  1. If he has.. I’ll build that man a statue with my bare hands in appreciation
  2. Probably good news for us Likely bottom 5 again for them next season. I'm absolutely gutted, Potter showed every bit as a manager who could build us up and drive us back to the Premier League. Another fantastic showing from our disasterous hedge funded American (non) investors. Anyone thinking Brighton will be in trouble with this appointment I believe you will be seriously disappointed. Really? Any particular reasons why you think that Seems another Jokanovic type I’ll be interested to see how he does in the Premier League though. Sorry not responding straight away, I updated my email address and ended up being locked out of my account for a few days. Why. He came to us after our relegation, had almost the entire squad ripped away. Only Naughton, Van Der Hoorn, Olsson, Roberts, Montero, Fer and Bony available from last season to him. Van Der Hoorn and Roberts were back-up last season. He was allowed to sign a few young players like Celina, McKay, Dhanda and Asoro plus Cameron Carter Vickers on loan. The rest of the team were U-23 players from last year. Routledge and Dyer became available later when they voluntarily removed aspects of their contracts. We also later got Declan John. Olsson, Fer, Montero and Bony were almost always injured and Montero and Bony were loaned out as soon as they were fit. With the bones left him he managed to get us close to promotion. Had we a decent keeper we may have made it up even, the amount of goals conceeded due to Nordfelt's line standing was rediculous. We played good football most of the time and the players loved playing for him. He has a Masters degree in leadership and emotional intelligence. In other words he's very good at getting the best out of the players available to him. The reason he has left no doubt is the string of broken promises by our hedge fund owners who's only committment is getting as much profit for themselves before they no doubt will sell the shell of a club they will have left. Having moved up a number of U-23 players who have proven the worth of catagory one status, the owners will sell any of the players they can make money on. there is no plan to develop these players only their bank accounts. I think Potter will do extremely well with backing. Interesting I’ll be interested to see how he does I still think it will be Jokanovic all over again. Very brave style change and appointment from Brighton.
  3. More like their 22 year old alternative to buying grandpa Rondon He’d be an ideal understudy/competition for Rondon though.
  4. Yeahhhh Let's start the Jetro bandwagon again! Didn’t he get spotted in Newcastle back then or something
  5. Just seems more due to the outstanding season of Filip Kostic They’ve tried getting him in the team in the middle of midfield some games. Over 40+ career assists though as a full back is very impressive. Still only 25. Yeah, seems he was just beat out by Kostic really emerging. Like you say, he is still a good age, and it would be an incredibly shrewd signing I think. Shouldn't be an overly expensive signing either, and one that we should hopefully be able to do quite quickly. Interesting that he was versatile enough to do a job in midfield. Always useful to have players can feature in different spots in the team. Talk of only €7million It would be near Schar and Lejeune level shrewd if he can deliver balls like he did at PSV. I think they play him CM becuase he’s so comfortable on the ball. Defensively the Premier League would be the test for him though.
  6. Shearer absolutely bullied Sol Campball and Stephen Carr that day

  8. Jetro Willems has named us in the German press as one of the clubs that want him this Summer. Fallen out of favour this season due the form of Kostic at left wing back(Scored + assisted 16 goals this season) I wouldn’t be against this one though, has great delivery in open play and set pieces suits wing back too
  9. I actually had the decency to send apologies to all/most the mods most of them didn’t even give me a reply. Only one I got back basically just told me my posts are boring so I said I’ll make sure in future my posts entertain forum members as boring ones are forbidden well by me anyway. On a “40%” warning for basically boring posts. If you look at 95% of my posts in fairness they’re the opposite of non contributive posts but then that is in fairness. Like you say I think they were hoping I started insulting forum members so they can have a decent reason but I have no interest in doing that as not one forum members annoys me because I’m fine with different football opinion even if I don’t agree with it. I certainly wouldn’t want someone warned for it Either way they can be how they want I’ll just try to keep the majority of my posts non boring
  10. To be fair I saw interview with Manquillo and he can’t speak a word of English.
  11. Can’t wait for Andre Marriner to book Rafa Benitez next season for giving him a thumbs up from the touchline Mike Dean is going to absolutely have his way with that cards for manager rule. Bet that rule was thought up by him.
  12. You what If Watford respected the defensive side of the game they wouldn’t have got totally and utterly humiliated like that Just glad I don’t have to watch us get humiliated like that. Would we have got beat in that manner absolutely no chance becuase we have a manager who respects that part of the game. These sides love getting the love in every week for open expansive football they need to take it on the chin when that style gets thumped like it mostly does against the Big 6. The most successful way to beat Man City is the way us and Crystal Palace did with 30% possession low block and being good in quick transitions/counter attacks. You play them at their game they will love it and humiliate you.
  13. Be way too many games decided by penalties if we start giving unintentional hand balls too. Crystal Penalty Fc already win enough matches via penalties than to have a rule change that will give them even more. Last thing Newcastle want is it to become a penalty league table we’d get relegated every year
  14. He comes across as that sort of character his agent always comes out with that kind of stance too. Seems on the the same type of downward path as Alexis Sanchez. It should put Man Utd right off paying big for someone coming out with those kind of quotes.
  15. That stat I put up is apparently even more remarkable than I first thought Quique Setien is the ONLY away manager to win at Real Madrid and Barca in a single La Liga season SINCE 2003 Only man to win at Real Madrid in consecutive seasons since 1935 Got 10th and 6th. Invite him to the Sports Direct offices now Mike and entice that man with a SD mug haha.
  16. Be interesting to see where he ends up someone will be getting a extremely talented manager Jesus christ I was so fucking confused reading this straight after seeing Pardew's mug. In my head I thought this was a response to Pards
  17. Be interesting to see where he ends up someone will be getting a very talented manager I mean how many managers have won AT Barca AND Real Madrid in the space of 2 years While having more possession in BOTH games I think if they were patient with him he would have gone onto do very well.
  18. You liking Quique Setien amazes me I don’t love his sides defending at times but very very talented manager Some of the transition football they play through the lines in the 3-4-2-1/3-5-2 formations is incredible. I wouldn’t be against him replacing Rafa IF someone has to Rafa has already layed solid foundations in our 3-4-2-1 would be interesting to see Quique Setien add his incredible transition play to it. A mix of Rafa and Quique Setien would be my version of total football great with the ball and great without it
  19. Quique Setien has apparently been given the boot by Betis just after beating Real Madrid Very talented manager.
  20. with that budget in 3 years we'll have a cup or a european place imo...or at least be very close Aye Rafa can’t beat cheque book Guardiola Already beat him with his hands tied behind his back. Shit, forgot you won a trophy for beating one team at home a few years prior. Point is Rafa Benitez is probably one of the most capable of beating Guardiola in a one off game far more than the likes of Gracia. Rafa has beat Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs as Newcastle United manager. His tactics will always mean he will beat the Big 6 among the most of any of the teams outside it. While the others get spanked
