In deep concentration, looking to the sky to remember his canned, media-trained responses Bless

    Joelinton

Best time for him to be called up - it validates his whole approach this season. That he's kept doing it his way, playing that destroyer role while adding goals to his game as well., has got him there. If he wasn't going to get a call up after a season like that, it might have put nagging doubts in his head about trying to change his game to get into the squad. Instead, Brazil are thinking differently and changing their approach by bringing in Joelinton. Well done Big Joe, you deserve every success and accolade that comes your way.
  3. Gives me Juve vibes for some reason, but in a good way.

Clearly he's been watching videos of Miggy's 1-2s with Bruno
  5. Any idea of where this puts in relation to other clubs' revenue for main shirt sponsors ?

    What a bump
  7. Inject the shit out of Longstaff's foot to get 70 minutes out of him for this game please
  8. Point away at Elland Road whilst playing shockingly, take that all day long.
  9. Has anyone ever seen Gordon run when he doesn't have the ball, whether we're in possession or not ?
  10. Don't listen to the haters @mikejaxer, I appreciate the visuals
  11. Allardyce to Leeds is giving me Kinnear to us vibes, granted the amount of time away was nowhere near what Kinnear had, but football's changed so much, he's not evolved at all. I bet if you asked him if he's had media training he'd say he didn't know the player yet but hopes to get to know him soon enough.
  12. We've got the better player.

    Alexander Isak

I think you're reading too much into my post, if you go back through my posts you'll find I'm far from Maxi's greatest critic. Maxi dribbles with his head down, Isak dribbles with his head up, he's on another level.
  14. I could have seen us getting a 6-1 against an abject Spurs side, but I would never have thought we'd have gone and scored 5 at Goodison.

    Where are Everton?
  16. I never knew Wilson had that kind of goal in his locker, the audacity, the confidence, love it. Wilson's always been a striker with so much self belief it verges on arrogance, but he backs it up time and time again.

Henry wasn't as good at close control as Isak is. Not to say the rest of his game is the same, but I think it's doing a disservice to Isak's absurd ball control that's honestly up there with Beardsley. He needs to be encouraged to try that more, he's truly gifted.

    Joelinton

The celebration for Joelinton's goal, with Bruno hanging off his shoulder, voice cracking as he screams, Wilson chirping in to, and then there's this bestial warcry that a Viking would be proud of COME ONNNNNNNNN

Aye, I find RAWK a nightmare to navigate through, if anyone is familiar with those forums and sees NUFC players mentioned, please link!

Isak dribbles with the ball under his body, like Beardsley, whereas Maximin dribbles with it out-front, like HBA. But unlike HBA, he doesn't have the strength (despite appearances) or outright speed/acceleration to get past players who contest him while he does it.
  21. Some of the stuff he did last night, incredible. Deep in our half he received the ball as 2 Everton players closed him down, with a big gap between him and our defence, and he did a pirouette to take the ball away from them and bring it to safety and calmy passed it out to the right. But somehow, even better than that, when he had THREE Everton players kicking his ankles for a few seconds near the dugouts before loosing a pass that set Callum Wilson away on the right hand side.. I think he might just be the best player I've ever seen at my club. And I don't say that lightly.
  22. Best performance for us, he was passing and moving to receive 1-2s and looked electric and direct. He is very good at passing to feet first time when under pressure when receiving the ball. Just needs to keep his head up a bit more to prevent himself running into dead-ends when he's progressing with the ball. I'd still like him to move more off-the-ball, it looks like he's used to being the ball-carrier and picking it up deep and carrying it up the pitch, but we don't really play like that. Need him to make those runs in behind that Joelinton has quickly become known for.
