A few times I saw him go to leftback each time Santon went on his ridiculous runs. Was really pleased Pardew has given instructions to let Santon do whatever he wants (will likely come off sooner than later), and to have cover when he does so from midfield.

I want to fuck him and HBA. Anyways, what the fuck, how come I don't get an assist or more points as his cross led to an own goal? Fantasy football works in strange ways.

What an incredible performance. Rightfully beating Man U and Chelsea will be talked about, but it's games like these that are going to make our season. The players look so comfortable, so confident, almost arrogant. The French signings have not only settled in well now, they seem to have almost sussed out the league and what's required to play here. Joyous stuff to behold. Every single one of them deserves credit, including fuckface Pardew. Keep this up and he may just see out his 8 year contract

Good thing I asked

I'm guessing this is our manager?

Bimpy, that 443 would be magic to watch going forward, but who in the middle of the park? Anita, Kebab and Tiote? Siss dropped?

I hate Mike Ashley.

One of the reasons this forum has consistently been brilliant to frequent over the years. Like that time after we won against Norwich when everyone was just complaining about everything under the fucking sun. Humans are just whiny, fickle bastards in general, and this forum is an apt microcosm.

DJ thinks Remy attitude has been off lately and ‘doesn’t give a shit’ for us. So probably digging at him not being dropped whilst Ben Arfa is warming the bench. You lot are batshit crazy. Please scroll back to the pages where I mentioned I may be actually wrong about that, and I even quoted myself back to YOU, Brett. I give up. Everything you say on this forum is set in stone tablets somewhere apparently, with people using it against you as some kind of evidence to justify getting catty

I'd actually argue he's up there with Robert, Solano, etc. Bobby would've got the best out of him and made him the fulcrum of his attack.

Well forgive me for having a bit of a soft spot for one of our players It's an awesome feeling after supporting the likes of Damien fucking Duff and Albert Luque and Brian Pinas (?) and Fumaca. Let me have my sentimentality Fuck your soft spot. I form my opinions objectively. Yes, I'm sure you're very objective with all your opinions on a football forum Dinho Lad for best poster ever on the internet, apparently. Yeah, because that's what I was really implying. You've just admitted that you defend players from criticism because they happen to be one of your favourite players, pretty much. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy...!! Not at all, actually. I really don't think you have studied my entire archive of posts since I've been on this forum to ... ahem, objectively make that case. And no, that's not what I said. I just agreed that I have a soft spot for HBA because, erm, he's our best attacking player, one of the best we've ever had. No way have I ever stopped or blocked any criticism of certain parts of his game that need improvement. I just think it's a massive failure of imagination from management that he's not involved in the starting 11, and he's been made a scapegoat by some who are perfectly okay with others getting away with the same shit he does and remaining in the first team. Pointing our hypocrisy is probably more of a case for objectivity, I would argue. Methinks you need to apply a bit more of that objectivity balm. Anyways, can we take this to the HBA thread?

If he just stops wandering away from his position, leaving Colo / Willo to cover when he goes wandering, it'll automatically result in a more solid backline. He's definitely the weakest link in the back four, however, he's a fantastic player and he'll only improve as time goes on. We forget how young he is still, and he can iron that part out of his game.

BTW, if you think I'm whiny now about HBA being out of the team, you should've read my posts when Duff was starting ahead of Insomnia Feel free to dig'em up.

Thank you for your measured, insightful retort to my previous posts. No problem. It was quite measured actually. One of the reasons I'm sure some hesitate to express any kind of opinion or start any debate on this board, people like you. Immediately getting personal and calling another names. Very mature, way to drag us all down with you. Boo fucking hoo. When your views are such utter bullshit expect to be ridiculed. Still keeping it classy and pretty thick, I see Boris Johnson would have field day with your IQ score. It's interesting you should say that people like me put people off posting their views on here as I'd say people like you put people off coming on here at all. Spout an absolute lad of crap, get pulled up on it, start whinging like a bitch then somehow relate your own diatribe to you having more intelligence than the person who's laughed at your clearly ridiculous views. You did not attack or criticise my views. You called me an imbecile. Do you also suffer from selective memory? If you'd simply debated like a rational adult instead of calling me personal names, maybe you and I would be having a very different conversation. But of course, it's not your fault at all that this conversation devolved right after your post. The thing with people like you is that you would never talk to someone like that in person, but through the safety of the internet you think it's fine to do so. Some decorum needs to be maintained on this board, and no, I won't accept that somehow I'm the one who devolved this convo to where it is now. Anyways, keep calling people names, see where it gets you.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change a starting eleven that has won 5 out of the last 6. I'm just saying, along with many, that failure to include our best player into the first 11 is a failure of imagination from management. And it could very well come to bite us in the arse when we continually keep coming out in the second half a team ready to be beaten. We have never gone in for the kill under Pardew, something players like HBA are pretty much made for, it's always the heavy-petting of an influential uncle that puts other teams to sleep, and we hustle hard to keep them quiet in the second half.

A voice of reason in this thread, one of a few. Thank you.

wat Goodness me, what the fuck is it with this board? Dave, I just woke up, this was not some pro-Cisse laying-of-the-gauntlet sentence, I'm trying to see if the issue is simply finishing or he's completely stopped even reading the game. Calm down you tart. I think I just got my period.

This is exactly it. No it isn't, not by a long stretch. If you'd ask Pardew who he'd rather play when given the choice, a confident striker who scores a goal a game (or even 1 in 2/3) or one who barely ever scores, I think he would prefer the former without a shadow of a doubt. The reason Cisse has offered even less to the team than Shola fucking Ameobi has nothing to do with Pardew, or even with Shola, it's because of the incredibly disappointing performances and contribution of Papiss Cisse himself. That's fair I suppose, Cisse has been utterly terrible all season and that's why he isn't in the team. However, the point is, under Pardew we're likely to get more results when playing a lumbering target man, at the expense of more expansive/progressive options throughout the squad (I'm not referring to Cisse here). We've seen him dabble with 4-2-3-1s and the likes of, and the bloke hasn't got a clue. Doing it this way is just a limited tactic for a limited manager, and probably our best option. Hopefully we get a serious upgrade on Shola in January. An upgrade on a Shola-type of targetman is what Pardew dreams of every night, from the looks of it, and from our failed attempts at bringing Carroll back.

Just watched Coutinho do exactly (less in terms of attacking force, actually, in comparison) what people on here are complaining HBA of doing... choosing the wrong options when in some great positions, making the wrong pass, etc. Will Rodgers drop him? I don't fucking think so. I've seen this from him from day one, but that's what you get with your attacking players, it doesn't always come off, but you don't leave them to rot on the fucking bench. They won 5-0 btw.
