I wonder if we have any interest in Akliouche still (if links were to be believed). Doesn’t seem to be much competition for him at this very moment. Would like to see us take advantage similarly to how we did with Bruno at the time. Would be my choice for RW.

Could be. Nico Paz going to us with Baturina to Como?. (AMC). Seriously though. I imagine he goes back to RM or stays.

Elanga has better output overall apart from goals, and he has played a lot more minutes. I’m not gonna disagree and say that Madueke is better finisher, probably not atm. I just think Madueke would flourish under Eddie in a more settled environment where he’s allowed to find consistent instead of tossed around the pitch and the bench here and there and with Chelsea’s possession for the sake of it at times. Imo you cannot underestimate what that settled environment can do to you on the whole. Madueke often creates chances as well as getting himself into good chances. Just need Eddie to fine tune things and allow him to get proper momentum. Also not sure how many chances I’ve seen Jackson miss, created by Madueke.
-
Fair enough. I think Madueke offers a lot more by being less limited. He’s better technically and in general play. His output can get better rather easily. Can’t teach Elanga natural ability on the ball imo. Madueke can be effective in both transitions as well as against a low block.

We don’t know, we might move towards a 4-2-3-1 at times. IF we sign Pedro he will start most games. Otherwise we wouldn’t spend this much and he definitely wouldn’t come. It also would solve the issue of having more depth in the striker area. As well as allowing us to play one CM less to rotate or for tactical reasons. As well as giving us a link between midfield and Isak which I’ve wanted for a long time personally. So I hope it’s true and we get him.

Offer Chelsea a 25m loan fee for Madueke with a 25m obligation to buy next year. If not acceptable then say around 45 something for a permanent now. Think he’d become class under Eddie in a more settled environment as well as being a key player. His output will go up quickly imo.
-
Taking everything with a massive pinch of salt like. Can only speak about the links hypothetically.
-
I really hope we get this done. I can see him in our side in my head already, and what he’d offer as well as the advantages he would give our other players. Could change the whole dynamic. I genuinely think he would be a transformational signing for us, especially when I genuinely believe that he has a couple of levels to go. I can see him getting to those levels rather quickly too. The more I’ve thought about it the more convinced I’ve become.
-
Can they give us AG then.
-
Who exactly is jealous of them signing this young promising player? Joao Pedro is one that I really think we need for many reasons. Not some unproven. Regarding other cases. Some people laugh at other clubs signings, some rate some of them. What’s so unnatural about it? And not everyone bashes every signing we make. Like you make it sound. There will always be people complaining about players, also players they haven’t seen. And praise players they haven’t really seen. Just the way football is.
-
Was it weird? Not really. Also he isn’t just some random teenager. If a club signs a player with massive potential then I don’t think it’s weird to say that he could be a class signing (long term). It doesn’t mean that he will. Don’t see why it’s a big deal! You’re making something out of nothing here.

I’m Swedish. I also happen to be a massive fan. Low wages.
-
Obviously doesn’t tell everything, but the Cup win and his performance there against Salah probably also gave him a mega boost. It somehow felt like he came off age there, like properly. I know he has done well at LB before that as well but it could be that he didn’t feel quite as confident those periods where he played RB. As well as a different player in front of him too as mentioned.
-
There’s definitely risk there despite him being highly rated.
-
No worries, didn’t take it as a dig. You might be right in some cases. But it’s also difficult to tell who exactly has said exactly what. I for one am very excited about JP. I think he would be perfect even if we might have to pay a bit too much. Sometimes it’s just right to “buy it nice or buy it twice”. I’m like that in real life myself.
-
Really? Some might have done so, not many from what I’ve noticed. Have you noted all this down so you know it’s the same people who have praised every other clubs target and called ours shit? You could be right to a degree tbf. I have been excited about many of our targets and links. But if I don’t rate someone like DCL or Elanga too much then I’m gonna say it. When it comes to other clubs I’ll do the same. I’ve praised some signings and I’ve laughed at some. It’s not exactly uncommon is it? In this particular case I said he “could” be a class signing for them. I’m not saying that he absolutely will be. We’ve been linked to him as well. And if I remember correctly then I said I’d be excited about him despite never seeing him play. Not sure if on here or some other place but yeah.
-
Personally I think we’ve struggled at times to break teams down in certain games. Where we’ve really not been able to feed Isak as much as we would have liked. Where it has looked like we’ve run out of ideas. Obviously not most games no.
-
No I don’t. Not sure if it’s even a genuine question from you or a bit cheeky? I’ll answer anyway of course. As said no I haven’t seen him play but I’ve read and heard quite a lot about him for a while now. Seems to be VERY highly rated, especially his potential ceiling which is said to be very very high. Therefore I used the word “could” because he’s still young and you never know in football and adaptation to a new country and so on. Many say he’s destined to go far.
-
I can understand why too. Just for me Elanga shouldn’t even be an option unless we get someone like JP in there. Entirely different to me.
-
Obviously. It’s more about the potential change in setup with someone centrally playing further up. Especially when said player has the attributes that Joao Pedro has. Makes a massive difference to me if it happens. There would be so much more playing depth and variety in our game with a player like him there.
-
Could be a class signing for them tbh.
-
There’s probably no need for me anymore to say that I’m not his biggest fan. I understand that some of his attributes could be very effective for us in certain games. He’s not a bad player, just a bit limited and one dimensional. Having said that, IF (Big IF) we get Joao Pedro then it changes a lot for me. If we get him then I’d be much more open to the idea of Elanga even though he wouldn’t be my first choice. I’d still want a more technical player that offers a bit more in general play than him. JP in there and it’s a massive difference for Elanga than Elanga in our current 4-3-3 without him. Most likely wouldn’t even be the same setup “on paper”, most games at least.
-
Aye you might be right tbh. I think we will IF we can get rid of Longstaff and Willock. But yeah, obviously not quite straightforward. Also wondering about potential Palace interest in Miley. I hope we don’t sell him though.
-
How can you say this? You think it’s impossible that we sell both Willock and Longstaff? IF we don’t get another CM it’s gonna be a tough season, a very long and tough one… Woukd be naive not doing it. Id be ok with a slightly cheaper one too like Fernandes from Southampton. Either way it’s a MUST imo. We will struggle with 3 + Miley. Longstaff and Willock is pointless to even think about imo. Can see Joelinton struggling with fitness too. Imo there’s a reason Howe changed formation. Not only because of the teams we played.
