"What do Clarence Seedorf and Pete Doherty have in common? They both get caught in possession an awful lot." [/James Richardson]
  2. We need another Zebra in the Gallowgate.
  3. How about you ask Dr. Spectrum and not judge him on two games?

Seeing as the left-back played 40 games for them last season I'd say that you're talking shite son. Then there's Riggott as well, been first choice for how many years at the club now? Sorry Dad. Meh, you could argue that Woodgate, Huth, Pogatetz and Young could rival that entire backline. You could, but you'd be wrong though.

That's how shit scared the ball is of Zinedine Kilbane, whenever they're pumping balls to Tuncay out right, it's going so far that both of them cannot get anywhere near it.

Did you see the reaction btw in the Charity Shield when Rooney fell onto his leg? OMG YOU CAN'T GO WITHIN 10 FOOT OF PETR CECH NOW AS HE HAS A RESTRAINING ORDER ON ANY PLAYER COMING NEAR HIM WITHIN THE SAID RADIUS!

The way Andy Gray sayed Sibeirski and Heskey one after another then, just sounded like the one word. "Sibeirskiheskey."
  14. Gemmill's mate siphoning company funds on O'Neill becoming our manager iirc.
  15. Quality player from what I've seen. We should go in for him when they go down. This Smoggie lad I know reckons he's better than Fabregas.
  16. No. Everyone rates Shearer. Well, everyone except KingDawson. And the stick Shearer gets is generally because he has/had far too much power at the club, and perhaps that he should have retired earlier instead of keeping potentially more useful players out of the team. Shearer's very underrated by a lot of other fans in my eyes, people only seem to remember the slow and immobile Shearer at us post '97, the one who backed into defenders, played with his back to goal etc. They tend to forget that from '92-'97 he was possibly the finest centre forward to have played on these shores, as a striker during that period of time he had it all. All culminated with a cruciate ligament injury in there as well.
  17. Since when did we all become so obsessed with The Yids btw?
  18. Aye but he might be saying it as in 'brother' you know?
  19. Deep lying playmaker I'd say, although he'd be nowhere near as effective if he never had Gattuso around him doing the dirty work. Struggled when he was playing more advanced earlier on in his career as well, you'd think though learning off the God that is Baggio would have helped him in such a role.
  20. Didn't know Freddy Flintoff played for Bluestar.
  21. Owen's aged 500 years in a couple of weeks by the looks of things.
  22. Says a lot about the state of our national side doesn't it? Probably explains why we haven't won a wrapper for forty odd years. You can whinge about the bad luck we've had through out the years but at the end of the day we've never been good enough. Big Sam's recent comments sums it all up, there's no talent here in England. So when we do churn out the odd player that is half decent he's snaffled for a ridiculously over inflated price in the hope he will be our next player to set the world a light, someone who can carry us and we can pin out hopes on. Now the influx of foreign player could be used as an excuse but that doesn't sit well in my opinion. Domestic leagues all over Europe are filled with foreign players. Just look at Italy, they won the world cup yet their top side barely managed to field an Italian last year. The good old academy and scouting networks are letting us down big time. Being payed to play for your country doesn't help. It's always annoyed me, it should be an honour to play for your country and you should have to earn your place not walk into the side every game because of the name on the back of your shirt. Anyway back to the point... Wayne Rooney is a very good player, but he will never be world class. In fact for the most part he is a very average player who can muster up the odd flash of brilliance that keeps us thinking the best is yet to come. If we do eventually see that brilliance on a regular basis you can bump this thread and give me the good old "I told you so" speech, but some how I don't think you'll ever get that chance... I've always said with Rooney, his versatility has always been a problem for him at Manchester United in my eyes, because he does have that siege mentality, he will run himself into the ground for the cause, for this reason he gets shunted out with for Man United which only hampers his progress in my eyes. He's being played out of position at the moment as well, he should be give a free role behind an out and out striker, week in week out, but I suppose Taggart is only doing what's best for his club.
  23. I can't recall seeing many English players at the same age being as good as Rooney.
  24. Minimum of 15 home wins, nothing better than unrealistic expectations.
