Had a decent game, looked lively and scored the winner at the death. Like it being deflected makes any difference. TBH, I think Parky's been waiting for this opportunity to post that comment. If Turan had been crap he would have just said that everyone was writing him off based on one game.

Someone said that on the telly, and I disagree. If it'd carried on raining then maybe, but even by the time it stopped it wasn't close to being abandoned IMO. The ball still ran well enough in most places and the pitch wasn't cutting up at all. I'd have been surprised if it had been called off. I was thinking that myself. And after half time you could see the ball was bouncing no bother so it was just heavy surface rain. The pitch wasn't waterlogged.

We need 5 or 6 players, so why waste half the likely transfer budget on him? Why "waste" it on Modric? The board obviously think we have enough of a budget to spend big on a player. A player of that quality can make a massive difference to a team. Imagine Spurs without Berbatov, Everton without Arteta, Villa without Young. Exactly, and he is a young player who's more likely to give us value for money which is apparently what we are after.

I would say so. He has that spark about him and looks like a good all-rounder.

Hmmm not sure, he's been highly rated for years now and went to Hamburg? I'm not 100% but I think they did well in the German league last season. I think he scored something like 10 goals for Hamburg in the league, not too bad, a player that i like..I like players that can keep possession because of the technical quality some have when it comes to first touch and passing and all that.. Yeah he looks class to me but there must be some reason that the big teams don't take a gamble on him. Temperament?
