I wonder how much extra we would have to pay for Elanga. Probably not too much extra/year depending on how we view it for PSR reasons. Don’t see Anderson being worth near as much.

Hopefully all this is our way of improving financially before we go for the more ambitious targets that improve us properly. Lay the foundations now to see what is possible to do financially further ahead. (Apart from the “deadline” alone)

Gordon has always been much better in general play. Even if not a genuinely creative/flair type of player.

Personally I feel that we need some players that can allow us to control games better at times too, with great technical ability and IQ to get to the next level. Elanga doesn’t offer much outside of transitions.

Doesn’t get me excited. If for cheap and in as a squad player then fine. But the longer this goes on I’m sure he will be Kvaradona before he even has played a game. Not a bad player though but no thanks unless it meets the criteria’s above

Elanga is another player who’s mostly decent in a very transitional team. It’s great to be good in transitions but imo we need genuine quality that also helps us in games where there isn’t that much transitioning. im “ok” with him if it’s as backup at best, and cheap cheap.

I think Isak will find it more cool if we sign proper quality instead. Not that Elanga is absolutely shite or anything.

Cash without doubt. I don’t want DCL. I don’t see him as the “future”. Also depending on contract he might end up being dead wood that is impossible to get rid of because of wages. I want players that we can rely on in every way possible. Can’t afford to take these risks imo. Yea they might pay off at times but I don’t think it’s worth it.

Can see him starting slowly only to be a massive hit in the 2nd half of the season. Good choice Brighton.

Funny how DCL has become better all of a sudden compared to before he was seriously linked. Some make it sound as if he was a Drogba regen(For some). Having said that, me, personally think he might prove to be a decent signing for us. However I would prefer that we go for someone less injury prone, especially for the price that’s been doing the rounds. I can see him doing better in a new environment with us but I’m hoping for someone else.

That’s true. If so it’s a bit of money to spend in our current position if it’s like 20m when considering our priorities imo. Not saying it’s an extremely high price or anything. But if only for backup the. Maybe we could find something slightly cheaper without being as bad as Dubravka, I don’t know.

I genuinely don’t think Trafford will be ready to be 1st choice keeper even next season. Obviously both could/hope to be wrong IF he does sign. Doesn’t strike me as a keeper with authority and leadership that can command his area. That might come with time I’m not sure it will soon enough.

No! But I would have tried going for a slightly cheaper option than a 40-50m CB or whatever. Because these keepers don’t come around too often, especially at this age. Hypothetically speaking IF he was willing to sign for us obviously which I think. I’m sure we can afford our top priority RW position and this keeper for 35-40m or whatever and still be able to find a good CB for a decent price. Also regarding the RW, I don’t think we will sign a 60m winger because we lost out on Olise. I’m not sure who is good enough and would cost a bomb as well as be willing to sign for us.
