Name a better one over the last 8 years. Nesta is the only one who comes close. Rio in his prime actually reminded me a lot of Nesta. The only English CB that had that kind of composure and was able to comfortably play the ball out from the back. He's not actually that good on the ball IMO just way better than any other English defender on it hence why it is highlighted more.

It's a strange situation with him, okay you could say that he wouldn't beat the man as easily in the Premier League but there's absolutely no logical reason why he can produce that quality of cross in the Championship but not at this level. I think Routledge's problem is that he's a very frail, confidence player. Stick him at that level, and he feels it is "his" platform, he can do it, and has done it with consistency. He has never done it in the top flight, and now has three experiences of trying to do so, and failed each time, so it is just getting harder for him. True. Although I wouldn't of said he was necessarily shit for us this season. He is a very one dimensional player though so maybe the better defender finds him easier to mark.

I'd guess at the ball deing dead for about 20% of the game. I'm sure when we played Stoke in the relegation season the ball was in play for less than 45 mins or something daft like that.
