceptional though. We won't see any HT subs for tactics but as poor as Gordon's been, Joelinton isn't even in the game in any phase of play. Hoping for some tweaks at HT.
