I think you can take one positive from it. The squad players have had plenty of match practice and should be a bit sharper than normal when they are called upon which could be pretty much straight away given the injuries/jailbirds etc. How many more pre-season games do we have? The first eleven is going to be rusty as fuck from the looks of things..

I'd probably go with this, only having Duff where Milner is, Milner where Zoggy is, and Zoggy where Duff is. Duff will be more useful cutting inside from the RM spot than Milner would be and Zogs is decent cutting inside from the LW position. Milner should be ok playing next to Guthrie in CM with more of a forward thinking mind than Guthrie would. I'd go with that except Ameobi for Smith. Smith has looked incredibly shite in a 4-3-3 everytime he's played. I'm certain Shola could be better than him in this formation. At least he would stay upfront. Shola's injured and won't play tonight. Oh well. Smith hat-trick then.

Just as per the title. They've confirmed a fee is agreed, we've said nothing apart from KK saying he thinks it's nearly sorted and there should have been some news 'over the weekend'. The Spanish papers suggested he was due in tomorrow for the medical. Sounds sorted then. Pricey but sounds like a top class defender.
